Roster progress report, and plans for your roster

So...I have one cover left for Heimdall and then all Classics are done! Mayday is done! So moving forward it will only be next 3 latest which I seem to have been able to cover OK.

So I am wondering what to do next CP wise. Even though the Classics are done a fair few need champing - Iso is a big issue. Do I just hoard or spend to add champ levels?

Before the increased odds of the chosen few in Classics came along, I used to pull as I went along, but had a stockpile to use to make sure I could champ the new 5* when it entered tokens. Now I can do that with LL only, I hoard CP and spend all but 300 CP when the rotation of the Classics happens at the start of the new Season.

At the same time I set a target level for the next one out of LL and pull until they get that level before stopping and hoarding. This means my LLs should all be in the higher levels of my roster before going into the diluted Classics pool.

What is interesting is the difference in rewards between seasons. Last season was around 90 LTs and 1400CP, compared to 160LT and 1800 CP the season before work a similar level of effort. I'm around 1m ISO down from the previous season but this has been a steady reduction for the last 5 seasons. This may be the compound effects of Ascension as I'm ascending fewer characters at natural 3☆ and below and the reward flows are slower. I'm also more particular about who I ascend from the 4☆ tier now too, as I'm only ascending those I want to use whose dupe is over 290.

Am I wasting my tokens. Trying to get enough shares to get 4 star juggie to 13 covers. Then taking him and merging with my 370 4 star juggie to make him 5 star

Though I doubt be better than my 1 star 540 juggiev

T100 alliance and usually a Bugle Pittance per month for bonus rewards, but may get the occasional cheap bundle.

I am not a competitive player, but I would say I'm more than casual too, stuck somewhere in the middle of the both. I'm mainly PVE, playing SCL10, and I complete all PVE events everyday and hit every node until the timers reset. Because of life, I can't always hit the last 2 clears of each node but I make sure I finish in the top 200. Always finish my Deadpool Dailies (all nodes) and only play PVP for 25 wins.

All characters rostered, excluding 1 star characters. 356 roster slots.

5s - 24 characters champed, highest level is Shang-Chi at 468. Four other characters sitting at 13 covers, all other 5s sitting between 2 and 10 covers.

4s - large portion of them champed, sitting at 27 left to champ. All characters waiting on the ISO have minimum 13 covers + 10 saved covers, excluding Peni.

3s - All 'original' 3 star characters are max champed with a dupe. Since the release of new 3 star characters, I haven't max champed or duped any as of yet. Some are nearing max and will get duped when possible. I'm not prioritising this though.

2s - I keep Thor, Mags and Storm at 144 for Deadpool Dailies, but are duped. All other 2s get flip farmed.

Supports - Post Red ISO. All supports are levelled as high as they can be. I have three R5 supports (Chimichanga, Arc Reactor & Atlantis), 11 R4 supports, and the rest between R1-3. Currently hoarding tokens for the rework system in case of shards.

Current goals:

Finish champing the 4 star tier. I was hoping to complete that by the end of this year, but I reckon I'll fall a bit short.

Pulling on the LL train, so making sure I get the latest to 13 covers each, or close enough to finish with feeders. Not prioritising champing unless a new meta comes along. Only using LL tokens to do this, hoarding all CP for anniversary.

Hoping for a decent anniversary vault. If Shang (my most used character) is featured with hopefully Okoye, I'll

hoard break all my CP and aim to get him to level 500 (or as close to as possible), and additional levels on Okoye are always good.

After anniversary, start the long goal of 450 champing all 5s.

I'm probably not making the best use of my resources with the choices I'm making, but I don't feel like I'd be making any regrets.

Been another year, today is my 5 year anniversary! I've had a very good year and just posting so I can look back on my progress again next year.

Current stats: Shield Rank 237, HP 142k, CP 4.4k, ISO 200K. 471 heroes rostered and 23 open spots.

5 stars: Lots of progress here! 58 are now champed, and 7 550s! Managed to 550 Shang a month or so after the 10 year anniversary and then made the full 550 jump with an unhoard on Aunt May, May Parker and Jubilee, and at the same time managed to bring Omega Red, Mighty Thor and Okoye up to 550.

4 stars: All rostered and all champed. Only one Ascended, M'Baku sitting at 476, and 12 max champed. Going for the max-max method in ascension, so not a lot of progress is being made here.

3 stars: Slowly ascending all of them, max-max. 46 have currently been ascended to 4 stars.

2 stars: Kept a max Storm, Mags and 1a2 Juggernaut for Deadpool Daily.

1 stars: Most ascended to 5 star, just missing Yelena. Spiderman and Iron Man should be reaching level 550 likely next week.

Supports: Now sitting on 13 R5 supports and 23 at R4.

Current goals: Starting the long hoard again for the next 550 break. I've left the LL train as 450 champs just won't compete with the rest of my roster now.

Trying to fully cover the rest of my unchamped 5s by chasing feeders which is going well with bonus shards.

Ascend everything! As I don't hoard break I don't make much progress on my 4s though, so it'll be a long time before I get the likes of Polaris/Juggs at max-max.

1s: None rostered. No longer a need since the DDQ changes.

Plans going forward are to keep pace with the 3 releases and catch up with the missing 4s. Hopefully I'll get a few more 4s champed too.

Quite a while since the last update. Still free-to-play but made good progress since the last update.

5s: 51 - MThor the highest with 10 covers
4s: 101 rostered. 42 champed - Deathlok the highest at 289.
3s: 55/56 rostered. Just need Spider-Rex who was released in the last few days.

Farming both my 2s & 3s where I can as very much in the ISO drought now.

Currently 82 characters left to roster so only plan is to continue chipping away at that and hopefully add some more covers to existing 5*s to make SCL10 easier.

Shang Chi (5 covers) and MThor (10 covers) are doing a lot of the heavy lifting in both PVE and PVP to allow me to progress at SCL10

66 characters left to roster. I'd like to keep chipping away at the 5*s. Playing at SCL10 has really helped progress there since the last update.

Still a long way off having everyone rostered but getting there slowly.

Only have 38 characters left to recruit. I'm not interested in ascending characters yet so I'll sell the two 1*s once they've hit their max level.

All of my 4s have the shards to recruit once I have a roster slot available so my main plan for the rest of the year is to get those on to my roster. It'd be nice to get some of those missing / obscure 5s too.

A little ambitious maybe but I'd like to hit 300 roster slots by the end of the year.

I'm getting that little bit closer to having every character rostered.

Today is day 968 - still F2P.

1*s: 6/8 (Black Widow and Juggernaut missing)

I'm not sure how quickly I'll get those last few on the roster. I'm still a little way off my three year anniversary of playing so I guess I'd like to be up to date by that point.

Then the next stage of the roster-strengthening begins and I'll slowly start getting the remaining 4's champed and 5's levelled up. With the exception of a few in the 300's, most of my 5's are low level and don't have many covers either.

Roughly six months on from the last update: day 1133 today! Still F2P.

Everyone is now rostered with the exception of:
5* Captain America: First Avenger - not sure if he has a feeder?
2* Headpool - I have 10 covers but don't have the HP to recruit yet.

I'm almost at parity with roster slots (351) v characters in the game (352) so now it's just about maintaining that parity and building up those 4s and 5s.

89 of my 4*s have been champed so far so I'd like to surpass 100 in the weeks ahead. Hopefully the current double ISO will speed up the process.

I find this baffling also. Why would you not want to try out champed 5s if you have spent all this effort getting covers? Sorry Skittle, no offence meant this just bamboozled me. It's like never hitting top gear driving a car.

Like many goals, I did it just to see if I could. To see if it was even possible to obtain such a threshold without the benefit of 5* champs.
I won't pretend that it makes sense. Very little about my playstyle does. I'm just here to share with the few other soft-cappers left that it is possible, even if it is insane.
I have zero interest in learning a "new" game by entering 5* Land. None whatsoever. I'm closer to retirement than I am to ever taking that step. My "car" runs just fine without hitting top gear.

I went from never expecting I could champ all the 4s, to never expecting I could fully-cover all the 5s, to never expect I could get 100 saved covers on a single 5 (let alone on three). Short of simply adding more 5s to the 100 saved covers list, there is effectively nothing else for me to play for and still uphold my desired identity of a F2P soft-capper.

I find this part confusing as well. If you're thinking about quiting then why not champ those 5's and see if jumping into the top tier of play revitalizes your interest. If not, you were gonna quit anyway so nothing lost. If so, you found a new way to play and have fun. To each their own, that's just my view.

It also opens up the "bonus" of ascension - the joy of 4a5 Juggs and R4G5 for example in PvE clears is very satisfying. Might as well try it and if you hate it and are gonna quit anyway nothing lost.

During the anniversary, I opened over 200 tokens I had been saving and did a lot of spending of CP on Legendary stores to raise some of my meta/most wanted 5*s. Here's an update and I'm feeling good!

Champed 5*s:
Okoye, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi, BRB, Agatha, Colossus, MThor

13 cover 5*s (whether 13 covers or covers+shards>=13):
Chasm, Deadpool, Electro, Kitty, Kang, OML, Golden May, Hotpool, Jubilee, Kaine Parker, May Parker, Nova, Phyla-Vell, and Silver Surfer.

All 4*s rostered and almost all 13 covers or champed. No 4->5 ascensions yet, but my first aims will be Juggs, Polaris, Grocket.

OmegaRed is 143 shards away from 13
5Hawkeye is at 12 and I currently have Ronin and 3Hawkguy favorited to get 5HE to 13.
And then the 5*s I plan on working on soon are Riri, SW (both at 1 cover, Riri with 2400 shards)

I'm definitely on the LL train of opening for max covers on each of the oldest ones before they leave the LL store.
Also, I only level up my unchamped 4s if they have a Crash or if they feed a 5 I'm currently chasing with shards or they help with a meta I just learned about.
Also also, I'm finally feeling like I can do both PVE to progression and beyond easily and PVP to 25 and SHIELD Simulator a decent amount against harder teams now.

Current alliance is NJLEarthPVE, in case anyone has any other advice, haha!

I am working on getting through my remaining unchamped 5's and managed to tick off Black Suit Spidey in time for his boost list. The most surprising thing is that OK, he is sorely in need of help but he was actually usable boosted which was a very nice surprise! I actually used him more than Jesus Cap who was also boosted! Now rebalance the hell outta him!

I also yesterday added Nova to my champs. I have heard mixed things but I had plenty of saved covers so I figured why not?

Of course I still have the short measure of some 10 - 11 million iso for this lot! The 4's are not an issue as I think I only have 2 not champed not counting today's release.

I champed Green Goblin so I had a Dark Avenger 5* and also champed Iron Man and Mephisto, so it is coming down. I also now have three 500+ characters in Shang, Jane and Kitty with Okoye knocking on the door. That has put me in 550 territory but it isn't too bad so far. After I cover and champ Namor I might go after First Cap next now he has a couple of saved covers. 4* wise on Annihilus is fully covered with 3000+ shards plus covers but he is terrible so will be a purely champ level investment. I also ascended Car4l and champed Purple Man.

A few months on and it is starting to get real.

In terms of 5* only Hobgoblin and now Juggerduck are not fully covered.

In terms of unchamped 5* only the following left:

Loki, First Captain, Doc Ok, Sersi, Kaine, Odin, Gamora and as of today Gorgon. Sure it's mostly a festering pool of mediocrity but I am nearly there so can't stop now. Just. Need. Iso.

4* wise I am continuing to ignore Luna Snow and as I was very certain that Sidewinder couldn't stay as he was I didn't chase him at all so those two plus Lackoffistdevil are all that is left there.

So all of this means I now need a proper plan for ascension.

Whelp, about a month later and we are getting there.

Down to Loki, Sersi, Odin, Gamora and Gorgon. I finished Hobgoblin and decided I would champ him next as he isn't bad and he also bags me the 100 Champ 5* milestone and a tasty 100CP. It could'a been Pete but alas not to be.

If I can continue a pace of 3 per month I should be done with the 5's apart from latest pretty soon which is a bit bonkers considering I took forever to get to 5* land.
