OR! You just bring 1 star Spidy, have lower percentage chance at doing nothing and throw his pink twice if you get it. You'll be buffed more regularly, quite a bit better on defense and won't look as silly as playing war machine.

I kept getting crushed by Polaris-cascade teams in the Sentry PvP, so I was trying different stuff, and subbed Silver Samurai into the non-Polaris slot.

He's...really good? I can't figure out what's happening -- he claims to have a 30% chance to dodge and counterattack but it seems to happen WAY more often, and with Polaris strikes out it hits HARD. The Polaris teams rely on doing a ton of hits, so his counterattacks can really shred her. His red is also quite good against those teams. Base level 480, boosted to 599.

Depends on the boost week. I definitely play my spidey when he's boosted to 672, but when hes 550 and war machine is boosted up over him I'll have that option. He doesn't look silly when he's boosted, I've seen a few in pvp.

Huh, they upped his pink mana cost back from 9 to 12 in his 5 star version… lame!!

I fully expected this. It starts at 12 when he's a 2 star and only drops as a perk of ascending to 3 and 4 star. Once he's a 5 star he has 5 star match damage on top of his passive that boosts his match damage. He would be pretty nuts if his purple was 9ap and you could fire it immediately with boosts and supports.

Even at 12 if you have widows baton and quantum realm support, if both go off you have 10 purple. Bring a b/p boost and there's a pretty good chance you're firing it turn 0

Actually both those supports give 6ap, so if you have them both you can cast the 5* version turn0 without boosts.

The difference between 9 and 12 isn't nearly as big as between, say, 6 and 9. To get to 9 with no boosts, you need both purple supports to fire, which gets you to 12 anyway.

Mine only give 5, it must go up when you level them up to rank 5?

Yep, at rank 5 they go to 6AP, and the percentage goes to 80%.

Nice. I'm working on ranking up the batons already.

And you wonder why everyone is using Leapfrog in the PvP Supports Feedback thread

No one wants to be Gamma Powerbombed or Star Unibeamed on turn 1.

    KGB

I don't wonder. They use it for the same reason I have to. Either use it or be an extra big target because you're one of the people not using it. Same reason you needed to run chasm before he was nerfed, or bishop before that, or gambit before that.

    Very solid numbers when boosted.

If you had his Yellow CD out the block chance would be up to 65% (+35).

Aha! That makes sense. The yellow is so cheap I'd cast it all the time to protect my Polaris. I also think the sheer number of hits Polaris does probably made it feel like it was triggering a ton.

Also, for some reason he's an Archer, so I had him carrying the even-better version of Eros Arrow. It worked well against the 672 Polaris/x teams (my Polaris is like 500 pre boost).

Just finished now, lvl450 no boost. Looks like his percentages stay the same? I'm pretty pumped for this one.

That was fast, thanks for posting. Those percentages are definitely not the same, but he is probably still pretty good.

The ally damage buff on black was cut in half (basically) at 60% and his bread and butter (pink) dropped from 21% to 13, while also reducing the stun from 3 to 2.

What is his health at though? Might still be worth keeping him max 4 star if his health is too high to take advantage of his pink.

Oops! How'd I miss that? I went back to the character post, but I guess I just looked too quickly.

    His health at 450 is 72,465 -- relatively high for a 450, I think?

Oh, the "should we ascend?" debate! This one is a tough call for me, because he sorta needs to tank to get the most use out of that power. I guess it's a good design in that way, because the tradeoff for him making more matches (and thus potentially activating the purple passive more often) is that he'll have more health (and thus potentially activate the purple passive less often).

I'm not sure what the best answer is.

Thanks. I think 72 is basically average? Maybe low average (compared to new characters, not old riffraff that needs to be buffed)? Which is what you want for him, so that's good.

I think the ascension totally depends on your use case since he does seem like he will still be good ascended. If you're only using him to absolutely melt high level PVE matches and you can keep him protected, it could be worth keeping him 4. It's disgusting what he does with IronMay and the right supports / partners, 500k health gone in an instant. His abilities are cheap too, so even if he isn't tanking, I throw his abilities a lot and still capitalize on the pink. Ascended is surely where you want him if you are leaving him on defense.

As I was typing this I thought, why the hell can't we pick which star level we want to use? THAT should be the new feature with the engine, make it so you can play your favorite characters how you want for any fight, without having to have multiple friggen copies.

Has anyone tested if it's his max health or current health that triggers it? I forget, but though it might be max. If it's current then it's a no brainer ascend. Also, if you have ascended MBaku you don't really need 4 star version, since his match damage is so broken it just does what Rider does at all times anyway.

I think it's his current health -- I remember specifically testing that. I'd have to try it out again though, I might be misremembering.

Just tested -- it IS based on his current health.

    Also, he's insanely strong. Wow.
