Bad said:Imo favoring red or blue will depend on her partners and if they have a better red.
There is another point here: what you have expetienced (cascade madness) is a mirror match. It's expected many mirror matches as she will be meta. However.
What she does is doubled for mirror matching her. If she is alone she will need at least blue on 4 (at start of each turn she converts 3 basic tiles).
Then it makes a lot more sense to set the yellow on 5.
By the way a champed Jhor and BB on a mirror match would mean the end of the board, or something like that.
About havok, he would need extra AP, perhaps obtaining an extra AP in exchange for channeling AP.

PASSIVE) Field work's a little more interesting when you've got a star hammer with lightning in it, isn't it? Mjolnir's certainly got a field of its own! At the start of the battle, Thor converts 1 random basic tile(s) into Charged tile(s). At the beginning of her turn, Thor converts 1 random basic tile(s) into Charged tile(s). If Thor has 8 AP or less in any of her strongest colors, at the beginning of her turn and whenever she fires an ability, Thor destroys 1 random adjacent tile to each Charged tile on the board, prioritizing special tiles. (Destroyed tiles do not deal damage or generate AP).
- Level 2: At the start of the battle, Thor converts 2 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
- Level 3: Converts 4 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
- Level 4: At the start of the battle, Thor converts 3 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
- Level 5: Converts 5 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
So I suspect they finally changed it.0 -
There's no need to suspect. It was already changed when the numbers were revealed. I mentioned them on page 4.Her blue passive has been changed:
1. The number of charged tiles created at the start of the turn is reduced from 2 to 1.
2. She needs to have fewer than 9 aps in any of red/blue/yellow to destroy tiles passively.
Her yellow has been changed:
1. The maximum number of charged tiles created has been raised to 4.
Are there any other interesting teams I'm missing out with 5JF?
0 -
What if the Royal Family node gets updated to replace Medusa with Jane?0
-
It's not a big change. SC will still take them down with ease.
And I noticed that charged tiles didn't destroy charged tiles. It chose to destroy basic tiles instead. I wonder if IceIX misread the part where he said charged tiles will be treated as special tiles. Or maybe I missed out on that?0 -
Then they changed what they changed.
Because:
Her blue passive has been changed:
1. The number of charged tiles created at the start of the turn is reduced from 2 to 1.
2. She needs to have fewer than 9 aps in any of red/blue/yellow to destroy tiles passively
And the passive says:- Level 2: At the start of the battle, Thor converts 2 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
- Level 3: Converts 4 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).
- Level 4: At the start of the battle, Thor converts 3 random basic tiles into Charged tile(s).

Anyway, just follow what in-game states. It seems to be a norm to see errors. Out of 10 releases, I bet 2-3 had errors with their abilities. I think even Onslaught's abilities or match damage in his character thread is wrong but not corrected.0
-
Danver5 character thread still doesn't reflect her secret nerf on green. #NeverForget
https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/77433/captain-marvel-galactic-warrior/p1
3 -
In game says at level 4 she converts 3 basic into charged at the start of the battle and after that 1 charged each turn.
So blue at 4 speeds up a lot her mechanics.0 -
I think we are looking at different part of her abilities. Before the reveal, she was creating 2 charged tiles at the start of her turn. After the reveal, they changed it to 1. The number for charged tiles at the start of the game remains the same at 3.
At least with 5JF, there's some hope of revival for C5rol. I was collecting over 20 yellow aps with Polaris/C5rol. It seems like you are stilll hooked by the change. I think you chased her and played her champed version a couple weeks before she got a silent change.

It seems the general consensus is to pull for Fo5ter. I'm curious to know how much of the hoard everyone will break for her. Who is aiming just for 450 and who is going all in with everything to achieve highest possible champ level?0

Jane is probably the most spastic chaos-inducing character in the game to date. She essentially just blows ish up passively. This makes her super annoying to face; as a bad cascade on a charged-filled board can easily turn the tide in her team’s favor. Whereas offensively, her tricks make her a huge boon to your team. Not only is she a top-notch support and passive boardshaker, but she also brings three actives and two nukes to the table. If this sounds like I’m describing another meta thunder god, it’s because she combines some of the best elements of her 4* version and her 5* male counterpart to create something unique, but devastating in her own right.
Jane’s red (Feel the Thunder) is the first of her two nukes. For 6 AP, she deals anywhere from about 5-8k damage plus 800-1400 for each charged tile on the board, plus half that amount for each that has been destroyed during the match. The destroyed tiles can be from either team, and there is no cap on this number. So, Feel the Thunder is not only cheap, but gets stronger with each cast. The longer the match goes on, the more Foster will flood the board with charged tiles that will inevitably be destroyed, leading to her red doing more and more damage.
Foster’s blue (Doctor Thor) is how said flooding occurs, as Thor converts 4-5 random basic tiles into charged tiles for 7 AP. This is not a bad AP outlet, since it is cheap and fuels her other two abilities. But it’s the passive portion of this power that makes her chaos incarnate. At the beginning of the match, she makes 2 or 3 random charged tiles, and at the beginning of each turn she makes one more. That’s not all folks! If Thor has less than 9 red, yellow OR blue AP at the start of her turn, she destroys a tile adjacent to every charged tile on the board. She also does this whenever she fires one of her cheap powers. Doc Thor’s destruction prioritizes special tiles including neutral charged tiles; and will even target your own specials (so plan teammates accordingly). Unlike Odinson, her board explosion doesn’t generate AP (or deal damage) but she often gets free AP just from the crazy cascades this power can cause once the charged tiles start rolling in.
Finally, yellow (Share the Love) is simply awesome on its own, but gets bonus points for being a very rare damage-dealing power in said color. For only 8 AP, Thoress destroys every single charged tile on the board, and then deals 3700-5600 damage to a random enemy for each tile she destroyed. This damage can be massive in its own right once you get a ton of charged tiles on the board. But, since these are separate tics of damage, each can be boosted as well (which is likely why this power is on yellow… I see you developers)! After blowing up the board, she then repopulates it with 3-4 new charged tiles, which of course blow up 3-4 more tiles thanks to her aforementioned blue passive (hurray for double cascades!).
When you play Thor, it often feels like “stuff just happens” as she blows up the board with reckless abandon- sometimes multiple times a turn. However, Thor’s kit has great self-synergy. Blue both actively and passively puts charged tiles on the board. So, you want to fire blue first. You then want to fire red before yellow, because charged tiles on the board are worth double damage compared to destroyed tiles (and yellow destroys them all). However, subsequent casts of red will account for not only all the destroyed tiles, but any new charged tiles on the board. So as the match goes on, red gets more and more powerful. Her passive board destruction is what ties the whole kit together, because all three of her powers are cheap for what they do. Thus, Insane Jane will often stumble into the AP she needs via the cascades she creates (especially if the incidental matches include charges tiles). This unpredictability makes her not only an offensive juggernaut, but gives her some defensive teeth akin to someone like Onslaught- who she happens to pair great with (see below).
Pairings:
I’ll start by saying that Jane has such good self-synergy that she’ll excel with any decent partners who are self-sustaining themselves and cover her off-colors. Moon Knight covers the rainbow, provides a giant black nuke, and his green can destroy extra charged tiles with its row destruction. Jane will however remove his countdown and traps (but her cascades and charged tiles can provide the AP he desperately needs). Beyond self-contained characters, you are either going to play her as 1) a primary attacker and/or 2) a support to other characters. As a primary attacker, her her best partners are going to be those who fuel what she does by being a battery for her active powers (e.g. Jean Grey, Sersi, and boy Thor), or dropping charged tiles to up her damage output (e.g., Storm and Black Bolt’s black passives). A big problem is that with the exception of Crystal (an excellent pairing mind you), all of the major active charged tile creators use Jane’s active colors to do so (e.g., Cable, Havok, Star-Lord, Hawkeye, Surfer, Shang-Chi, Gambit, and the aforementioned Storm). Similarly, while her yellow benefits from power-boosters like Okoye and Apocalypse, they use yellow to do said boosting (and also carry their own red AP outlets). So bottom line is she clashes with those she pairs best with. Now as a support to others, she is going to excel more naturally. She is the perfect third to the Professor X and Onslaught duo. They were already the most chaotic team to face defensively, whose whole thing is killing you with passives. They get copious amounts of AP but have only one real active nuke (Prof purple) to worry about. Well Jane passively adds more chaos to fuel their madness and provides two more dangerous AP outlets to make them even more of a threat to face. Along with hammerless Thor, Sersi, and Crystal, these two are her best mates. Jane also makes a good partner to those who benefit from the destruction of special tiles like Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan, and Beta Ray Bill… but again, watch the overlap. You also might need a third to pump the special tiles out faster (Polaris… always Polaris).
What to expect when boosted:
As noted above, Thor has the powerset to play nice with many other great characters on paper, but her color scheme creates problematic overlap with those she would otherwise do well with. I feel this was done by design as a bit of a power check. Lucky for Dr. Foster, while it is nice when it happens, she really doesn’t need people to amplify her. So, she will especially shine on boost weeks where the partner pickings are more slim. Thor will be a must-play go to on her boost weeks for sure.4 -
I’ve been messing around with Worthy Cap who has basically not existed in my mind since his nerf in the All Caps PVP, and his blue can still do up to 9 discreet, boostable hits with enough charged tiles out. Even without his CD spam interaction with Hawkeye, that can add up to a lot of damage when boosted by Apocalypse or Okoye. Seems like he could play up with Jane too.0
-
Question, I don’t have a strong 5* Iceman so not sure this would work but my guess is you are probably getting his blue stun off pretty easily? While this would slow her blue down, it seems her passive is the important part of her blue, then maybe 5* Colossus to get some possible free hits or maybe Electro for damage reduction?0
-
I tried Iceman/BRB and Iceman/Sersi(?) In her pvp and it does work well. The opponent got stunned 7-8 turns easily. For some reasons, those cascades help to hit more than 8 blue aps easily, which allows me to fire BRB's blue and Iceman's passive stun. As for 5JF's active blue, you can fire them too if the opponents got stunned lock. The cascade madness more or less solve the aps problems.1

Her PVP was one of the most pleasant for casual PVP player in a long time. All her tile explosion powers helped Polaris a lot.

Big Wheel was a really powerful combo with this new 5* character. I ran 5* Colossus with Big Wheel also and this trio was very potent. The blue passive on Mighty Thor's pairs so well with Big Wheels blue passive. I have it at lvl 5, so it was relatively common to see my speed points get to 14-20 range. At 20 speed points, Big Wheels blue passive is like a huge nuke and it was really effective at dealing damage to opponents 5* Colossus. Colossus was an obvious choice in the pvp event because you didn't want to get match damaged to death. Not sure if he will be a mainstay with the new Thor when she is released. But for sure, Big Wheel and 5* Mighty Thor are one of my favorite new combos! Very strong synergy2
