Like everyone else no-one can prove to the community that they are not cheating, even the upstanding players like wyp, nemek etc (clearly i'm not calling you out for cheating guys quite the opposite )
But I see how all the x-men play and in some cases spend big (usually newer players who want to catch up), and don't suspect any of them of cheating. Plenty of people know how you can score big without a deep roster, or build a roster with deep pockets, so the witch-hunt isn't justified.
Let's face it there are big spenders scattered through the game in most top alliances - it's part of the system and keeps it going. If you're that interested in my spending habits I use about 800hp per PvP on shields on average and get half back in rewards & drops. Happy to pay that for my entertainment, and if I wasn't UK with 5am finishes would spend less. For a bit of context I spend more daily in Starbucks!
I'm far from the first one to say this, but this forum used to be way more friendly
And let me remind you, it was Naz who acted LESS FRIENDLY in this post all the time.0 -

Loool you clearly don't know who I am or how long I have been about. I have had to sell 2* to fund maxing my guys, tank LRS in the past to level my guys, I was here when 20 covers was what you needed to max my guys. I used to grind prologue mission 1 for 20iso. I have taken part in every single event and won rewards. So yea I ain't spent nada but you wouldn't know that because your very new the game and to catch up you need to spend money I get that but don't assume others have.
Beee has been around a long time. I also want to emphasize that we have very thrifty players in S.H.I.E.L.D0 -

Regarding the topic at hand (sort of), after reading 13 posts bickering about scores and such, I'm just glad that SHIELD isn't trying for top 2 anymore. Random math tidbit that I wanted to post back in some other thread with X-Men flaming us:
Scenario 1
If you want to be in a top 2 alliance, you're expected to put up at least ~1100 every tournament, which isn't comfortably attained unless you shield at least twice (once at ~950, once at 1100). Say you do this optimally and schedule time at the 3/6 hour mark to do this. As a result from doing this, you gain 250 HP + 100 HP from placement + 50HP from the progression - 150 in shield cost on average. = +250HP.
Scenario 2 - Relatively common case if you have the buffed hero and don't care about covers, gets higher as your roster is more developed.
Just grind to 900 and straight up not shield. If you have the buffed character, this would drop you down to ~750, which is probably still good enough for 25 in an average bracket. 100HP from alliances + 100HP from placement + 50 HP in progression = 250HP in profit.
Scenario 3 - Typical case if you want to get top 10 for covers.
Grind up to 900 in the last 3 hours and shield. 100HP from alliances + 100HP from placement + 50 HP in progression - 75HP = 175HP in profit.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that the top 2 alliances only get 150HP more than the top 50, and 75HP at least must be spent on an extra shield that you wouldn't have used otherwise grinding up to the minimum point threshold of ~1000 points. Coupled with the increased burden of actually having to perform in all tournaments and time spent meticulously shield hopping/working your schedule around the final pushes in order to maximize HP gains, I can't see myself ever playing in that way ever again. I think there was a time (last school year), where I had a lot of free time and did so simply because I had nothing else to do, but working 8 hour days at my internship has made me realize that it's pretty crazy to commit yourself to that level and spend a ridiculous amount of extra hours for something like an extra 75HP in prizes every tournament, which amounts to something like under a dollar every 3 days. Likewise, it seems silly to be attacking everyone and challenging others to fight you for the number one spot with this in mind: the top 2 spots just feel really like nothing more than bragging rights for a game that doesn't really take much else besides money and time to do well in.
Agreed with a lot of your comments but some 5dv members have made a new scenario. Start 0 til at least 1.1k to use 1 shield than hop once if necessary. Doing this gets me above 1200. Last pvp got to 1149 with no shields and pvp before got to 1209 before using my first shield. So I don't spend money and as far as pvp score maybe 2 hours give or take on time so not much for that. I also start at earliest 12 hours before the end unless lr issue comes up. Most of my gaming time is pve which lately sucks and lr which i grind but is fun I often use 1 shield and break 1200. But some of us are crazy and most people don't use this method.0 -

Just for clarification, this is a 3 hour shield correct? Times must have changed since back in the day because I remember it being near impossible to get past 1050 at the 3 hour mark if you were grinding from scratch.0 -

There's a roster progression/makeup and player performance style that 99% of players fall into, or are driven into, by the mechanics of the game. When a player has a huge deviation from that, it's perfectly reasonable to be suspicious about it, and when the anti-cheat is performing so poorly, as evidenced by watercat and gbr33, it's reasonable to try other means of bringing to the devs' attention that things may be out of whack.
clf02's roster initially looked to me like nothing but a newbie player who dumped a kittyload of cash into the game as an initial investment and then spent it unwisely to quickly max the first few chars he won. But then he came into this thread with his weird, obvious lies. Why is he making up these cockamamie stories if he's not cheating? What's the saying about being in a hole with a shovel?0 -

We coined this strategy "the Sucram". But don't attempt it at home kids. He's only able to do it because of his speed-hack.
PS: Don't worry KINGsucram, the devs no longer read the forums! You're safe.

Guys I just want to try and make sure we keep this on topic. Let's not try and turn this into some flame war or nit pick about what some of these guys said. To get back on topic about flo98. It just makes absolutely no sense. I mean honestly, That one guy was saying that supposedly flo has sold all their covers to level up the newer guys? Why in the world would anyone do this??? He has both fury covers so he has been around from at least the end of season 1. You are telling me that flo at some point had a ton of 3 stars and 2 stars and then just decided to sell them off?? I just checked right now and it costs about 170,000 to fully level up a 3*. What do you get for selling a max level 141 3*? 25,000. Yes 25,000. Flo obviously has unlimited funds for HP, why in the world would anyone sell ANY cover, leveled or not, for the **** amount of iso you get?? He would just buy iso if he needed it. It's not like he is hurting for HP for roster slots and has to make room for newer characters. There is absolutely no scenario where this makes sense.
Really quickly on the other hand, lets say flo is a new guy, somehow gets in a top alliance right away and within ~35ish days of him playing the game he is already spending thousands of dollars? With no progression of roster whatsoever? He either had to just start opening heroic tokens (or event tokens to be able to get sentry and daken too) until he got one of each cover and then just bought the rest with his unlimited HP. Can you imagine how many tokens you would have to buy in order to get one of each cover that you needed? That right there would have cost a fortune and in the process you would have gotten many many more 2 and 3 star covers that he apparently just sold? Or somehow fostered a 1* team to win the covers from one of the PVP's but if so, where is that team he used? Is it even possible to get top 10 with a 1* team?? Maybe with this new sharding mechanic but still. His roster really makes no sense no matter how you look at it.
I really really liked the idea of constantly checking the top 10 alliances every tourney for cheaters. Not just a quick glace either, really get up in there lol. I think it would do a lot to restore faith in the game and would put any **** like this to rest. It seems like they should try and automate the cheat detection a lot more too. It can't be that hard to notice when someone suddenly has a lot of HP or Iso. Or if they go from having nothing leveled to suddenly having a full roster of 141's. If they haven't paid you, its a hack. It's not that hard. Why it takes till the end of a season to sandbox someone makes no sense whatsoever. Just think of all the lost rewards and unfair attacks that everyone had to endure just because D3 is sitting on their **** about it for a month. It's ridiculous.0 -

Yup just 1 3 hour shield is my goal and I'm usually done with pvp. With tanking it can take about 2 hours I use boosts around 900-1k range. Nodes are worth big pts so it's easier to do it quickly. But don't wanna give all my secrets away0 -
Dear all,
Please send a ticket to d3 if you are free. Perhaps if they suddenly receive a couple of tickets, they will be more inclined to take action immediately.

I'm a fan of better cheat detection. But I don't think it's right to call out people on the forums based on a shallow roster - that's different to someone beating you 3 times in 2 minutes with 2*s (like watercat). With 2 high level characters and multiple shields it's clearly possible to score heavily in PvP legitimately. By all means report to CS, the devs are the only people with the data.
Don't forget that newer players don't know all the game mechanics (let alone the history) and don't make what you and I would see as "optimal" decisions or play the long game. I remember buying that prologue cover, buying iso once and levelling DD as my first fully-covered 3* . Some top players do what we think are crazy things or play the game in a different way, I've seen it first hand.0 -
Good work on the OP, but is there anything fundamentally new really? We know quite from the start that the whole game design is client-based and the server is exposed to any kind of exploits. While D3 never bothers to fix that design, only relies cheater-hunt on reports. And even the latter part shows they are not really equipped for timely and precise response using humans and logs.
No wonder the state is like it is. I personally still see more problems in the overall design (guess everyone knows the 12+ most broken elements), and the winner is clearly the lack of addressing any of the player-observed problems.
Now honestly, if the devs are incapable to apply 5 minutes of correct work to fix the Sunder bug in half a year is it realistic to expect better stuff on the overall tournament structure or cheat handling?
For a long time I consider MYSELF the fool and mostly addict to still launch MPQ and play on.0 -

Possibly the know something about the game we collectors ignore. Maybe the sharding works that way, if you are under X slots you're placed in lamer brackets or the MMR considers that. With the general 'better is worse' attitude of the game design would not be very surprised.0 -

This is what I am wondering though. I was just making my push in the hood tourney and I got flo in a node (this is his millionth hop) I managed to hit him right away and got a pretty awesome cascade causing me to win pretty quickly against that loaner hood of his. I checked after I was done and he apparently had already finished his match and shielded up because he didn't lose any points from my attack. And of course not too long after guess who we see in a node doing his hop? Yep, You guessed it, Gypsy_danger. I'm sorry I will never believe this guy is legit...But ahh sorry, got distracted. Anyways what I meant to say was It would be really nice if we could get flo98 or gypsy even in our pvp bracket and just try and watch how many hops / how fast they win the match. If they unshield and then are getting wins within a minute or less, especially with flo's roster, We know something is up. One of us here has to have had them in our bracket before.0 -

That is another interesting story. Was jimbojim23 actually caught red-handed or just fat-fingered? He definitely lingered around for several months untouched so either case proves the system itself is the problem.0 -

So, yes, it's possible that he can win quickly, but it's not likely to work every single match, not in this tourney against maxed Hoods.0 -
This thread is very interesting and all (thanks for the memes, Twysta, made my morning, they did).
But HOW on earth do you climb to 1100, 1200 even without a single shield? These days I am having trouble climbing uninterrupted to 900-950 even - maybe the timing is wrong, not sure. If you don't want to give away ALL of your secrets, just tell me if tanking plays a major role or not. Pretty please?
Edit: by 'interrupted' I mean like getting attacked every 5 minutes and going 1 step forward 2 steps back.0 -
i tend towards staying out of drama and im not gonna have bickering with anyone of you, xmen included.. What i know, though, is the time, money and effort i put into this game to be competitive (day 238).. certainly there are things i ignored and secrets that are unveiled.. maybe.. but in no way, 2 or 3 guys can come from nowhere, bolster their roster with this rapidity and dominate the leaderboards without expecting to raise eyebrows and suspicion..that said if they are legit (Naz.. i really hope so or you re a disgrace for your team and this community), they have spent an obscene amount of cash for a match 3 game and im glad they have some bragging rights to show off for all this money..0

Some top players do what we think are crazy things or play the game in a different way, I've seen it first hand.

I never really suspected Flo98 and the others of cheating until Jozier put up this thread. And i'm no fanboy of Jozier, but this time, he did make a lot of sense.
From the ridiculously high scores, to the embarrassingly bare roster, and the IGN-changing, there are just too many holes in this sinking ship to be ignored or patched up by claims of "superior alliance organisation" and "better strategy". In other words, reasonable doubt has been established, and there's a prima-facie case to be answered.
The posters here are mostly veteran players with considerable knowledge and experience of how PvP works. Which is why The X-Men can't seem to produce a reasonable explanation for what is going on. From Psykopathic's own admission, even they have no idea. Mikey says the top players do crazy things differently from the rest. But we ARE the top players in the game. Collectively, we are able to see most (if not all) of the angles. And the more we think about it, the less sense it makes.
The X-Men can carry on their spiel about some esoteric "super strategy" they have, but it's not buying anyone over. With a leader in charge that comes across as desperate to win at all costs (not to mention his hypocritical and vulgar posts) I'm not sure integrity is a core guiding principle for the alliance.
Nonetheless, if Naz is in anyway interested in cleaning up his alliance image, or even cares about sentiments of the mpq community, I suggest he quells the assumptions and speculations and simply allow Flo98 to speak for himself.
There are many ways to convince us that he is indeed employing a legit strategy, without giving too much away. Again, I don't think any legitimate strategy would be new to most of us anyway. If, as Psyko implies, it's really down to supremely efficient organisational abilities, then there's even less to worry about. Because even if we had the knowledge, none of us has the interest nor the time to one-up the X-men in administrative workload. The Deadly Alliance is the only other entity that could possibly do it, but trust me, I'll sooner quit the game than to have to be 2x more organised than we currently are - not to mention a 100x.0 -
