Oh wow, Ascended jubilee rewards were changed! This is how they are processing the "retro ascended" rewards. I think it will be like this for a week, then after a week's time the champ rewards for Ascended Jubilee will revert to what it was before
Is this right? My Jubilee is 452 and I got the same as TRW. So in order for me to get what I would have gotten for a max plus 280 dupe, I have to get to 460 (about 30 odd covers) IN 1 WEEK?!
That is some deadline.
You are saying your 452 is from a 370 Jubilee + a 280.
Don't you just need to get to 455? At that point you'll have 2 cover and 2500 shards which is what a L370 Jubilee + 280 nets you in retro rewards for someone who hasn't ascended?
You already got all 6 Phoenix covers from the original 370 before ascending (those aren't new retro rewards). It's nice to double dip but you aren't owed double dipping.
So you just need however many covers you need to get from 452 to 455 (at most 12 but potentially no more than 9). Hopefully you have some CP/LTs you can open (and need to open) now that a new 5 just rotated into latest.
KGB
I am not looking for extra just what everyone else gets. Arguing I should not get retro rewards because I got Phoenix is an entirely different discussion of no relevance here.
Each level for a 4 star Ascended to 5 is 4 covers. I have a 452 with 3/4 of the 453rd. I make that 11 covers so a 281 dupe. To get to 455 is another 9 covers of a 4 star in this dilution. To get what I was supposed to receive in the first place.

Unfortunately, everyone is getting different varying amounts of rewards.
1) Someone who waited to ascend and has a 370 + 280 would get 6 covers from the 370 + 1 cover from the 280. Then after ascending they get 6+ more covers (double dipping) because for 1 week the game doesn't distinguish between pre ascended and post ascended so you get rewards twice.
2) For someone who just has a 370 they are getting 6 covers.
3) For someone like you who is in the gray area you aren't getting even 6 covers unless you open a bunch of tokens with her favorited to get to 454.
4) For someone who has her at 460+ they are getting all the rewards but it's not known whether the are getting too many or too few. By this I mean the game can't tell once you pass L450 and get to say L454 whether you ascended a 370+270 and added 16 covers or a 370+280 and added 6 covers. So the extra cover for the player who did the 280 route, the game doesn't know if you should have gotten that or not. So some players will get extra and some will get the right amount.
5) The imagine the poor player who is away this week on vacation and can't or doesn't log in. They get zip/zero/nada.So it's impossible to get what everyone else is getting because players are getting different rewards. It's basically a big convoluted mess and it's highly unlikely they are going to do anything further with it. It seems the best thing to do if you plan to ascend is hit L290 as someone suggested a few posts back so that your newly minted 5 star has enough levels to get every retro reward regardless.

Thats great advice to wait to ascend until the second one hits 290 at least, unfortunately a lot of us probably champed every 4* that we could because we stupidly thought there'd be no downside to doing so.
I aint getting anymore 4*'s near 370 and even a dupe of them for I don't even know how long, it takes years to get them at that level.

Imagine the poor player who ascended a 450 plus a 270. They went from 6 covers to nothing.

This is not a great solution for retro rewards. Because I ascended mine to 452 I get 3 covers, had I not ascended I’d have 6 covers, and if I’d max-max’d her right now I would have 21 covers…Same, I got 1800 shards from my 452 Jubilee. If I recall correctly the solution resulted in at least the 6 covers you would have gotten with a max champ.

You don’t get any new character shards at all until level 452, just the old character at 451. So at 450 you would appear to get nothing.

This was the best solution they could do without implementing a completely new system. The rewards are front-loaded, so you get the most rewards for the first few levels, but you don't actually get the full 6 covers (i.e. rewards for 450) until 454 (so 370+286,) so I guess you don't get the full compensation (since at 286 you'd get one more cover) until 290. I believe the most they can give at a time is 1800 Shards - that's how the "retro" rewards have arrived in the past.
For future reference, he's the breakdown:
451 - 1300 JG Shards (here forward listed as 2nd)
452 - 1800 Jubilee Shards (here forward listed as 1st)
453 - 700 1st Shards
454 - 1st Cover
455 - 1st Cover
456 - 165 2nd Shards
457 - 250 1st Shards
458 - 250 1st Shards
459 - 360 2nd Shards
460 - LT
461 - 60 CP
462 - 250 1st Shards
463 - 250 1st Shards
464 - 240 2nd Shards
465 - LT
466 - 135 2nd Shards
467 - 600 1st Shards
468 - LT
469 - 1000 HP
470 - 400 1st Shards
471 - 300 2nd Shards
472 - 250 1st Shards
473 - 250 1st Shards
474 - 500 HP
475 - LTFor that point forward it's normal.

I am hoping that CS will help the folks in this gray area. It is a fix that works for those ascending at 290 or higher. I was ascending at 280.
My request was submitted yesterday. Will update here but I would encourage those affected to submit a ticket.

I also believed that those with ascended characters would get the full monty of shards and covers.
However
If every new 5* with an existing feeder/ascended feeder is gonna have a quest mission that gives the possibility of earning 750 shards by simply using the said new 5*…….. I’m cool with it.

Another case of the 3* being way better than the 5*. I can team her right now with Juggs and Grocket for speed clears. Definitely will target her for ascension as soon as May gets to 4*. Just found out May gets much better at 4* but gets way worse as a 5*

I get why they made the retro rewards this way to prevent abuse of the system, but seriously, who has a 4* at level 370 and another at 270 that are just not ascending them? Nah ill just wait to game the system!! (good luck guessing who will feed who too btw).
That must be an extreme minority. And obtaining 20+ covers of a specific 4* is also way too difficult in a week...
Just give the rewards for an ascended 4* as if they were level 370... Getting punished because you used a feature is really not cool.

The way they implemented it, they actually can't. The way the retro system works is it goes into the current character rewards structure, pulls all covers and shards, and awards that. There is no reward for level 450, and it appears that they can't reward more than 1800 shards at a time. This is almost as fast as it can possibly be.
By the first sentence do you mean "who has two 370s?" Because the only way I'm going to level a 370 with another 4* less than 370 is if that character is absolutely critical to the game as a 5* -- so far that hasn't been anyone. Even the week of boosted 4|5 Juggernaut was extremely survivable. You get better rewards by far (by far by far, really, since the 4* rewards are better than the 5* rewards at 1:4 covers) by combining two max Native 4*s.

I have max maxed 2 4s. For people wanting to use this feature in a reasonable time frame, max maxing 4s is not feasible for the majority of character for the majority of players.

And if you only recently ascended that 4* (and they're at 450) then you get nothing, frigging awesome. I was better off not ascending Jubilee a couple of weeks back, how does this make sense?
A week is not enough to get those retro rewards when you need 4 covers per level.

If you "favorite" and pull it can be, depending on how much you pull. But I'd contact CS and see what they say, there's not much else to be done -- this was the system they implemented and without coding up something completely different (which would take exponentially more time,) it's the best they can do. I think they were reasoning that most people would put some additional levels into the dupe.

Most of mine were getting there already, and the "favorite" system really does let you advance 4 stars very quickly. I strongly suspect we'll start seeing Ascended 475 Shaws as early as this weekend or next week...
Of course, I've got all the 5*s (with the exception of Aunt May since I haven't started pulling for the current season) fully covered and many of them above 500, so a new 4|5 doesn't have a huge impact on my play.0 -

That's a pretty bad assumption though, especially considering 4s that feed characters that will probably never matter (ironically the best 4s to ascend) or ones that currently don't feed at all. The fact that elder rosters can now hold out and double dip during launch week is incredibly stupid as well, these are players that can 550 new releases back to back to back (sorry allies, granted most of you took advantage of the bugged ascension rewards at launch, but c'mon...) and they really don't need a third leg up.
I was an ardent supporter of BCS at first; they've had so many BIG game-changing ideas that have kept this fresh and interesting but GODS do they need to slow down and think them through better. Pushing through with huge changes without considering the angles is causing them more issues in the long run. I'd much rather we hold off on changes for another month if they could implement them well. If they're play-testing at all they sorely need a wider roster of testers, they seem to fundamentally misunderstand some things.
