5 blue is def the game changer, the only covers worth buying right now IMO
5/2/5 lvl 2100 -
Yay I can be useful for a change!
So my gthor is 4/3/4 and I leveled her to 190. She's not amazing but I'd still probably say better than my maxed 3* unless I'm going to surgical yellow in which case I might rather bring LT. Anyway, blue into red does like 5200 or thereabouts at 190 which is usually enough to finish someone off. The biggest problem is against other xf/4hor teams that have a hefty featured char, cause then surgical into surge/smite still leaves you susceptible to opp. And you don't charge enough blue or red to power it up again (usually - sometimes you do and it is glorious).
Edit to add: she's still a pretty big tank at that level which I think keeps some attacks off of you. So that is one benefit to adding her to your lineup.0 -
I have her at 229 with 4/2/5 build and I purchased 3 of those covers and regret nothing. I have a maxed xforce and Fury and she blows them out of the water. I thought I could get away with only 4 blue but that last level makes a world of difference even at low levels. Definitely recommend buying the last blue cover.0
-
4or covers (2 of them, 1 red and 1 blue) were the first covers I bought in approximately what, 5-6 months? I tried to resist the very idea but smart devs gave us her Lightning Rounds during the Anniversary week where anyone could see that she was tons of fun to play, and then those goon nodes in the Season event, too, for those who missed the Anniversary week...
Covers matter much more for 4*s then levels, but you want to give 4or every level you can since she's the tankiest character besides Dino, and can power through a lot of games before needing a single healthpack. I level-maxed her before X-Force, who I have had max-covered for much longer and who I still don't feel like level-maxing.
She blows you away, not stellar on defense, but really fun on offense.0 -
It's the 5th blue that takes her from good to amazing. Less important with regards to 5th red (if you select that build) and, in fact, 4 in red and yellow is popular with some ppl because of the ability to remove CD tiles.
The other thing is she benefits more from levels than Xforce. It's still a case of minimal ability damage increases with levels beyond a certain point BUT she gets a lot of health per level which helps extend the time to kill your team (and increase the pitiful chance you get a defensive win) making hops a bit safer and maybe a bit more of a scarecow effect....0 -
I'll jump on the bandwagon here. With 5 blue, mine was useful on offence around level 170-180 easily. I think I had a 4/3/5 build when I started using around 170. I'm still only at level 210 5/3/5 and she is a powerhouse. First character in at least 8 months I've used HP to cover, I bought the last 2 blue. Not sure I would have sprung for 3 covers though, would have just waited it out.0
-
That's where I'm at now. I'll buy 2, but I just can't justify 3. If I snag a blue from some lucky miracle token, I'll bump her up and feed her ISO, otherwise Fury and xforce will just have to do0

Buying my last two blue Goddess covers was the best investment I've made since buying my last three Sentry covers back when he was first relevant. The sooner you get her covered and useful the more rewards you're going to get.0
-
I would say 5 blue and 4 red, mine is 515
with that stun and charged tiles you can even trigger both skills right away, 4 red is near downing Hulk, 5 is over 10k with the right conditions0 -

Ok, if Jamie-freakin-Mardox says it, you know it's true. Could you just use your overwhelming power to make my 4hor 5/3/5, lvl 270 by draining a little ISO and hp from the entire player base? Just a little, not enough for anyone to miss it...this seems like something well within your power, so help brother out0 -
My 4hor isn't fully covered, at 5/2/3, lvl 131, I find she can be incredible useful in many situations. If I can fire off one Power Surge to stun a enemy followed by Smite, I do almost 3500 in damage. Doesn't seem like a lot but when up against higher powered goons, she can last a long time and tank for color grabs for others on the team (especially in the 2* range).
My usual style is to save to get enough to do 2 Power Surges or a Power Surge + Striking Distance, then Smite and wipe someone completely out. Then I can either leave the charged tiles or grab for faster AP stocking.0 -

Spending $40 to get 2/13ths of a character seems completely insane to me. Am I the only one?0 -

No, you're not, and I really don't want to do it. But I don't see another choice, and I'm just treading water without 4-Thor. I will probably wIt till the next hp sale before I pull the trigger, but if I want to compete in pvp again, I'm gonna need those covers, and I don't see me hitting any 1300s without her, sooooo...you win d3. Shut up and take my money.0 -
yep people (normally lower level players without any full 4*'s) complain about xforce all the time because they have to deal with him on defense which usually isn't fun but the reality of the situation is that gt is so much stronger than he is on offense. once you get enough blue for a single 5-cover power surge and enough red for a following smite then it's pretty much game over for the ENTIRE opposing team.0
-
5 blue is the key, it feeds everything else, so what if your smite can't do 10K worth of damage, a 3/3/5 4hor can still pump out about 6K - 7K worth of damage on Smite, which is a pretty good return ratio, hell even a 1/1/5 4hor is still useable, and who says you have to use Power Surge/Smite combo, you could just do it for the accelerated AP especially against certain teams. So in short, 5 blue and she's playable regardless of there rest of her.0

Like others have said the last rank in blue is the key to strength when used offensively... The stun and "buff" it gives to her red ability is what makes her strong. Without the charge tiles, her red is somewhat weak compared to a a fair number of 3* abilities...
Just remember on defense she is not as strong as you think as the AI rarely uses blue followed by a red attack, And even when she does she will probably smite the very same target she has powersurge stunned. plus any player attacking you is going to take advantage of any charged tiles they see which makes the ability a double edged sword.
I have mine at lvl 166 at 445 and she is pretty much at around 80% of the damage output of a fully level 270 when it comes to her powers, I started to use her more frequently when she hit lvl 130+. but I never use her on defence, she's too slow and the AI doesn't use her as effectively as a player does.0 -
I played this match-3 game last night,
had a pretty scary fight!
Facing claws and big tough lady,
never thought it'll be so deadly.
X shaped pattern broke the board,
and their AP starts to hoard.
Oh that cascade's keep on going
but I won't retreat, won't stop playing.
Suddenly I am feeling hopeless,
my turn ended, here comes Goddess.
Skies teared apart by bright lightning,
and my party finished fighting.
Skip such fights therefore my friend,
you won't regret it in the end.
Unless you have 4* roster,
don't even try to face that monster.0 -
... and lo'! down came the tool with a mighty blow,
and sparks & lighting spat around,
to charge the shattered, pulsing ground,
but as the dust begin to clear,
another dread-beast was all too near,
With a flish and flash of metalled-claws,
he ripped and cleft without a pause,
and so the reapers came and took,
all my health, greens, hope and luck."

Why do I say this?
Examine the reason each is seen as overwhelming.
Thoress can walk through a team of 2 with little to no problem. Her massive health guarantees her survival to the 20 AP mark, at which point she can safely obliterate any 2 characters in the game without repercussion. Being able to safely contest and eliminate 2 characters at once (even if one of those two characters is the same character..?) is objectively overpowered. I'm a huge fan of Thor, so I was having a hard time admitting that the character was overpowered. Even I must admit this is true, though.
X-Force Wolverine is ahead of the game in terms of power, but he's not sitting leagues above the cast like Thoress. Right now he seems insane because he partners so well with her. He's the best in the game at assassinating a single target (and there are those who aren't far behind him in that regard, for what it's worth).
Lets create a hypothetical scenario -
In scenario 1, we delete X-Force Wolverine. Thoress still remains on top of the game, and the strategy for using her actually remains the same as well. You would pair her with someone who can quickly eliminate the squishiet target on the opposing team, then use her to walk over whatever is left.
What about the other end of the spectrum?
In scenario 2, we now have removed Thoress instead of XForce entirely. XForce still plays the same - trying to rapidly gib the squishiest or most damaging targets on the opposing team as fast as possible, but he now has his drawbacks. Once he puts down his first skill really quickly off your boosts, there's still a game to play. Granted, you're at an advantage as it's 2v3, but the game isn't already over at this phase like with Thoress. Wolverine will sit comfortably as the best in the game, yes, but it's not an insurmountable gap like 4verine and 4hor together.
By bringing 4Hor in line with the game, we also bring Wolverine in line by taking away the best dancing partner he could've ever hoped for. Wolverine is ecstatic to be partnered with someone who can 1v2, it's true. But why is he being examined because he is the best partner for a character who can 1v2.Lets create a hypothetical scenario -
