OSCORP HEROIC - MAY 8-14

Now that the event is over I guess I have to admit that Will was right. It was actually possible to recover from the points fiasco, even starting about 8k points in the hole, and still come in first. It did involve an amount of grinding I probably wouldn't want to repeat, paired with a lot of lost sleep due to timing refreshes as best as possible. Nothing the common user would even remotely associate with the word "casual". I'm not convinced it was worth the effort and I suspect I'm going to regret it deeply once I see my personal scaling in the next event. I'm also quite certain I've reached my maximum level of fault tolerance, if D3 messes up like this again, conveniently abandoning all players affected to deal with the fallout, I'm gone for good.0

Got my personal rewards already but I started the event right away.0

Once Demiurge threw that switch in Thursday and out me in an 8,000-point hole (yes, 8,000 points), I never had a chance.
Thanks, Demiurge.
Fun game.
Grinding rapidly becomes untenable around the mid-200s
FWIW, I was pushing up to the top 10 at the end of both subs, and only barely made it into the top 30 with excessive use of medpacks and using up almost my entire stockpile of like 20-something AP all boosts
so the scaling is to blame as in every other PVE event, I'm just sick of the complaints in this thread, especially those of a small issue that based on many of the people who have posted here had little effect on being able to place top 300 -
What the kitty are you talking about? Thanks to the point fiasco, many of us had to grind like crazies to never even get close to those who got a 5-8k lead earlier. If some managed to even place top 5-10, I salute them, I'm not that hardcore. Oh I'm sure if I drove my scaling even higher I could grind for top 10, too.0

Yes I managed the same thing, did WAY more missions than normal though - probably 50-75% more - and would not have came first if Jimbojim had not basically stopped grinding in the last 2 days allowing everyone to close the 5K gap. Hopefully the next PvE event has no covers that I need and I can just write the whole event off and let my scaling recover. Or maybe go for last of the late starters if the format allows for it.
However if the same situation happens again no way am I going to work my kitty off to pull myself out of a hole not of my own making.0 -

Hey, bub, you weren't in my bracket.
First of all, reading comprehension ftw. First word in my post is "67th." I did make top 150, I didn't make top 30.
Despite those sub finishes, I was 7800 points behind the leader when the main repeatable nodes open. That's right, 5th and 1st in subs, and I made up 200 points. What was my top node, thanks to the rubberbanding that was supposed to save us all? Just under 500 points.
I ground my pins 3-4 times each, and never got within 2000 of the leader. Scaling didn't get me. There were just no points. By the end, I was still over 1000 shy of 10th place (I couldn't see the 30th place cut off, of course), and my nodes were all under 100 points.
I know some people managed to make their points up. For whatever reason, through no fault or poor play of my own, I was in a bad situation and got hit hardest by the change. The point is, I should never have been forced to make up 8000 points from square one.
I got screwed badly enough by Demiurge. I really don't need you attacking me and telling me I "screwed up."0 -

I feel your pain cos I got screwed too, though I'm around 2.5K points off the leader and there wasn't enough points to make it to the Top 5 unless I grind every single node to 1. And that would make the scaling impossible for me to overcome.
As for people complaining about us complaining, let's have an apple to apple comparison. Why don't the devs make everyone's Lazy Daken node the same as what one of the mods experienced - level 395. Then we'll see who'll be crying in the forums.0 -
Dear rewards office,
I would like to know the status of my rewards.
Sincerely,

I,
We have reviewed your account and determined that your rewards are "pending." Expect to receive them in the next sometime.

Dear rewards office,
Thank you for the quick response. I would like to inquire about the reason why, after 5 hrs, the rewards are still pending? Is it because of some weird server thingy that I don't know anything about? Does it really take 5 hrs to distribute rewards to 100,000 ppl when you can instantly send the rewards? I don't understand.
Hopeful,
I

Yes... and no. Precise. To the point. All the fat trimmed. CS like a boss.
On a related note I was starting to wonder why it takes them 6 hours to hand out the alliance rewards.
Lemme guess: They only showed "Top 150" on the reward screen, but actually coded "Top 100"?0 -
Same nothing yet. now 3:51 am >.>0

Was there a big bump in the available points in the last 4 hours of the event? I went to bed, not wanting to be up until about 5am, was in 18th and no-one seemed to be earning many points. Ended in 108th.0

i haven't seen my individual or alliance rewards yet, now 7h after the fact.0

I got my individual awards about 2 hours ago, and I jumped in early. No alliance award yet.0

Think I was in your bracket too, points were definitely lacking for me. Even grinding every node down to 1 - bar the last modaken node I was still at least 3k behind and finished in 66th.0 -
Why my reward is still pending and most of my alliance members already got them, is that normal?0

...that actually sounds frightfully plausible. I haven't gotten any rewards yet and it's been over 6h.0
