    Did you upgrade anyone with iso? I lost the same node 3 times and while I waited for health packs to regen (and used them during my last hour blitz to 700 in PvP) it stayed the exact same level. Based on other comments here I think everything may be based on your roster alone, so maybe this is an event where upgrading no one is the best action.

    In other news I finally passed that LThor/mBW/Mohawk node. Thanks Phantron! I used Punisher/MMN/Ares and boosted +3b/p and +3 r/y. Got a 136 Demo to replace my 70 so I'm happy. Essential 10 and Sim 35 are where I will start tomorrow. This event is way more challenging than the sim for sure, definitely feel like I'm earning these covers.

    Since most of the nodes are giving big iso now, I don't even feel the slightest pause to boost every node +3 blue/purple when I can run MMN/cStorm. I like to save the +All if I can HP is much harder to come by than iso. Can't farm the prologue with my old 1* team for HP...

    Well my sim 15 was 145/146/146 overnight but I have cleared most of Heros now it stands at 175/175/175

    Was just going to say the same thing, scaling appears to be based on your progression which is weird. If I'd have known that I'd have spent the first 2 days farming those node rewards before making things that much harder,
  • My absolute favorite part of this PVE event is that I'm not afraid of losing and wasting medkits or worried about a strict timetable I need to meet. In theory, this is a great model and I hope that we see it more often.
  • My nodes for the villian bracket hasn't changed and I didn't write down the level of nodes for the other two brackets. If they've been going up it's got to be a mistake because it literally makes no sense to have additional scaling in an event with no rubberbanding and no repeatable nodes. The first node in the 3rd set for me is around 250 now. Maybe they forgot to turn off community scaling for the other two brackets?

    Somewhere around the middle of the second bracket enemies are way too high level to not take The Hood. Sure they maul The Hood with just their regular matches at this point but their moves are too strong for you to take chances with any AP consuming moves and the teams you fight generally have most of the colors covered so you can't deny everything. Some of them even have goons generating AP on a primary attack color so you can't deny that at all. Also predictably enough character with true healing (Patch, X Force, Daken) pretty much has to be there for an event like this or you'll never have enough health packs to get anywhere. Daken + Falcon still works if the enemy doesn't have strong moves in 4+ colors but if they do you just can't trade hits against guys who do more damage on match 3 than Daken will regen.

    I suspect a team of high HP characters will do surprisingly well against the later nodes, or as well as any team without The Hood can expect to last against level 200+ enemies, but I don't have the health packs to try that so The Hood is never leaving the lineup unless forced to. I got a lot of mileage out of Captain America, Black Panther, and Nick Fury when I don't have my standard go to team to use, but they get beat up pretty fast and takes a long time to recover.

    Simulator 14, Sentry / Daken / Hood node, playing as Wolveroach, with his 2* roster against their level 67.

    We're down to 1 character each, Sentry against Thor. Thor's down to not a lot, Sentry's down to a little more, and casts World Rupture. No tiles for decent matches, no special attacks, the end is nigh. One move each. Thor is about to go down. Makes a move. Here it comes. Sacrifice, Sentry suicides wiping out his imminent victory. ****?

    Please devs, never, ever change this.

    I just want to add my voice to the ones saying that I really enjoy this PvE event. With school back in session for me, I no longer have the ability to guarantee the ability to be available for the end of an event, nor do I feel constant pressure to check in every couple of hours to do a round of nodes. I can play at my pace, suffering a few battles with horrible luck doesn't kill my chance at placing well, and I never get that sense that I can't win simply because I'm outmatched. The nodes are challenging, but not impossible, and the rewards feel like I'm actually achieving something, since I have to beat every node for every reward. Bravo to whoever came up with this, and I hope to see more like them.
  • This is the best PVE they've run in a while. I'm playing against myself. No alliance need/requirement. Just me... kinda like... ACTUAL PVE!

    The scaling seems based solely on my success vs. failure in the event, I'm sure roster level plays a part in determining the starting point, but it seems to move based on how efficiently you're clearing nodes as an individual.
  • Also, I like that I can go back and replay the "easy nodes" to farm iso/etc still. Good value here, and with a ton to choose from, always something to play.

    I cannot beat the tinykitty sentry/hood/daken node!

    They are at 122, my best characters are both 153 (patch and punisher, patch missing the 5th yellow and punisher missing the 5th red) and I just get wiped out everytime...

    EDIT:

    FINALLY. Wiped 3 times.

    Just boosted a bunch, went with my punisher, max MN Mags and **Storm and repeatedly went for Polarity Shift->Wind Storm combos and finally got a board that wasn't 3 match 5 cacades in one move for the other team (NOT A JOKE OR EXAGGERATION) for the other team followed by 2 turns of World Rupture, Supernova and Chemical Reaction.

    Good to remind myself why I always just skip them in PVP I guess. icon_rolleyes.gif

    Though I liked the new changes except the difficulty (i dont enjoy getting wiped), i still hope this is just a once in a blue moon event, a comma in a sentence.

    My alliance is PVE only, it is the only one thing that united the alliance. So if this will be the PVE mode from now on, then there is no longer any purpose in having my alliance. That or dev will need to give alliance reward revolving around the number of members that cleared the subs, it is non competitive with other alliance which is in the same spirit of the event, but it still means members can size up their progress internally and it can be a factor to push a little bit harder to benefit your alliance.

    there isn't really a synergy between patch and punisher. the greens will be used by punisher. the reds by punisher. only black is not being fought over.
    not sure who your 3rd character is.. but looking for yellow, purple, and blue for best coverage, CMags? Cmags gonna take a lot of hits (depending on how high his level is vs Patch' yellow).

    in anycase, kill Hood first.
    deny green to AI.

    do you have other combination?

    Pros

    no pressure to compete
    I can play any time I want according to my schedule
    I got the BP blue cover I needed at 2nd sub instead of 3rd.


    Cons

    The harder sim 3* cover is pretty weak sauce
    lack of Event token reward greatly decreasing chance for 3* covers

    Summary

    I'll take this event over any other PvE mode any time

    Nope I just had my **** handed to be by lvl 330 ones. Was about 50 50 when out comes the AI TU and it was all over.
  • At the end of the finale the thing I found that worked the best was fury, punisher and lthor. Fury and punisher tank all colors and Thor stand in back not taking any damage until one of the other 2 go down.

    Also could someone who is finished post the team combinations like Northern Polarity (I think) did earlier, it would be useful to a whole bunch of us I'm sure.

    Edit: I see lots of Anon pop up as I edit a bit, it's color coded and has my current costs for all skills if anyone wants to download for their use. X means I'm missing a skill (or it's the 3rd match for a 2-color character), P is for passives.
    I also got hit hard on this one. With health packs all used up, I used hulk patch & s Rogers. Mega cascade leading to ai abilities took out 5000 for sr, 9000 for hulk & 7000 for patch. All dead.

    I cheesed it with Sentry/Daken/Punisher still need a Retribution to finish of IM35 after a lvl 5 world Rupture and strike tiles. Juggs single shot Daken with his Headbutt. Closing in on the end however.
