I don't know what language your client is in but its right there when you enter the first sub.
You POPUP mean POPUP the popup POPUP that appears POPUP each time POPUP you POPUP enter the POPUP event?

Yeah I don't read those anymore. icon_e_smile.gif I'm way past auto-clicking those off automatically, and I've been playing less than a month. WAY too many popups to pay attention to a specific one. Thanks for pointing it out, though! You're right in that if you bother to read the spam apparently it can be useful once or twice in a thousand times.

I initially thought the punisher/cstorm/sentry level would be impossible with my own cstorm and punisher unavailable. Being a 2** --> 3*** transition player I'm weak in depth. However, I remembered I'd been saving deadpool points for the past month or so. If you have them saved up and boost purple that's a way to sneak past a few of these insane levels.

I haven't dusted off dp enough to have accumulated points enough for whales. Doh! At 1/1/2 he's more a liability in most nodes, plus I just never remember on the off chance I do see an easy node. Good thought tho.

Perhaps I'll try wiping on it every few hours in the hopes of a lucky run while trying to reduce the scaling.

Having nodes based on the few strong toons you have locking you out of the most meaningful rewards is... annoying.

A while ago I started playing DP in the first prologue mission every day just to get DP points.
  • Beat the cStorm/Punisher/Sentry node after 4 tries using Hood/OBW/2*Thor and boosting +3 blue/purple. Got a good amount of purple to start and cascaded into Thor, let them get AP a couple turns, then recon into Thunder Strike/CoTS. OBW takes black, and just held onto my Anti-Gravity until I got a hurt a bit.

Killed cStorm first (Thor's abilities didn't trigger her yellow for me), then Sentry, and Punisher.

Here's the breakdown of the Finale so far for anyone behind me in progress:
    Sim 29: Daredevil, Muscle, Analyst
    Sim 30: Hood, Commander, Beast
Sim 31: Nick Fury, LThor, X-Force
    Sim 32: Subject, X-Force, Grenadier
    Sim 33: Soldier, Empiricist, Muscle
    Sim 34: Punisher, Sentry, Storm
Sim 35: Nick Fury, Commander, Spy
  • So with this event. I have some ISO saved up for some toons here...any advice on how to level up my guys while at the same time keeping the difficulty level relatively stable. My punisher is 156 in the event, next highest normal is a patch at 128...the rest of my toons are 94 and below. I think the event is scaling according to the punisher, but i am not sure. I am thinking of dropping iso on my 3* black widow (who's 66 currently) to help out with the event. Her cap is about 110.

just curious on the thoughts on scaling pretty much and using iso in the event. Because i am afraid of spending more on my punisher to make the scaling go even more wackier and out of reach.

Just got demolished by that team, cascade in to Wind Storm in to Supernova... Death!

According to what D3 posted the levels don't change after you enter a bracket. However the scaling in this event is likely pretty harsh toward the end and it's not something you can do 1on3 even with a maxed out Punisher so if you're trying to get somewhere you should look more into the supporting guys (say, The Hood). Don't spend iso until you run into some kind of bottleneck.

    Sim 39: Deadpool, Ares, OBW
  • Phantron - Thanks for the reply. I've not hit an absolute bottleneck yet. I'm 2 missions in on the Finale bracket, and i am running up against lvl 140ish toons, v. my 156 punisher and 130 magneto & storm. Am sure i can beat the next one, but going forward it has me a bit leery. I dont intend on dropping any more iso on hte punisher. If anything it will go to OBW. My hood is way too low and hardly any covers so cant compete w/ these guys. Just hope i can finish it. Have a couple more days to see it through.

I can finish off the mainline ones for you:

Sim 40: Modern Black Widow, Juggernaut, IM35
    Sim 41: 3*Thor, Bullseye, She-Hulk
Sim 42: X-Force Wolv, Sentry, OBW (level 351 for me. Ouch)
  • This is my favorite event in a long time.

In normal PvE events, seeing those nodes with super-hard enemies just makes me not want to do them, because I know that I'd need to grind them repeatedly in order to get anything meaningful, and that eats up a lot of healthpacks/boosts.

But here, the fact that each node is a one-time challenge makes me want to go for it, even when I know it'll be a rough fight.

Please do more events like this in the future.
  • Awesome pve, but there is one oversight. There should not be iso 20 rewards until the 4 node rewards are won. These nodes are too numerous and difficult for that bit of nonsense.

I definitely like this as a bit of pve version of LR, and think one should run each week similar to the LR's.

Lastly, this is how ALL pve rewards should be at least until the time zone issue is resolved.
  • I'm bad enough to understand Storm Classic.

I am very upset and am having issues, but for the future, can we limit this to BP? That would be awesome.
  • Still love the event, but damn some of these are hard. It's a challenge

I just finished the villains sub and I didn't get awarded the Classic Storm cover, as I didn't accumulate enough points. Now, I'm not terribly upset, because I don't really need that cover, but it worries me a bit for the future subs, where I do want the BP cover, for example. And while you can replay a mission for the prizes, it doesn't award any more points for progression within the sub.

Has this happened to anyone? Is there a way around it?
The final progression reward for the sub can be obtained by completing all of the nodes on that sub, including the nodes on the side branches. Have you cleared all the essential (requires Punisher) nodes?

Yup, I've completed every node, but the points I was awarded total wasn't quite enough to get Classic Storm. Like I said, I don't need her really, but it makes me a little worried about the following sub if this were to happen again.

    I agree.
  • So I did Simulation 39 which was level 380, and after beating it it is now level 395, so it looks like missions go up as you beat them. Simulation 40 and up are level 395s if you have someone at level 270 (and 39 as well if you redo it). It seems like only the mission you beat goes up while the rest are unchanged because the first node in finale is still 295 for me.

This event is just incredibly stupid if you have a level 270 character. Sure, X Force is powerful, but it hardly matters when your opponent can wipe out his support with match 3s thanks to their elevated levels due to X Force's presence, and there are quite a few Wolverines on the opposing side, so you can't even use him. I'm not sure he's better than the level 256 Punisher in this event, though he's better against 300+s because Surgical Strike can drain AP which is absolutely crucial against enemies of that range.
  • For those interested in data, here's my node difficulties based on my roster:
    Gauntlet - Villains (node# - enemy lvl)
    02 - 43
    03 - 55
    04 - 70
    05 - 75
    06 - 77
    07 -78
    08 - 79
    09 - 83
    10 - 85
    11 - 90
    12 - 91
    13 - 94
    14 - 90

    essential

    1 - 72, 2 - 72, 3- 75, 4 - 79, 5 -79, 6 - 88

    My roster: 3* Cmags 130, Lcap 125, Hulk 117, BP 114, 2*Ares/Wolvie/OBW/Thor maxed @ 94, most everyone else under lvl 55.

Looks like the first nodes start the same then scale up on progressive node according to relative roster strength.

I may or may not finish -- Heroes is proving a challenge for me as I'm limited in roster depth, but I like this event. Whether I get a 3* cover or not, I did get one substantial progression award: A FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP.

That's big progress over previous PVE for me. icon_e_smile.gif

They really need to revisit the level cap for enemies. 395 is too high now that the character changes have gone through. I'm thinking 295 would be sufficient to provide a challenge to top-level rosters; any higher and you almost have to rely on luck.

It's not just the level of the enemies. It's that they're decided on a rather arbitary basis. If you have X Force at level 270 everything is much harder by at least 30 levels (if not more). X Force is powerful but he's not enough to make up a 90 total level difference, so you're punished for having X Force at level 270 and you can't exactly sell him either. Normally the community scaling serves as a floor and it usually smooths out any initial problem with scaling but there's no community scaling in this event.

I know they want everyone to have a chance but right now it's often disadvantageous to have a developed roster. There's also always the problem of how all enemies are scaled on your character's level, not boosted level, and yet when a major boosted character gets +90 levels he's far more powerful at a low level (say, 40 to 130 is about triple in power) then high level (156 to 256 is only 66% more power).
  • I just brought up the game to start real steel, but noticed I'm #651 in the finale. 650 people have passed the node I'm locked out of, or got stuck at it first. In a bracket of 1k, that suddenly makes me feel pretty chappy about my roster and all I've put into it.

I can't help but wonder if having 3 toons at 100 isn't hurting me more than helping me atm...
