I love it . The contrast is clearer . The darker background helps . I apologize to everyone for not complaining about a game I voluntarily choose to play and donate to without expecting any type of entitlement.  I adapt and evolve with the game changes the devs work hard to bring us so I’m not worried about any virtual Darwinism . Excelsior !

The issue is the developers don´t bother to listen. I don´t know if its because they think they know best or contempt from all the negative feedback. I feel like the game is in a constant dance of one step forward, two steps back and this recent disaster is strike 2 for me. I don´t want to stop playing the game, but the current state is causing me physical pain and I really need to reconsider if its worth the trouble of finding an alternate solution.

This is what is eating me up so bad and making me admittedly aggro about this issue; I stayed silent before about previous changes because plenty of other people said the exact things I wished to say, often in much better ways than I could even try to. At this point, with so many unwanted changes pushed through, I feel disrespected and unwanted, despite my efforts to support this game and let the developers know where they're missing out... approaches like this release let me know that they either think they are infallible or that they care so little for their gaming public's opinion that they might as well be. It's **** and not worth supporting.
In instances like this, devs either check themselves and reaffirm their willingness to develop for an audience or they simply fail.

I know many players are saying that the changes are horrible, but I am seeing mostly gut reactions. Gut reactions are often in response to something that isn't right, even though what is right may not be known. I think the changes are good, but not finely tuned. The frame is solid in my opinion, but the surface just needs a pinch more adjusting. Once those are done, I think the majority of players will be happier.
People who are getting migraine/eye strain responses to the changes/dimming are having their health impacted by the game when they previously were not. same with the colour blindness issue. It's not gut reactions in those cases, more so 'i'll need to stop playing this game because of this change'. not liking the changes is one thing but it seems to me that a great number of people are affected physically and mentally. and that's not good.
I agree. Maybe I should have said "many people" rather than "most people". There are many like yourself and @abmoraz who are having issues and have clearly stated those issues. There are also many who have simply stated their disgust without explaining why.

Nonetheless, the issue stands that there is a problem with the coloring, lighting, and iconography. I don't think they are highly involved and difficult problems to solve, but they are most definitely serious problems for the majority of players. Like you, I hope they are fixed soon.

If a video game you like to play is causing you physical pain/health issues...there are literally thousands of video games to play that are just as fun as this one that won't cause those problems for you.

If a large number of people stop playing the game completely as a result of this change, it will be reverted or altered.  If you continue to play despite changes that cause you physical pain, all they will see is that player engagement is steady.  Vote with your feet.

This forum represents a tiny, tiny portion of the playerbase and is historically well-known for violently overreacting to minor changes, so feedback from here is going to be taken with a giant grain of salt.

After 2000+ days of playing I am calling it quits. I can't play it anymore. I could have stuck it out like most but I see some players like it and the devs are excited and to save myself from the growing resentment I hold for these people and further aggravation from future updates I am out. Thank you.

There are, last I saw, 536 posts on the MPQ Facebook page and whilst I didn't read them all it was not looking very positive. What Lakestone posted here was a stock answer that also appeared on the Facebook page which suggests they are getting negative feedback on multiple platforms.

I greatly dislike the new board. The dimming on the enemies turn is disorienting and makes it harder to plan my next moves which increases the time it takes to finish a match. It is harder to see special tiles especially charged ones and I feel the color changes are bad as well. Please go back to the old version until you can make major tweaks to this one.

But I play not with my feet but my hands.

Grain of salt? Gambit nerf, bishop nerf, pve tapping, maybe time slices a little. That's just what I remember without thinking about what the forum has been involved in changing. Anyone else remember some?

You honestly think this complete aesthetic change to the game board that we interact with 100% of the time when playing is a "minor" change? C'mon man!

Full disclosure - I did post that this change doesn't bother me and I'd be able to get used to it.

I am one of those who got migraines from the new dimming and harder on eyes issues this new UI has caused. I have not had migraines recently... but when I do like now...it does not go away easily. It is very painful and debilitating. I do hope the dev team can roll back until a solution is found first. Otherwise I dont see a way forward.

Reading to others despair on here.. I wanted to share that I do know the dev team is listening as shared on facebook by them:

Hi Everyone - We appreciate the community reaching out to us in regards to some of the changes in the recent R223 update. The feedback here is super helpful and they are being shared with the team. These concerns are being reviewed and once we have more information to share, we will provide an update here in the coming days. Thank you

been trying to play for about a few hours since the change

The most annoying thing for me apart from the dark screen on the AI’s turn is that it’s very difficult to know when you have a power ready , yellow doesn’t seem to flash at all

nice attempt at improving the game but sadly it just doesn’t work for so many reasons

I didn't say this was a minor change.

If it's causing you serious problems, the way to get that point across is to stop playing until it's fixed.  Posting feedback here may carry some weight but ultimately, continuing to engage with the game will outweigh any negative feedback here.
