    Anyone passed the Lv300 Juggernaut SIM40 without a X-force?

In the previous nodes my best team are Punisher(maxed)+Hood(max blue lv102)+LThor(maxed lv128)+boosts……

    But with BW + Jugg ,i don't think i stand a chance icon_cry.gif

I used LThor, Hood and BP (That tanks every color for Hood). At first I tried by taking down Juggs first, but in the end I realized it's Mbw the real thorn in your side. So, kill MBW first and deny red and green to keep Juggs under control

    The event is GREAT! But:

    1. They really need to do something with the difficulty scaling! Enemies of almost 200lvl's compared to my not fully upgraded 2* roster is not a funny joke...

This might come down to what percent of people they are looking to complete all the Nodes. Its looks like they pitched at a level which is not 100%. It would be interesting after the event if D3 produced a table of both the percent of players and average number of attempts per win for each node. Getting through both villains and Heroes was easy enough - single sitting not using all Health packs. However Finale was quite a bit more difficult and took me the best part of 24H to do.
  • Steve Rogers and Hood have been my best friends in this event. Cap shines in battles of attrition against overleveled enemies (repeated shield tosses, and a nice protect tile for mitigating level 300+ match damage). Hood is great for denying enemy abilities that can one-shot my guys (like a 7000 damage headbutt).
  • Christ this is tough. Are they scaling off my vastly boosted punisher? Seems unfair to everyone else in my Roster. Stuck on node 39 w/ level 218 toons, my highest level 3 is 140 with the next after him being 100. Punisher is boosted to 184. I could throw some ISO to Punpun to try and level the field but will that not just cause the enemies to increase in power proportionally? I can't help but feel that proper top tier players deal with these odds every day on PvE but I've always shied away from nodes marked Hard or higher because the reward wasn't proportional to the risk. I think my tile-matching mojo has suffered for it.

This is great fun though. My only gripes are that I'm not going to get it done in 3 days and I really want that Psylocke Black (Maybe if they gave me a week I'd eke out enough wins to get to the second Essentials set?) and that this kind of experiment might have been better suited to off-season, at least until they've refined their scaling and reward structure.

    Hi devs,

I have no idea who thought this scaling thing was a good idea but it's completely ruining my gameplay experience of this event.

Did anyone actually play test this? Good on you for trying a new variation of the usual but the scaling is screwing it over. My continuously wiped out roster indicates as such and I have close to no chance of getting to the end given I am struggling to get to the end of Heroes and I haven't even done the essentials.

After all your recent PvE's having such reachable progression rewards, not sure why you have now gone completely the other way.

    Thanks, but not really.

How exactly does the algorithm for the personal scaling work? My 2 best guys are 165 Lthor and Patch and I am looking at a 199 Punisher/200 Sentry/200 Storm Node.
Still better than goons feeding Sentry AP though.

The gauntlet is an instance where the Healthpack regeneration is a real hindrance. It has no purpose because it's not competitive but I'll have to wait hours before retrying a Node.

My best 2 characters are only 153 and that same node for me is 211/212/211 and I have no idea how to beat it...
  • If you have Deadpool and his purple cover - use that power (Whales), but you need DP points to use Push for OHKO
(If you don't have enough points for Push - just grind pve prologue).
  • finally cleared essential 16 with hulk/patch/rag

took me 5 tries before realizing I have to slowly chew down hulk's hp first, low enough to take him out in 1-2 skill shot then the rest was easy.

essential 17 was cakewalk just by denying storm's colors

now I have essential 15 and 18 left, just looking at them I think the hardest nodes are behind me. Once my health packs regen I should be able to finish those to complete the entire PvE.

I agree, that was how I was able to beat the 18khp jugg by throwing down 28k dmg and enjoying his whale's animation for the first time.
  • In your experience, is tanking possible?

I only need to beta final node ( Sentry, OBW, XWolv ) but it's lv.230 versus my lv.140 CStorm & friends.

Looks like no, you can't tank these. After losing 5 times in a row to that same node it didn't move from L.330.
  • I think everyone is just so used to PVE being a pushover that suddenly people freak out when they encounter nodes that are actually difficult! Got stuck in the Heroes section, as some of the nodes just broke apart my established teams, and was too busy trying to make sure I got the Hulk Black in PVP.

We need to fight more heroes in PVP on a general basis. It definitely forces you to find new team combinations.
  • Really enjoying the pace (my own) and challenge of this event. For the first time I'm actually paying attention to my roster and using characters that I know will do well against the AI. (ie Falcon vs Bullseye, XF vs Hulk, etc). Of course the scaling it nuts (over 330 now) and I don't need any of the covers but fun nonetheless. I feel bad for the players struggling with their 2* rosters though. It would be nice if newer players has less abusive scaling and the rewards scaled accordingly. Moderate scaling for 2* players nets them a few 3* covers, ball busting scaling (like what we're seeing) for maxed 3* rosters nets them a 4* cover.

But overall a great step in the right direction.
  • finally cleared all nodes. What I have learn is that

super AoE like L395 CotS or Deadpool's level 5 whales are now very valuable for this type of event. In the past I have been trying to load up cheap AP but powerful offensive TU's like dino bite, and try not to stock up too many L395 CotS because of the high AP cost. Now I wish I had kept more of them.

While alot of players are complaining how difficult the scaling is, especially if you have a good roster. I say this is not a bad thing, after all newer players with a weak roster should be able to complete this event with ease, while slowing down players with full 3* rosters. it help bridge the pace and gap between top and lower tier players so I give this a thumbs up.

I am in a 2* to 3* transition with a nearly maxed 3* team with L158 Ldaken, L140 Sentry, L130 Lthor as my main team (rest are lvl 94 and under) I find the nodes quite challenging, but mostly are the few specific nodes with the likes of sentry, hulk and Jugg. The rest is no comparison. So overall, scaling was not really the problem, the problem are the few characters when buffed becomes quite overpowering so you need overpowering strategy or moves like a L395 TU or extremely but unlikely super cascade and luck.

I give this event 8.5 out of 10 and if they double the rewards in its current form, it will be a 10 out of 10.

Last night in an act of desperation I beat that node against lvl.331 opponents. I'll give you my notes.

    I pulled out my Deadpool [lvl.53 2/1/0], Meat Shield #1 (Hood [lvl. 130 5/2/3]), and Meat Shield #2 (C.Spider [lvl.120 3/4/5]).

I also loaded up Stockpile +3 Purple+Blue AP, my last retired Stockpile +3 Purple+Blue AP, and a lvl 100 Fastball Special I earned in PvP last night. This put me at almost half way to whales to start. Despite my best efforts, Meat Shield #2 caught the wrong end of X-Force and was out, while I battled against OBW for control of all the purple, Meat Shield #1 was only about 1 match from death when I finally got enough purple AP and hit THE BUTTON.

They joy I had was momentarily deflated when I got the notice, "You would have earned a Team-Up, but your inventory is full. Use some of your Team-Ups to make room."
  • Really great event. There was few fights in heroes which required to find right team. Usually most PvPs I pass with one team, mainly build from powered up characters. It doesn't work here. Yesterday I finnished on 625. of Finale and hoping to get at least 3* Black Widow this evening.
In general, I find most fights easier than in other PvPs/PvEs - usually I cannot defeat team with such higher levels than my team. I think that rank here will be similar to this got in PvPs/PvEs. I have few 3* characters with decent level - most of them with about 6 covers found, others with 3-4. Main strength here is Black Panther 3/3/3 or 2* Storm with max blue. I have 3/2/1 Punisher and he is quite weak.

Hulk - BP - Daken just handled Sim 42 (X-Force/Sentry/OBW - level 360) with relative ease. After all the times I wiped out on Sim 41 I was not expecting that.

Hulk got in front of most of the damage, getting very angry and letting Daken generate lots of strike tiles, BP laid down some strike tiles of his own and after a few Thunderous Claps and a couple Rage of the Panthers, I had a win.

I did luck out with the board -- the AI didn't get any lucky cascades and the only ability they managed to fire off was Sentry's Sacrifice (which Hulk just used to get angrier).
  • Now THAT is an interesting concept - double all awards at the end of Gauntlet? That would have me bashing my face against the tougher nodes pretty hard.

I am somewhere between ashamed and proud of how I cheesed my way to victory.

Level 42 - My Team was Punisher, somewhere near max but not quite there, Lazy Cap at around level 60 and MN Magneto around 90. Boost +3 all, +3 blue/purple. Opponents in the 350+ weight division.

I think my highest source of damage to the enemy was World rupture. I'm not sure if Sacrifice or Molitov Cocktail came second. Keeping OBW stunned so she can't steal my blues and purples and trying to deny X-force black were the rules of the game.

Um, if your team was Punisher, Lazy Cap and MN Magneto, how did you fit Sentry's powers in there? Particularly Sacrifice which isn't even available as a team-up.
  • Great event - REEEAALLLY liked the "no pressure" aspect. Had to work your way through it, trying to find good character combos, like some sort of... quest.... to solve a... puzzle...

Lose the '20 ISO" boot to the head, and a great thing will become better.

    WAH-HOO!
