These brackets are so tinykitty. I was going to skip this PVE entirely, but decided to do a little and figured if I joined today, I might get into a relatively easy main bracket. So I joined about four hours ago, only to find that the leader was already at 20k points, an insurmountable lead unless there is massive RB at the end of the event in the main nodes. To add to that, in the last 3.5 hours, only 100 people have been added to the bracket. I don't recognize many of the leaders and the current leader is far behind the highest scores in the PVE, so I can't say that I've been sharded into a death bracket. But it sure doesn't make any sense.

Either one of the two outcomes happened:

    1) You were sharded into a mid/high PvE MMR bracket, in which the system is only looking for mid/high PvE MMR players to fill.
    2) Less than 2000 players have joined the main event since the bracket opened.

Personally, #2 seems highly implausible. Especially since 20k points was not possible from the last sub alone, which would mean that the bracket has been open for at least 26+ hours without filling.

The system is definitely filtering you away from everyone else into a "latecomer's penalty box". Fortunately, pacing is suggesting 30-36 hours of global rubberband, which should be plenty to catch up with the 20k leader. Still, sharding to protect the "new player experience" from the "evil" 166s is a rather dubious practice at best.
You probably are right. My bracket is now at 1567. Nine hours ago, it was at 1351.

Well, I think it's somewhat unreasonable to expect to breeze through any PvE sub without encountering at least one health pack-inducing node. Aside from the fact that high level nodes are basically the only way the game can challenge players atm, they have been pushing for health pack usage for quite some time now
Near equal level opponents wont often beat players in pve, so you could say its not a challenge to the players.

However, I find the challenge to be sweeping the pve event with needing as little healthpacks is possible so I can save them for pvp an enjoyable challenge. I do not enjoy seeing one cascade and then doing 1 damage with matches for a long time, and I don't actually find it particularly challenging - if it were forty levels lower it would be a challenge.

As is, I just avoid it.

Yes, from a player's perspective, we all want to save health packs for PvP pushes. But that isn't in the best interest of their business. This is why one hero's PvP will always coincide with said hero being featured in a concurrent PvE, and often the two events will end at the same time.

And yes, making encounters particularly annoying with enemies like uber-scaled Bullseye is another way they try to present players with a challenge.
  • I've hit the "coasting" phase of the PVE. I didn't start the new sub until this morning, skipped the hardest two nodes, and - while I'll probably keep playing semi-optimally while skipping any problematic nodes, my priorities are basically 1) top 300 for blue Spidey, 2) keep scaling reined in, 3)save health packs for PVP, 4) save needed characters for PVP.

You forgot to still get top 50 in the subs so you can get extra HP for shield hopping in PVP. I am trying to do the same thing but stay top 40. I need more Spidy purple and if I get 2 then he might not be useless when he is buffed in the next PVE for me.
  • I forget. Is the TaT main node the one that doesnt rubberband? I remember one of these events that didnt have rubberbanding at the end.
  • I think D3 has wisen up and realize that there should not be rbing in main node.

So it looks like rb is on for the main but they lock out after one play. I made up about 5k on the leader after playing 5 nodes.

Anyone play the essential nodes yet and are they repeatable? I don't want to keep burning nodes until the end and let rb work for me icon_e_smile.gif

Nope, nothing in the main is repeatable.
I just hit 40K with a few nodes in the main and won't touch PVE again. Well, except for getting T300 for that one token per sub lol.

So long for the strategy, today it's sunday, I want to play and I want to have fun icon_cool.gif
icon_arrow.gif I mean, I'm going to play all the nodes now!

hey Bowgentle I just see that our two alliances are at the same depth on the leaderboard (i.e. pretty deep icon_e_smile.gif ); has Django turned casual? icon_razz.gif

Same, but I'll give that a whirl just for 500 iso's...

Yeah, I'll try again later but I forgot I had people injured since I did a small come in Tex-Mex while waking up. Won't be doing that PvP until later tonight since I want to take a break during the day.

After coming third in the previous PVE where we cared about the rewards, we decided to take this one off to recover lol.

My only fear is the longer I delay it (facing Magneto+The Hood), the higher the level scaling will be. Atm, my roster is in the middle of the process of healing.
  • ugh, so almost no rubberbanding?
Now I need to grind the last few subs for the spidey covers and hope the people play through the main right now.

More than 20k behind leader atm and Peak a Boo node is still worth 1480 points for me. No rb or you must be really behind then?

Edit: Didnt see your post Sumilea, somehow it didnt appear when I was posting mine. Thanks.
