Once Demiurge threw that switch in Thursday and out me in an 8,000-point hole (yes, 8,000 points), I never had a chance.
Thanks, Demiurge.
Fun game.
Hey, bub, you weren't in my bracket.
First of all, reading comprehension ftw. First word in my post is "67th." I did make top 150, I didn't make top 30.
Despite those sub finishes, I was 7800 points behind the leader when the main repeatable nodes open. That's right, 5th and 1st in subs, and I made up 200 points. What was my top node, thanks to the rubberbanding that was supposed to save us all? Just under 500 points.
I ground my pins 3-4 times each, and never got within 2000 of the leader. Scaling didn't get me. There were just no points. By the end, I was still over 1000 shy of 10th place (I couldn't see the 30th place cut off, of course), and my nodes were all under 100 points.
I know some people managed to make their points up. For whatever reason, through no fault or poor play of my own, I was in a bad situation and got hit hardest by the change. The point is, I should never have been forced to make up 8000 points from square one.
I got screwed badly enough by Demiurge. I really don't need you attacking me and telling me I "screwed up."
Think I was in your bracket too, points were definitely lacking for me. Even grinding every node down to 1 - bar the last modaken node I was still at least 3k behind and finished in 66th.0 -
Talking to other alliance members, it's easy to feel robbed. A guy that had 6 points more than I did was second in his bracket, and complained about the time limit stopping him from first. Me? 60, so I only get one cover!0

Tell him what does it matter if he come first second or third. They all get the same reward.0 -
Got my individual covers, still waiting on alliance cover. This is getting f*n ridiculous.
I noticed the points fluctuating early and timed my refreshes so that I finished about 10 minutes before the event ended. Pushed to 15th, then with 5 minutes left I got bumped up to 36th with 30th only 8 points ahead. Did a couple nodes worth 20 points and finished 21st. I feel bad for the people that got screwed over with the changes at the beginning of the event. People lost points and weren't afforded the chance to make them all back up. It seems to me that they are pushing people away and/or almost forcing them to pay. Buy the HP to level up characters, and open slots or you won't be able to actually compete. Same goes for PVP.0 -
andyken wrote:Why my reward is still pending and most of my alliance members already got them, is that normal?
I haven't seen any information as to why this is happening anywhere. I am literally too tired of waiting, I have to pass out.0 -
Chimaera wrote:Good run entropics grats on that first, I am fine with 2nd as I didn't want that 3rd place pity red xforce. First red xforce and last cover in the game I need and I wanted to earn it. Scaling probably tinykitty forever from now on but thats what I had to do.
Grinding 40 point nodes because I couldn't beat lazy daken again failed twice only beat it once used all my big boosts and 1 health pack left. Would have surpassed you earlier if I beat it. 4th kinda gave up there in the last 15 minutes.
I'm really surprised I ended up in 1st. I left hundreds of points on the table at the end. I quit playing down the stretch because I didn't even care about top 3, only needed the top 30.0 -
I think someone needs to flip the cassette on the VIC-20 that's handling reward processing this time out...0

Yep finished 2nd after being 4k behind leader as I joined early then the points switched. Grinded sub 1 made up the distance then rubber banded all the way0

Moghwyn wrote:Now that the event is over I guess I have to admit that Will was right. It was actually possible to recover from the points fiasco, even starting about 8k points in the hole, and still come in first. It did involve an amount of grinding I probably wouldn't want to repeat, paired with a lot of lost sleep due to timing refreshes as best as possible. Nothing the common user would even remotely associate with the word "casual". I'm not convinced it was worth the effort and I suspect I'm going to regret it deeply once I see my personal scaling in the next event. I'm also quite certain I've reached my maximum level of fault tolerance, if D3 messes up like this again, conveniently abandoning all players affected to deal with the fallout, I'm gone for good.
As a data point, in the main I was in the zero rubberband zone all the time (RB started at 1k from global leader). Played 3 sessions, leaving 2k, 2k and 1k points on the table. What makes room for 5k possible catchup just on base points. And we did have enough rubberband strength to make up the remaining 3k.
(certainly the points left were due to lack of pressure, so if many people engaged in that activity the lead would have moved more...)
Certainly playing each node 5 times over and 3 times is hardly something I could call FUN, and if done just to compensate for a f-up that could be easily dealt with restarting the event 2 hours in? MEH.0 -
I had the 3rd highest points in our alliance (35014) and didn't even place in the top 150. First time in a long time where I don't get at least two covers. I grinded everything in the last herioc to 1, beat the Daken node twice in the last four hours. I never missed a refresh and placed top 10 in both subs. I definitely feel robbed. Oh, and I was third in a top 25 alliance.0

18members strong, semi-casual alliance is still perfectly capable of getting good spot. Having 2 people absent, we managed to finish at #52. In God of Lies we finished #54. With a little bit more grinding, top50 was reachable.
Well, calling us semi-casual is quite a stretch on the term I'd rather say 18 crazy hardcores can still make it just outside t50.
We calculated that if the two missing members were providing point of the #18 that was good for 3-5 place for both events.
Meanwhile I actually was to sit out both events just got dragged in and finished on top of alliance roster for both (what hardly ever happens.) Life is full of surprizes.0 -

Same as Bee. Save for the fact that I finished 6th. Was in first until 15 minutes remaining- and only 50 or so points behind 1. I had forgotten to do the "like father like son" node... Or didn't notice it. Could have hit it for 200+ and esily taken first. Xforce was 1K Iso. I let some others who possibly needed it, have it.
But, I have to say, like Bee above, had to grin pretty hard in the first 2 subs to make up the distance from 641 to top 5 in my main. I know I am screwed with the MMR. At the end of this Event, my final Daken Node and his pals were starting to hit the upper 260s / lower 270s.
Curious to see what yours were at Bee and anyone else who needed to grin ceaselessly.0 -
Still waiting for rewards both from my individual rank and alliance rank. Wonder why its taking so long usually I get mine the moment I wake up hours after the event ends.
Its Ok I'm a patient gal.0 -

Ok, this might be kind of noobish, but I was sitting around 200 in the main while the subs were up. Finished t50 in both subs, and 21st in main. How will you know if your MMR is insane? Just wait for the next PVE event? I've only been playing for a little over a month, so don't crucify me for asking.
... still waiting on alliance rewards btw... 9 and a half hours after event ends...0 -

I'm in the UK. So is Bee. B finished top 3 I think.
I live in Italy, and the Heroic here ended at 6 a.m.. I went to sleep at 3:45, 35k points, 5th in my bracket, 2k+ points (unrecoverable) behind the leader. I ended the event 55th in my bracket, 950 points behind #10. I know that I could have gathered some more points, probably enough for top 30, but that would have meant a sleepless night and impacting my subsequent workday.
Just out of curiosity, did you wake up early/went to bed late/both? Has this been fun for you? Because after the 4th match against Daken/Ares/Yelena (and the countless others assorted nodes) a lot of the fun for me had vanished.0 -
