Only trick is surviving long enough to accumulate 14 purple, but boosts help with that.

Best 28000 DP points I've ever spent!

You don't need 14 purple when 14 TUs will do the trick - and both MStorms can get that quite easily if they have a tank of two taking all the hits for them.

Deadpool TUs are a rare, rare thing, though. I was able to get 14 purple ap on my second try and Deadpool even had 120 hp left, so that took care of things easily enough.

    Just hit Node 42.
    they are level 331
I transitioned to Deadly at 39
    been boosting since then.
I'm getting to the "Is the psylocke worth it?" point.

I'm currently at Sim 39 and primarily used Lazy Cap, Patch or Punisher, & Hood. My Sentry & Lazy Daken are both way under leveled AND under covered for this event. my Lazy Daken has been stuck at 1 2 2 forever...
If you can get an early Green Punisher out, it is insane. I was using Patch for the healing to soak up damage, but using his Green is way too risky with these high levels.
Hood's Black helps get back Cap shields really nicely, and if I can get a Hood yellow with Punisher strikes tiles out, it does tons of damage and gets me the AP I need, and lets me target any nasty countdown/strike/attack tiles too. With Hood & Cap, it's been a successful go of it getting rid of those.

My Sim 39 levels are 299 Deadpool, 299 Ares, and 299 OWB.
The level scaling is just a tad too high IMO. I have no idea what my final nodes's levels will be, but probably pretty rough.
I don't know if I'll be able to get through to the Black Psylocke cover I need pretty badly. A level 166 5 5 3 Pyslocke is just sad...

BTW, Did was it ever determined what causes level scaling? I don't think these guys were 299 when I checked a few hours ago (they might have been like 292 or something). I haven't been speeding the ISO I'm getting for fear it will scale them up, but maybe it's looking at my unspent ISO as well?

Did the final node in the hopes of picking up a real kick-@$$ TU.

    Got a level 395 Anti-gravity Device... ****! icon_e_sad.gif

My Sim 39 has been at 312s for those 3. OBW hits for 900 or so on every double-tap Espionage match-3, and they wiped my team of MNMag, CStorm and Cap in 4 turns.
I've taken 6 runs at this node so far. After that, I tried to tank and got another 6 teams wiped. 12 straight losses, the levels did not budge.

Came close with Pun/BP/Hood -- managed to get OBW out but lost Punisher early -- down to just Hood vs. Ares but I couldn't steal any yellow. Just hit 12 TU for Thunderstrike and got nailed with Sunder for loss.

At least now I feel like it is attainable. And I need this cover to get my Psy out of 5/5/2 -- so I'll have to keep at it.
  • Against all expectations, I got far enough to nab the GSBW greenflag.png earlier. My nodes turned deadly at 35 which is Fury being fed purple by goons. Somehow I got a lucky board, and downed it my first try, which only fueled my unrealistic hope that I can complete this sucker, and pick up the Psylocke blackflag.png too.

Someone said it earlier. In other PvE events, I'd never even attempt a Deadly, because the risk vs reward isn't there. Most times it just ends up wasting health packs, when I can grind an easier node for the points instead. I don't like the difficulty scaling of this event, but I like how it forces you forward if you want the progression awards.

Requiring BP to earn BP is still a steaming load though.
  • All right, just used an improvised Sentry Bomb - Patch + WR TU - to take out Sim 41. Then tried Level 281 Sim 42 for the first time with my now standard BP + Punisher + Hood. Actually came close. Punisher died pretty early, but was able to take out OBW first, then XForce died after bringing BP almost to nothing with his Green and Black. Sentry never pulled off a Sacrifice, hi WR broke against BP's strike tiles, but an unfortunate cascade gave him the red needed to demolish BP and full hitpoint Hood.
  • I swear to god, 37 is like bashing my head against a brick wall. I can't deny yellow, because the goon just feeds it to BP anyway. And as soon as he lays down Battleplan, I'm screwed.

I think this may be as far as I go.

Focus on taking out BP, but bring a stunner with you. Then stun the goon/AP feeder so that way BP isn't getting free blues and yellows. Obviously that's why they boosted cStorm. I stunned the goon for 4 turns, Mr. Panther never got off Battleplan.
  • I've got everything done but the last essential, which looks very beatable. Once I'm more recovered I'll give it another go, but since I've functionally got all day tomorrow to get one node, I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.

After using most of my health packs on every mission, I finally got smart and cleared the last six missions or so and barely lost any health. How? Spidey/2* mags/Situational (Pun, BP, Hulk, OBW as needed/required). Boosted with 6 or 9 purple (used new + retired boosts) I was able to use mag's purple to generate blue and crits before any significant damage could come in. By the time I got my first enemy was down I'd usually have around 25 blue, which is definitely enough to stunlock with Spidey.

Some of you guys have already filled in the blanks, so thanks. The points get erased after you beat the node. Was hoping all the blanks could get filled in, so I know to try the 3 Essentials and risk raising my Sims, or which path to go to get certain rewards. I'm on Sim 38 and have Essential 13 ready to go to, once some true healing happens.

*Finished Essentials 13-15 and Sim 38, got exact amount for 1000 Iso, 3152 pts.

He is required for essential 18, and Grey Widow is required for 17.

Haven't finished yet, but I just cleared the icon_blackwidow.pngicon_juggernaut.pngicon_ironman.png node at 307 after two wipes. 37 was harder.

Level 324 icon_thor.pngicon_bullseye.pngicon_shehulk.png on Sim 41 went down on the first try. Not looking forward to level 340 icon_wolverine.pngicon_sentry.pngicon_blackwidow.png on sim 42.

I have sim 42 plus the right hand essentials to take a stab at tomorrow.
    These are brutal.

There's another trick: stun BP precisely on the turn that he get enough yellow AP to cast BattlePlan. The goon will then fire his CD instead. You don't have to be too lucky to get 5 blue for Spidey before BP gets to 9 yellow, but if you don't...

I lucked into him from a standard token after bumping into that particular wall in the Heroes Gauntlet. I already have a 1/2/2 Psylocke, so while I could use the cover, it's not like it would do me a ton of good at this juncture.

Looking for advice on Essential 18: Hood & 2 Goons Level 245.

I have wiped on this node 3 times. The second and third failures felt more due to a bad board than a bad team, but still I feel like I am missing an obvious strategy here.

I used my available DP Points on Sim 42, so I can't cheese this final node.

    Any ideas?

I don't have an effective cMags.

I used OBW/Lcap/Falcon. Terrible color overlap, but they're all good at dealing with goons in their own way and Hood by himself doesn't do enough damage to scare. I also got a pretty friendly board with lots of early fast red/purple/blue matches. Once Cap gets started it's all over.

This worked so amazingly well on Essential 18, with Panther OBW and Falcon vs Hood and two mob bosses. I brought two huge TUs with me and didn't end up having to throw even one of them. BP ate a Twin Pistols but other than that I controlled the board easily.
  • I've been mostly done with the game before this event, it was a blast to play. No pressure, no need to remember to log in at exact points in time, just playing the game.

Just playing the game was fun. If there was more like that I would get back into it.

LOL stun the goon! Who would have thought? Love it. This event is like solving chess puzzles, but you have the randomness of the deck on top.

I just got saved by a real pissed off CStorm with the whole team getting murdered by goon fueled Fury- Raging Tempest of Hell, Fury went down like a mobbed up boxer.
