So this mean I CAN go to sleep and wake up at 6AM icon_e_smile.gif

    Thanks!

Thank you for your report about the enemy levels.
This scaling is working as intended, based upon your PvE matchmaking rating. This rating is influenced by several factors, and the level of your roster is not the only factor.
I am sorry that you feel that these fights are too difficult, but the levels and scaling are correct.
If you have any other issues or questions, please feel free to contact us again.

    Mhm... I have a 141 LT, a 138 C.Mags, 103 Punisher, 98 BP and then various 2* ...
Last event my levels went up to 200 and I played only last 2 refreshes of sub-brackets...
    Well that's "fair"...

@SolidQ - oh... I see somehow has it even worse then me...

I have Patch 231, but he can't handle them alone. Psy and IM40 not maxed icon_e_smile.gif

    icon_eek.gif Good God!

I'm so glad I'm not seeing guys at that level. If I did, I think I'd just set my tablet down and walk away. icon_razz.gif

And I wish I had more than 1 cover for my Psylocke.

Hey IceIX (if you're still around) can you confirm that the plan is to run through all of the old events before we get the new chapter? Should we expect Thick as Thieves & Brotherhood before we see the story advance?

Then sounds like you two have a great shot. Luck for me, I'm usually up that late as the better half doesn't get home from work until midnight or so.

Not a necessity to do so, no. We'd just likely go back to whatever we hadn't run in that order after inserting the new Chapter is all. So it could go 2-3-4-1-5-2-2.5.

Is the scaling of some people (right now me and SolidQ) of around 150-241 and up to 395 in SolidQ's case really working as intended?

I have a question with this event. Ive completed each node that's currently available and repeatedly finished them out until they only gave 1 point per completion. I had been in 1st place for my apparent bracket and now other players have vastly surpassed my score. How is this even possible? I simply cannot compete due to no node giving me any points.. am I doing something wrong here? Is there a way to reset nodes?

Rubberbanding makes it so that the farther away you are in points to the current global sub leader, the more points you get per mission completed: read up on Eddiemon's PvE guide to get more information about this. The TLDR version is that you want to complete missions as close to the end of the subevent as possible in order to maximize points: the later you complete it, the more points you get. Typically points refresh every 12 hours, but since this sub seems to be ending before then, you're probably out of luck in terms of winning the sub.

Which leads to the question of when we might expect a new chapter to arrive?

(My expectation for response is "soon" icon_e_wink.gif )

I don't know what SolidQ's in-game name is so I can't check into rating there. Looking at yours, your previous PVE rating from prior Events and your current looks in-line with the intended reductions, so in pure mathematical terms, your reduction is working as intended.

The problem being that your both are so far along the curve that is PVE scaling that something like a 40% decrease on rating still puts you pretty high on the numeric scale as a result. We did a much larger reduction for this Event than we do for normal Events to account for the restricted rosters, but even with that there are still some outliers. It appears that this is the case with you and SolidQ. From previous investigations into this, there's little our tools can do to immediately fix the issue for just your particular case without affecting a bunch of other users as well, or alternatively, restarting the Event. Neither are really tenable. We've improved our tools and will continue to do so but I don't believe that there's a magic bullet that we can fire with this particular Event to get you in-line.

Have you guys considered a ceiling on how high the starting MMR of a player for each event can be based on the players roster strength? (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7030 had my suggestion for this) Seems like it would be a relatively simple fix that would solve a lot of the complaints that you guys are getting.
  • I'm surprised that Falcon is not featured hero. Usually the newest character is featured in the following few PvE events.

Considered, yes. We've got a few changes in the works for how scaling is worked out that we're doing testing on to make sure that we don't accidentally break things with it. While I hate having to deliver bad news like I just did, we'd rather move a little slower on testing and making sure that scaling changes work properly than have something like The Hunt where a scaling change creates an unintended "OMG everyone is looking at 300s" situation.

Did my first clear of city, just a single finish of each node.

That put me at #1 with 5538 in my bracket.
Also noticed that Rampage! is still at ~L69 at this point.

What constitutes "community" for the scaling of the subs? Is is just the other 199 people? or is it actually the whole community?
I definitely slacked off in the last Simulator, but otherwise I've finished high in previous PvE events. Maybe my PvE MMR has just tanked so completely; I'd be OK with that.

(In the time it's taken me to type this, I've been overtaken, now at #22. Leader just past 6000 points, which would be a second clear of each of the Patch nodes.)

You can't, as you suggest, just calculate roster strength as by averaging levels. There is a world of difference between the strengths of different characters, not to mention star-tiers. An 85 OBW is hardly on par with an 85 Loki.
