They didnt make stuns cost more energy for rogues and **** them. They adding dimishing returns for ALL classes. This is the type of fix that fixes spiderman or magneto. BTW it also fixes most any character issue of this type for all future characters too. Not simply raising ap costs or lowering damage numbers..... This is lazy this far into the games cycle.
15 ap to stun a single character for 6-8 turns (8 if you are lucky and web tiles arent destroyed ). Or spend 14 ap with thor to do 8k cleave damage.........

Instead of nerfing his existing powers and changing him from a brilliant support character to a **** support character, maybe some actual thought could have been put into the act and his abilities could have been completely overhauled.
I never understood why he didn't have some sort of offensive power that was in line with Peter's indomitable will. When he's fighting for a cause he believes in, he WILL NOT give up. Ever. He keeps swinging punches until he literally has nothing left. That could've translated into something offensive quite easily, or even inspirational that affects the rest of the team.
This is a nerf of the worst kind and, as a hardcore fan of the character, it sucks to have him **** so hard.0 -
Its nice to know the game is heading in the right direction, no hero should be able to cast their skills for less than 5 AP, let alone being able to stun lock in 2 chains.
I have a non maxed out spider, like many i use mine for prologue healing only, am more of a Ares approach kinda guy. This balance just ensure the playing field gets better for everyone.
Unrelated opinion: i see a lots of replies here keep calling widow a OP character, how? i mean we have Ares, Ares eats widow for breakfast anyday of the week, on the loki event i reached top 10 by just using ares/daken since there were so much widow combos.0 -

Unrelated opinion: i see a lots of replies here keep calling widow a OP character, how? i mean we have Ares, Ares eats widow for breakfast anyday of the week, on the loki event i reached top 10 by just using ares/daken since there were so much widow combos.
OBW + Strike Tile Generator = OP. She heals, steals, extends countdown tiles, passively pickpockets AND hits twice. If you do not think she is OP then you are not using her effectively.0 -

Agree completely with this. Whenever I see someone complaining OBW is OP I have to refrain from pounding my head against the wall. She is a great utility/support character, but she is very, very squishy. I'll never skip a fight just because OBW is there, any halfway respectable damage-dealer character will shut her down hard before she causes too much trouble (barring a really bad board against you).0 -

I think you missed the point I was making. The point insnt to **** anyone. Im not saying to change Thor or any other character. The point is to balance out something that needs balance. In other words stun lock is an issue its because of the ability to take multiple turns without AI reacting. So after this spiderman fix they havent fixed the game. Whether its spiderman stuns, magneto matches in a row, falcons protect tiles or storm cascades or whatever random OP thing the next character will do... until you correct the framework of characters being able to take turns without penalty you will constantly run into this issue. We will be here in a month again with 2-3 more characters and if the solution is to just nerf them at this point there is no way this game will last.0 -

Because defense doesn't matter, and OBW allows you to play almost infinite matches in a row because you always walk out with full health. Ares certainly kills faster, but you eventually need health packs, limiting how high you can eventually push in a PVP.0 -

I dont even use spidermans blue I use his purple mostly on my team. But because of these changes his purple is trash now too. I dont own a yellow cover so Ive never even healed with him.
If you read the wall of text you'd see I wasnt asking for them to leave the functionality the same. I was asking them to fix it properly rather than killing a character overnight that people put hours and hours into.0 -
These constant nerfs are the exact same reason I quit playing Avengers Alliance on Facebook. Instead of doing a major overhaul which, subsequently, makes a two-star character more viable than the three-star character that happens to be the MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, how about small changes to see if it levels the playing field like the good people over at Blizzard did recently?

Hey, you guys are using the best characters in the game? That means no one is buying the new characters. Let's ruin them so people are forced to go after the new top-tier characters which we'll subsequently nerf.
This isn't leveling the playing field. It's salting the earth.
Quick change that really would make people reconsider Spider-Man? 1 AP increase on All Tied Up. Slightly reduced healing on Web Bandages. Make people work just a little bit harder.
What you're doing is intentionally hamstringing your game and screwing over the player base that use them for the third time since I've been playing.
If this goes through the way it's written? I'm done. Won't even give it another chance like I did after Thor and Wolverine. And I'm a whale with a page devoted to the game over on DeltaAttack.0 -

I do not really have a huge problem with the nerf itself, even as a Spiderman abuser, but I am concerned with the timing and the metagame shift of it. As I see things, the one thing keeping the head predators down was the fact that there was a solid control personlity to play with.
Now it becomes much harder to shake the people who do have developed rosters which makes them actually stronger, since they have people on the bench that developing players do not have. And while the main predators of the enviroment (Magneto, Lazythor and arguably Black panther) get a free reign.
Someone said earlier that "let's see how much skill there is when you cannot just spam his blue", paraphrased. It's the same reasoning people have against control decks in CCGs. They feel they are abusive, because their tactic isn't a surefire win anymore. People can play above their weightclass by investing in such. That is not a bad thing. Tell me why it is more skillful to win with Patch/Magneot/LazyThor or the other bruisers?
Spiderman is not a nerfed character in that sense. He is a shot at an entire control tactic. That being said, he definately needed a tunedown. Though very likely this tunedown should have been made in conjuction with tuning down Magneto.0 -

i feel for people who are heavy spidey abusers.. its him who helped me go to the next level. I remembered having bought the blue covers and then finally be able to compete with all the heavy hitters.. at the time, there were not chars with large chunk of hp and not many ppl who could field 141 team.. so it was not that boring to stunlock and breeze to victory.. i remembered joyfully how enarmoured i was with spidey.. i could attack rag nodes without fearing to be wiped out in 3 rounds.. good ol days.. any way, now it seems everybody and his brother overused spidey.. a team of max LT/BP/ buffed Im40, should never ever fear a team of 85 MnMag/100 spidey/85 ares..Never..
But that's what happen all the time in HM for example.. its not suppose to be that way.. there is a reason why strong rosters should always prevail against weaker rosters.. it's because you put time, money and effort and as a result you must dominate the comp.. with spidey as he is now, you invest in 5 blue and you are propelled to the top of the chain food.. high level players skip you cause they know the retal is coming.. or shield by fear to lose point..this is ridiculous and a total nonsense..0
