I have wiped on this node 3 times. The second and third failures felt more due to a bad board than a bad team, but still I feel like I am missing an obvious strategy here.
I used my available DP Points on Sim 42, so I can't cheese this final node.
Any ideas?
I don't have an effective cMags.
I used OBW/Lcap/Falcon. Terrible color overlap, but they're all good at dealing with goons in their own way and Hood by himself doesn't do enough damage to scare. I also got a pretty friendly board with lots of early fast red/purple/blue matches. Once Cap gets started it's all over.0 -

You've got to be able to stun Hood, so Storm is an obvious option. Even if your cMags is underleveled it's worth bringing him to get off one polarity shift. Your teamups are key too, because you'll want some board shakeup abilities to deal with all of the goon countdowns. You could take out the final lvl 140 Rags node from the prologue for his cheap powers.
Since it comes down to how fast you can stun hood, I think it's worth boosting. You'll run the risk that hood just steals it right away but you'll have to get lucky with the board there. For the record, I cashed out my last DP points on this one.0 -
Lazy Cap got me through Essential 18. The ability to stun Hood and overwrite the trap tiles I couldn't match away was vital. BP and Daken were basically just along for the ride (and to tank as much as possible).0

I used BP/Cap/Falcon. Won despite a terrible board even. My cap ate it early, but I did get enough yellow to get off BP's strike tiles. Two of them survived killing Hood. From there it was just managing the black cd tiles as they are the only ones that do damage (other than cascades). I never had any blue/yellow/black AP, but every yellow match I made strengthened my last two remaining strike tiles. I won the war of attrition. Daken might be a better choice than Cap, but I was focused on overwriting those goon tiles I suppose.0 -

Think I did it with MagStorm. Probably just as easily cleared with Panther-OBW-2*Daken. Get strike tiles out so Espionage can kill Hood quickly. Once he's dead it's just a matter of keeping enough blue to roll back the CDs, and black to repeat launch Rage.0 -
Random question...anyone out there actually repeat clearing these nodes? I thought about it, but the random rewards stink, and 20ISO isn't enough incentive to go fight lvl 270 enemies again.
Farming TU powers might be the only good reason to do it, but I have enough decent ones already.0 -

easy node and 1 try for me. Just bring OBW + any offensive character. take out hood early and just spam blue so the goon's black never goes off, Done0 -

Panther? Without M.Mags I can't seem to kill Black Panther before he cripples my team with a Rage of the Panther, and if I concentrate on him, Classic Mags ends up devastating my team.
Punisher/Wolverine/Thor aren't getting the job done for me. Who are you guys using?
Anyone try the risky Patch + cStorm + Hulk combo? Berser Rage and then see who dies first0 -

I may go back and play some of the goon-only nodes in Villians but other than that, I have no desire to fight 300+ enemies for 20 ISO.0 -
Gah, I have one fight left to complete and I've been stuck on it for awhile. Was finally in position to win and the AI gets one of those infinite cascades turns and, a few minutes later, X-Force is left standing with his 20 health and my team is dead.0

I hit a few of the very-low level ones (like the first three) several times, but I was getting a ton of 20 ISOs (about 3/4 of the time) and got bored with it.0 -
Like many of the people here, I can't say I liked the way this event scaled. It got way too hard too quickly, and I felt reluctant to carry on. At this point I haven't even touched the Finale - largely because I suspect I won't be able to finish it in time, or even get to the Green GSBW. I'm in the 2*->3* transition, and have only 2 3*s at 153. My PunPun is okay, but only has 2 green covers (bleagh!) so there's that. My BP is woefully undercovered as well (3/2/2.) If it had fallen better for my characters, I probably would have been able to do better.
Otherwise, it wasn't bad, I think. Certainly the rewards from the event are way less than I would have gotten from a normal PVE (one PunPun cover from progression, probably the 150 placement level of the 3* prize which I'm guessing was slated to be Psylocke?) but that doesn't bother me a lot. If every PVE was like this, I think I'd be very frustrated, but as a variant on the normal cycle I like it.
Of course, PVE has become much less frustrating for me when I decided to just focus on the progression prizes and event tokens in the subs. I see the placement 3* as a nice bonus - I can usually get the least level of them when they're a normal character but I've just plain given up on getting them when they're a new character.0 -
I still like this event (or, 2/3 of it). But man, the levels in Finale are ugly.
Wiped 3x this morning on Simulation 37, and now a 4th time now that I'm home from work.
are tearing me up.
That node is "only" at level 260.
Each time I lost three maxed 166s to it, all at full health, and went in with some ( ) boosts and equipped. Unfortunately those losses have done nothing to lower the levels.
I guess I'll try it again later, but that may be it for me in this event. I'm sort of stuck there unfortunately.
When Adamantium slash downs one guy no matter what, or Rage deals 18k to your team, it's really rough. Tried targeting down Muscle, lose to the other two. Try to spread damage and finish with an AOE... wipe to muscle.
I'm not suggesting this become easy, but the levels might be a bit much on Finale.
First sub was easy, second seemed about right (challenging but achievable), third is nigh unplayable. What started out very amusing is no longer fun. And unlike most unfun PVEs which we feel obligated to grind because there's a new character that we don't actually like, this one has rewards that don't merit me playing it any further. I already have cover maxed so there's nothing left here for me but aggravation.
When this is run again (and I hope it is) it will be interesting to see what adjustments (if any) have been made to address these things. I'm curious what % of players were able to beat everything, and what levels they were seeing to do so. And also if the devs want everyone to be able to complete it. It would seem to me like you'd want everyone to at least have a chance to make a play through... why create content for no one to see?0 -
Extra time granted. Have fun.0

Huh. Yes, they gave us an extra day. That's really odd - if they keep to their normal schedule they usually take a 24 to 36 hours off when a PVE ends in the middle of the week, and they almost always start one at Friday at noon. Not only that, but this week is the "other" week where they introduce a new character. (Don't get me started on that. I think they definitely throw too many characters at us, but Roster slots is probably their primary source of income...)0 -

That node is just pure cheese. I remember taking a 4000 damage match 4 on The Hood on that one. It's pretty much just a race to kill BP before they put up crazy strike tiles on the board.0 -
Hated Sim 37. I wiped so many times on that node. IIRC, I finally got lucky with Hulk-Cap-Hood.0

This one is wrecking me as well. It's level 163 and I have no maxed 3* characters. I've tried a bunch of combos with LCap (only 91), 94 Ares, 94 Thor, 86 OBW and the 134 Mags/Storm. Unfortunately, that's the top end of my roster and I just can't pump out enough damage to stop strike tile spam. My Punisher only has one cover and two for my GSBW. This scaling sucks.0 -

Yeah, it was really bad for me since Patch and BP are my only two 166s. I think that was the node I ended up beating with a 4th Rate team featuring Modern Storm and using up a Whales TU along with 30k DP points.
39 was the next bad one, though not quite as bad and I managed to do it by luck after only wiping a few times. 40 was relatively easy, and got me my HP reward, which is all I wanted.0
