  • Apparently something is happening. My pending ended heroic event placement has changed 3 times since it ended. It ended when I was #28 of 1000, then it changed to #29 of 10001, and now.... I am #29 of 999? I sure hope it doesn't magically push me out of the top 30. I would be so pissed

  • Never understood why developers are willing to waste code on making damage values in the millions. Just cut of some zeroes for frocks sake. The values on this game are where they should be. Low damage is a -1...not a -10000.

that's power creep in effect for you. the Beginning levels of the game 100 and 1000hp monsters are actually not uncommon at all if i recall corrrectly

If i remember correctly from my PAD days, they do start in the single digits or so, there's just a wide variety of levels and monsters and so the top end bosses have millions of health.

Yup, you remember correctly. When you start, damage is in the 10s. Then you start leveling and it goes into the hundereds. eventually you just keep building and get into the millions.

Keep in mind, when I say I CAN get into the millions, I mean after very careful planning and skill placement, and only for 1 out of every 20 turns or so. If I am just matching things its closer to the 5-10 thousand damage for me right now. I like the scale, since it allows for a lot more variance in between those numbers, and when you get powerful, you FEEL powerful without overpowering everything in the game. And everything in the game is beatable - sometimes not easily, but its beatable.

The power of monsters goes up, but so does the dungeons when they put out newer and newer ones. And you can always go back to older dungeons if you want something from them - there is no scaling (hint). you go into a dungeon knowing how difficult it will be - it will always be that difficult, so it is always accessible to peopel once they get the right guys. You always feel liek you are progressing that way, rather than fighting the same thing for the same rewards just harder. I still remember how good I felt when I beat my first "decended dungeon". Sure it wasnt the biggest, baddest thing around anymore, but I felt good hittign that milestone. And now I can go back and farm it and I feel like I have really gained something.

Hera of course! That Ultra Gravity helps a ton with future decends! Beat it with a double Green Odin resist team.
  • Well everything was working for a couple hours or so. Broken again.

  • Argh - down again !! Fine, I'll play knights of puzzlelot instead. Argh!!!!

Oh, puzzles and dragons. For some reason the abbreviation PAD didn't click. I played it for a while and it was pretty fun.

If I start a new game should I keep restarting until I get a good monster? If so, which monster am I shooting for?

Also, how bad is the iap? Are purchases required to advance at a steady rate?

One more question. How is the time requirement to advance in PaD? I started playing MPQ because it was something I could pick up for a few minutes here and there and have a good time. But lately it seems like you have to schedule your whole life around this game to progress. Is PaD the same?

It's Spidey. He's pissed at his announced nerf and is stun-locking the servers while he still can.

Thank goodness we have sooo much time left in Season 1. If this ended Sunday or something, we would be completely screwed.

I know right? I was just looking at SHIELD Simulator thinking I should probably start that soon. Never know when the servers will just cut me out forever or the event will get sharded into oblivion.

You want to start playing (and reset/rerolling) during a Godfest, which comes about once every couple of weeks. There's a couple dozen "good" gods, google for 'em I guess

    this guide is pretty good:
    http://pad.wikia.com/wiki/New_Players'_Guide

Progression is steady but slow, PaD is exactly a game where you pick it up for 5 minutes or a half hour here and there unless you're heavily IAP. As long as you don't mind advancing slowly, you'll do fine without any IAP whatsoever
