    Definitely enjoying the event. I feel like I can go and do real life stuff without worrying about how many refreshes I'll miss. Now if we could just combine this with the great writing from Deadpool vs. MPQ it would be heavenly!
  • Looks like I'll be locked out of three* covers from the finale. I don't see myself being able to beat 178 punpun/ sentry/ c.storm when that combo locks out my strongest boosted combo. (Punpun/ c.storm)

    The other available options for me are:
    Mnmags 134
    BP 108 5 covers
    Gsbw 108 5 covers
    Hulk 100 10 covers
    Patch 100 10 covers
    My usual roster of 94 (ares, obw, wolvie, tinydaken, bullseye, tinycap, tinythor)

    I can't see any combo there that'll take down a combo with 4 aoe's on 4 colors like molitov, windstorm, supernova and the always wonderful world rupture.

  • I initially thought the punisher/cstorm/sentry level would be impossible with my own cstorm and punisher unavailable. Being a 2** --> 3*** transition player I'm weak in depth. However, I remembered I'd been saving deadpool points for the past month or so. If you have them saved up and boost purple that's a way to sneak past a few of these insane levels.
  • The first node in the finale is level 295 now. It seems to be going up as you do missions but then that doesn't make sense why my started at 250 or so while someone with the same level 270 started at 200 since you couldn't have done any other mission before you saw the first node in the finale. My simulation 36 is 340X3 and that's only the first intersection. Are they really all supposed to be that high level?
  • I got past that node by getting my **** destroyed while I matched TU then used a fury blue I got from a previous node. God bless that silly, silly power.
  • This event has the right idea but scaling is really ruining it. It's already bad enough when you find all your nodes are 30 levels higher because you have X Force who doesn't make up for that, but nodes seem to be also going up for reasons no one can understand. A gaunlet event can't have arbitary difficulty setting. You don't just get to look at someone's roster and say 'yep +30 levels on everything is fair for you', because it's not fair. It can be too hard or too easy. It seems like a pure 3* roster is likely the most successful because you have the right amount of firepower without excessive enemy levels.

    I thought about this issue and the way they can solve it is that they should have a flat set of difficulty and have your roster scaled like Balance of Power. Not in the exact same way such that some 2* and 1* are overwhelmingly powerful, but say raise the 2* to level 130 and 1*s to level 110 (or whatever numbers that make them usable without being flat out better than 3*/4*), while leaving 3* and 4* alone. If some hero is supposed to be featured they can ge an additional level boost on top of the global boost.

    I haven't dusted off dp enough to have accumulated points enough for whales. Doh! At 1/1/2 he's more a liability in most nodes, plus I just never remember on the off chance I do see an easy node. Good thought tho.

    Perhaps I'll try wiping on it every few hours in the hopes of a lucky run while trying to reduce the scaling.

    Having nodes based on the few strong toons you have locking you out of the most meaningful rewards is... annoying.

    Yeah, that's the the node that's **** me at the moment, they are 125 for me. I'm firmly in 2* land, with lvl78 OBW, Ares, Thor, Cstorm and MNMags (maxed covers on all of them). I have a bunch of ISO I've been saving up to level all my chars to 86 then 94, but being locked out of Polarity Shift --> Win Storm is really making this impossible.

    Do you think that leveling MNMags, Thor (feels like Ares green is suicide) and OBW will make a difference or will I just get destroyed in the next ones before I get GSBW (I need her to finish up Villains)
  • I just gave the best effort I could with the 3 best teams I could field, and not only is it just a ridiculous slaughter, but it didn't scale the node down even a single level on even 1 character. All still the same trio at 178. My best effort had me barely take down c.storm. *sigh*

    Oh well, you can't win them all.

    That node is level 314/315/315 for me. Looking at these levels, it sure looks like the level of the opponent is rather arbitary.

    Do the later uncompleted nodes level up if we were to go back to earlier completed nodes to repeat for rewards?

    I just finished the villains sub and I didn't get awarded the Classic Storm cover, as I didn't accumulate enough points. Now, I'm not terribly upset, because I don't really need that cover, but it worries me a bit for the future subs, where I do want the BP cover, for example. And while you can replay a mission for the prizes, it doesn't award any more points for progression within the sub.

    Has this happened to anyone? Is there a way around it?
  • You'll have to completely do all the missions in a sub to get the last reward. Lack of a required character will lock you out of a subs final progression reward. If you completely cleared every mission, probably time to open a ticket.

    I had this exact same problem with similar levels (I'm in the middle of 2>3 transition as well), but, eventually got through it. I used MNMags, Ares, and my level 43 3* Cap (only has a red & blue cover).

    The key for me was using +3 Purple/Blue boost and then using MNMags Purple power to power Cap's blue and keep the other team stunned. You can also use Mag's blue to remove countdown or strike tiles, play keep away with the other team's AP, and/or setup green matches to stockpile Ares Green. I got a little lucky with the way some things fell and I also had a 150ish TU for Black Panther's Yellow that put me over the top. If you can stockpile enough blue to get 2 stuns out at once, you can probably sneak through.

    The final progression reward for the sub can be obtained by completing all of the nodes on that sub, including the nodes on the side branches. Have you cleared all the essential (requires Punisher) nodes?

    I'm glad I came to read this thread.

    I was going to post about how screwed up it was that you are required to have a 3* cover to get a 2* cover. But I just discovered from this thread that the event continues for 2 more subs. I'd actually given up because I didn't think I could get the 2* Storm cover when I saw Punisher was required. So weird how things are hidden like that.

    Unfortunately the absolute requirement that you have a specific cover means many people will never be able to complete it. But it sounds like the later levels are so tough that's not going to matter much, anyway.

    I don't know what language your client is in but its right there when you enter the first sub.

    I am really enjoying this event, but seriously, the scaling has to go. Enemy levels already increase as you reach new missions, it makes zero sense to keep increasing them due to the fact that you're winning. Set enemy levels based on roster at the start of the event and then fix them at those levels. (Which, honestly, I assumed was what they did from Demiurge_Will's comments earlier in the thread.)

    I just would really like to have an event where I can play and perhaps beat up on some goons without having to worry about my enemy levels going up just because I'm winning matches too quickly or not taking enough damage.

    I'm choosing to believe there's either no community scaling or that it's a bug because in this kind of event community scaling would make less than zero sense.

    Spoke too soon. Progression doesn't carry over, so yes: you do need a 3* cover to get a 2* cover.

    It's not community scaling because I'm not seeing any nodes in my completed brackets spontaneously go up, which would be the case if there's community scaling. But there's definitely something to cause new nodes to go up that isn't just dependent on what your roster was at the start of the event.
