Some people have reported not seeing any change. So it's not necessarily that easy.
It's nearing the end of the PvE event. I always get either Deadly or Hard nodes in any PvE when it's close to its ending. What I'm trying to say is the patch might not be related to the scaling some people have been seeing.
Be serious... one minute it's 180 and after you update the client it's 270 (+other nodes gaining a proportionate amount of levels)...

It's definitely the patch. I updated my IPad, but not the IPod. Now in my IPad the C. Mags/Hood is 269/270, and in my IPod it's 141/141.

It now also gives a pretty big advantage to people without updated client ;-P

Just had my game crash mid battle in the Maggia event which, of course, lead to hurt team members. Play with caution!

I'm on steam but I have not received the R55 patch although I did receive a data set upgrade. According to the title page i'm on R54.0.CL206437, Data 210915.0.210915.0 Live. The community announcements do mention R55 as already out so there's that.

Question: Does removing the skip tax from retaliations equate to not reducing the victory bonus in the new patch? I just tried skipping a retaliation and that reduced my victory bonus to +20.

Also mag/hood are lvl 194/195 on business partners so I apparently have received the scaling bump.

You still have the skip tax, because you're at R54. I'm on Steam, same here. Afraid to update but then again I already have Magneto/Hood at 301/302.

Actually, I think the scaling was pushed out rather than through client update. I saw the scaling increase even without updating the client. Died a couple of times and it lowered back to what it was previously.
  • Nothing to report scaling wise as I havent played yet today but i am a little confused as to what the Modern Hawkeye change actually does. I thought Hawkeye's Avoid ability made him jump to the back not the front and i always saw the problem with AoE abilities being that he Avoided them by jumping to the back and that should not happen as they already affect the back person just the same. So what does this actually change about him?
  • Pretty damn happy about everything else though, good set of changes.

Apart from the scaling increase obviously, that sucks for everybody.
  • Just logged into MPQ on my iPad on R55, and my cMags/Hood node is at 287 or so. When I log in on my phone, which is still on R54, the same node is at level 187. That's fairly obvious proof that the patch is screwing with scaling. I think I'll still to playing on my phone until they sort this **** out.

Typical D3 though, they put out what looks like a nice little patch, but can't even test it properly and they end up breaking a PvE event less than 2 days before the finish. If there was an award for incompetence these guys would win every time.

No, it doesn't suck (as much) for the people who actually heard about it before patching. They get to leapfrog ahead, while we kill our personal scaling pulling out stuff like Cmags in order to just (try to) keep up

    - Ares (Dark Avengers): Sunder
      - The Countdown tile will now properly disappear when Ares falls in battle due to using this ability.

MPQ updated to R55 on my iPad this morning (GMT/UTC +10), and I have had this Ares bug happen to me twice since then. Both times were in the PvE with Ares on the opposing team. He killed himself when using Sunder, yet the tile was placed and stayed anyway. The first match was almost over so the tile was irrelevant. I lost the 2nd match because of the bugged tile, instead of winning it like I was set to before the tile appeared (I was aiming for a win that would minimise scaling).

I haven't played enough PvP to see if Ares still has this bug when part of my team, or if it's only when he's an opponent. But either way : PLEASE FIX THIS BUG.

    Thanks!

I am offended at that icon_e_biggrin.gif Thanks to not knowing ahead, I started grinding early like a lil diligent girl, even was top 40 two times after subs ending. Then meter filled, I had lvl 255 Magneto/Hood out of the gate, they are level 301/302 now. The rest are doable but uncomfortably high, 160-170 at least. Shudder to think what might happen after the patch.
Edit: essentials range to 143 for non-goons, non-essentials range as high as 184, Mag/Hood are back to 285 (joooy!).

Then, how do you explain it not affecting everyone?

Refresh timer was a must for me, will increase my satisfactin greatly. Having info is far better rhan nor having, imo.

Retaliation tax and sunder bug fix so welcomed too.

Keep going D3, you can do it!!!
  • I updated to R55 and had the Sunder Bug still happen this morning. Whatever fix went through doesn't appear to have worked.
  • Yeah, we fixed it. No matter what You experience, no matter if nothing changed. It is fixed now. Period.

  • Well, after my initial ZOMG DISASTER reaction last night, I have to say that the level scaling has settled down a bit for me. Some nodes are still extremely hard but only one or two are virtually impossible. Just as well really as I was absolutely ready to quit if I woke up this morning and found lv256+ impossanodes staring back at me where lv110's used to sit.

Unfortunately some of my alliance haven't seen a drop and are still struggling with the upscaling or have just given up.

It's quite obviously a problem with the patch when you have people like myself playing on two different devices, with two different release versions, seeing two different levels of enemies. It's conclusive, it's provable. I can post screenshots if you like?

As for it not effecting everyone, maybe it is? Maybe people are just like you and assuming that the scaling is right, when in fact they should actually be seeing enemies at a much lower level.
  • Indeed. Less forgivable than the decision to implement this change is the fact that it was deployed mid/late event that rewards a character that is likely to be very much in demand. Honestly, why would anyone choose to time it like that?
