It's not hysteria to point out something is wrong and TBH it's getting a bit old with you repeatedly dismissing valid concerns as emotional excess. The fact so many ppl are pointing it out shows that the changes are bollocks, not that everyone has become hysterical.
If anything this strongly implies your opinions are in the minority and out of touch.
I've read enough posts in that character change thread to know mass hysteria when I see it. Not all the posts are, of course, but there are quite a bit of them.0 -
Arondite wrote:Could be that we can expect to see more characters who will be generating charged tiles period, ex gambit, Vulcan, Sebastian shaw, etc
If that's the case, it makes sense to reduce the amount of charged tiles each character produces since things could get crazy really fast if you have someone with a blue that drops 12 of the bastards
Makes since but shouldn't the use of a skill like Smite just uncharge the tiles instead of leave them on the board for another smite or other ability?0 -
Simple nerf options that keep Thor feeling 4* worthy....
Option 1) Power Surge and Smite now only generate Red and Yellow charged tiles.
My preferred nerf. This gives the character all the power and utility feel of a 4* like X-Force while removing the reliable perma stun cheese from the build. Suddenly charged tiles feel like the potential backfiring mechanic they were meant to be. If you need to take this a step further than lower the stun to 3 turns.
Option 2) Remove the bonus AP gain from charged tiles.
This would retain the massive damage that kept the character appealing without making her a battery to fuel repeated skills while enemies are stunned. If you need to take this a step further than lower the stun to 3 turns.
Option 3) Apply all the existing D3 changes but buff Smite.
Smite now deals 1500 additional damage per charged tile on the board. Translation: 19AP spent means that most characters are effectively one shot (11525 damage). The drastic reduction in charge tiles along with the stun change makes her less of a battery preventing reliable follow ups and stun locks.
Before anyone says doing 11525 damage is too much...let me remind you that we've had Nick Fury doing 10535 uncounterable damage for 9 fewer AP and almost no complaints from the player base.
Note: These are comments on the nerf aspect only...hence no commenting on her yellow skill or making any attempt to make it as viable as her red/blue ones.0 -
If one of most of these changes are the one to be implemented I would normally like usual keep silent and just move on with the game. If only the developers were as smart even 50% as the forumers here I wouldn't stop playing from yesterday0
-
Seriously.
And I mean 4Thor we have now - 12 charded files for 5 blue covers.
Reason?
Simple!
To kill 22.000 hp Ares and Venom.
It is only doing pathetic 12.000 damage now. For 19 AP. Every match boosted. Need to be extremly lucky - Ares´s Sunder does 8000 damage for 10 AP, Onslaught does almosti 4500 damage for only 5 green AP. Game is loooooong.
I´d say XF and 4Thor are weak now.
(This is only half-joke, to point out to ongoing scaling issue.)0 -

Level 3 - Stuns for 1 turn. Makes 4 charged tiles.
Level 4 - Stuns for 2 turns. Makes 4 charged tiles.
Level 5 - Stuns for 3 turns. Makes 5 charged tiles.
I'd like to get some opinions on which build to go for post nerf...
I would think the obvious answer for many is just to stick with 5/3/5 build.
That said, I'm strongly considering a 5/5/3 build which essentially trades out 1 charged tile and 2 turns stun in favour of ~1000 more AoE damage and ability to overwrite CD tiles. This build is FAR more useful in PvE but still has some benefits in PvP.
Any opinions?
Would 553 be a horrible mistake?0 -

I'd put 5 in blue only if you think there's going to be another charged tile user that can get you enough critical mass. The ability to take out the last guy safely is of very little use in MPQ in general. In PvP you got X Force who is generally far more dangerous than the other two guys put together, and if you got a mix like The Hood/X Force or Loki/X Force both must be taken out quickly so it's not like you have time to leisurely find 19 AP plus something else extra. PvE is generally the same, at least with the DA themed events usually it's a matter of life and death whether you can take out Ares/Juggernaut/Daken ASAP. Though I'm not even sure why you'd need 5 in Smite if you don't have Power Surge maxed. 4K damage for 10r is not that impressive. If you not planning to buy your covers I'd just try to get 5 in yellow and then get whatever red/blue that happened to fall in your hands first and maybe by then we'll know for sure if Gambit or someone else is going to be added to see whether there's hope to continue in investing in charged tiles.0 -

One thing that the 5/3/5 build has going for it in PvE is that against guy + 2 feeder nodes (which tend to be the hardest nodes in PvE, as many can attest to in Hell's Kitchen with the Torch + green goons, etc), level 5 power surge is going to be extremely important for stunning the one guy. You could argue that 5 yellow is better in PvE vs goons, but do you really need more help taking down goon nodes to begin with? I'm going to stick with 5/3/5 while everything settles down, but the stun is a pretty big part of the ability, and it seems unlikely that sacrificing that will end well.0 -

Since Power Surge is nerfed to only create 5 tiles you can pretty much rule out being able to Power Surge again in 3 turns so it's not going to be a stun lock anyway. In terms of best value for stuns, both Peacemaker and Billy Club is likely better against a single opponent (Peacemaker more expensive up front but easier to keep up, Billy Club cheaper and stuns longer but you can't control where it ends up). I certainly see no reason to hurry to 5 in yellow but I'm not seeing anything interesting you can do with a Smite/Surge combo unless another good charged tile character comes out.
5 in yellow is more than anti-goon. There are quite a few powerful CDs you need to remove in PvE for the Simulator/Gauntlet format (DAs don't really have anything interesting CD wise). If they eventually nerfed X Force you'd also need to seriously consider how to defend against Star-Lord's insane CDs.0 -
They nerfed Power Surge really really 'well', not only now generates 40% of the power tiles it used to, but now it stuns for one turn less. This ability has been really over-nerfed.
I have a 5/2/5 4hor so, I won't be able to respec her to 5/5/3 anytime soon, so I will try to keep her 5/3/5 for now and see what happens next (maybe Gambit or elektro are super good and the new dominant duo are 4hor + Gambit ...). I wouldn't do anything drastic until new power tile generators are out and we have news about XForce nerf.0 -
She still does 7K if you combo her, which isn't huge, but not terrible, Mystique does that and Cyclops does that, but we are talking 3*'s not 4*'s.
I think she should do around 10K with a Smite/Surge combo so if you do the math
10K - 4K(smite dmg initial)= 6K
6K/725(dmg per charged tile)= 8.27 tiles. Which is what I have said for awhile, 8 was probably the right number all along
While I do think we are going to be getting some charged tile charaters very soon which will probably help with her power, right now it was too much, however, if they do come out with a character, and it makes her better, people will think she got buffed and stop complaining, so maybe it's strategy.0 -
I just had it with you guys, you Nerf here Nerf there but this is it. When you guys did it with Sentry NOT USABLE anymore I was pissed but let it go even after I spend real money buying hero points to buy his covers. Now is Thor (Goddess of Thunder) turn right ? I paid for close to all of her cover a lot of money and now you make changes you say to balance the game no no no that's all a lie, you now see that your 4s plan is not working well because people don't want Electra or Star Lord so lets beat her down so people spend money that's all this really is right. I want all my money back and I want it now I will also be contacting Apple support and Android or Google about this garbage. To all players if you fell like I do raise your voice complain. This is not about not wanting to lose one of my main roster or anything like that. Is about the abuse does not matter if you use money to buy hero points or play hard we have rights. How many Nerf do we get in this game can't they make them right out of the door if I don't like it I won't buy it. Professor X Blue is OP when will that Nerf come when you made a lot of money and want to sell other 4s. And please excuse any massive grammar errors a little pissed. Also we pay full price for Hero covers and ISO and they give us in the buy back what less than half the ISO and Hero points to buy 1 cover nice right.0

Like I said I did apologize for my grammar but looks like some people have a low IQ and can see the point but hey D3 understood it so well I got the fastest reply in D3 History Under 30 minutes I got this reply.

Hello D3P Customer,
Thank you for contacting D3P Customer Support.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer further compensation for this issue, aside from the enhanced sell rate.
We deeply apologize that you feel negatively affected by the recent changes, and we would like to offer an explanation of our policy. Balance changes are an important part of any competitive Player vs. Player game, and the developer reserves the right to change any characters in order to improve the overall gameplay experience.
You can review the terms of gameplay by referring to our EULA: http://www.d3p.us/EULA/MarvelPuzzleQuest/
Again, we understand that changes to a character that you had invested in can be frustrating, which is why the developer has included an official in-game sell bonus for any character that receives balance changes in Marvel Puzzle Quest. If you are dissatisfied with this sell bonus, we cannot provide additional compensation, but we would like to encourage you to share your thoughts in the forums:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=25305
We also encourage you to consider the updates as a whole rather than focusing on a single change or two. The meta game and how characters match up against one another is altered with each change, so looking at one single character when trying to assess the updates can be less useful than trying out all changes after they are released. If you are still dissatisfied with the changes after taking the time to **** them post-release, we encourage you to take advantage of the temporary sell bonus so you can invest your Iso-8 and Hero Points into other characters more suited to your style of game play.
Many questions can be answered by visiting our helpful Marvel Puzzle Quest FAQ at: www.d3publisher.helpshift.com
If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again and it will be a pleasure to help you.

Is anyone has something to say other than point out my grammar or lack of punctuation also grammar duh please do would like any feedback here want to know if anyone does feel cheated. People this is not about money is about the unfair abuse by developers here to take our money. When they nerf a character what they give us close to half the ISO and 1500 or 1250 (not sure) hero points on a 166 a 166 has 13 covers they give us the hero points to buy 1 cover. Would it not be fair we get back what we put in to the character so we can invest on another ? Hey want to bash me for my grammar or any other reason go for it. Reality here is they are cheating us and getting away with it.0
