Then I wonder what is the reason of an official forum if denouncing all this also means harassment and another rule broken.

Agreed he should have just removed the offending portion and referenced the forum rules.

Being a moderator is not easy. Why not message if you have an issue rather than public? I think @Sekilicious is doing fine.

Maybe if we put the polar opposite posts of Bad, who claims Chasm is virtually unbeatable, and the posts of Hound, who claims Chasm is so easy to beat, into a separate thread, the rest of us can have a balanced discussion?
    This is verging on comedy.

The ChaHulk thread has finally stopped and I thought that the discussion on this topic has finally stopped.

But it just moves to another thread.

Even in reddit, there are players bringing up how Chasm should be nerfed periodically. Over there, the veterans and top players will then tell them that there are multiple counters available. Players who can't accept that Chasm shouldn't be nerfed will likely downvote those players who said there are counters. Just recently, a top player got called a troll for not agreeing with what the anti-Chasm player believe in. Then, another player recently got stuck in a 30 minute match with Chasm, even though the AI has only Chasm left, making it a 3 v 1. In the end, he quit the match.

The only thing I can say is, based on past history of dealing with meta teams, players who can't adapt and change their strategy, and has a particular definition what a counter team should be has to wait, and this process takes about 8-12 months. Chasm came in as early as mid September, so there's another 4-8 months of Chasm crying to go.

This happens pretty consistently when meta characters are boosted. Players that don’t post often come out a voice their displeasure and the arguments get rehashed.

I wonder when I offended someone. If the truth usually offends, then better thought I must had offended a lot of people.
Chasm has achieved 2 things hard to get, at least in my MMR: he dropped out diversity and the threshold to rank(meaning pvp after pvp less people are engaging it).
Is he beatable? Of course. But for all the reasons I already mentioned he is way the best option to play, despite the really really soft counters they released and the patches players can figure out (involving 4* characters or cristal ones).

    Yes, scores are horribly low.
    We barely crossed 2800.

SCL10 flipped 9 times in the She-Hulk PvP, which according to the one of the veteran moderators that formed the chat room in Line rarely happens. PvP appears to be in a good state, in spite of the fear mongering.

    I'm tT16 with 1253 points, after sekilicious.
The player on T25 has 963 points.
The rewards are the new character shards.

I don't think you can really use "number of CL10 players playing an event" as a metric to support either side of this argument, though. A lot of MPQ players at that level play every event, even events make them totally miserable, because they feel like they have to in order to "keep up."

I'd expect the numbers to remain basically the same no matter how much fun people are having, and if they drop I'd attribute that to something else beyond "the game stopped being fun."

I agree. Just like I agree placement has no bearing on whether Chasm deserves a nerf. There are too many confounding factors in both metrics.

    Good news for anti-Chasm camp:

"We still have more in store to shake up that meta. We don’t consider it resolved. We have some upcoming changes to stay tuned for."

I guess it has to do with turning Abyss/web tiles into special tiles?

Yep, we'll get a guy who has an active ability that costs 15AP of his strongest color, that places an unfortified 2 turn CD tile that prevents resurrections.

Again. Opinion does not equal Truth. It's been asked of you before to not position your opinions as fact.

Majority of the player base champed shang and don't like the fact chasm basically nerfed shang.

However, there's also players who have been able to adjust to Chasm & like not being shang cheesed.

Your opinion doesn't offend anyone. I had the same opinion of chasm at the beginning. I decided to figure it out and now have no issues with chasm. He takes a higher learning curve to play against than previous characters. This is at the end game, we aren't new players.

I do wonder how the "counters, not nerfs" people would feel if they made an actual counter. Like, if they made that guy who prevents resurrection passively, or removes all void tiles passively, anybody who has that guy at 450 can trivially beat your 550 Chasm. Is that "cheese?"

These players don't want a balanced metagame, and they don't want counters. They want to win.

So how about a another thief character (5*) that is passive and only uses his passive whenever another player wants to steal from him (by stealing thrice the amount the enemy stole). However, he’s so much of a good guy (make him Ant-man) that his passive doesn’t work when paired with a villain.

He also has another passive - whoever tries stunning him loses his passives for the remainder of the match.

His last passive is that he deals massive damage to all the characters doing screen-shaking.

    Useful only against the cheese.
