Top Gun May 07 - May 09 (Season 1)

I managed to go berserk in the last fifteen minutes - pushed my score from 580 to 720 something and rose from 135 to 80.

I still got utterly smashed earlier but at least I salvaged something out of it.

Has everybody given up on this game because now they're giving away 2* covers for pvp when previously you had to play your **** off, wasting all your time to get them? The economy of this game is now off I think. I'm not complaining though as I got my OBW blue from 2 -> 5 today, a feat that was on course to taking another 2 months. Overall I probably pulled over five 2* covers today, nice indeed but a slap in the face to early adopters.

Hardly a slap to the face for early players. 2* covers are a good source of ISO-8.

That blows. That is something I think they should change. That's way too many hits in such a short period of time. That's anywhere from 15-20 hits, almost 1 per minute. And we all know that match takes much more time than that.

I was going to unshield and run for #1 so I could get the Wolv X-Force cover so I could level him up a bit. But I don't have Patch either, so I just stayed shielded and prayed that I didn't drop below 10.

I used Pun/c.Mag/falcon this pvp and unless the board was filled with blue I found myself prioritizing pun's strike tiles and falcon's inspiration over getting mag's blue loops going. It's just so much faster.

With the new guys they're adding to the game C. Mags is no longer the stand out character he used to be IMO. His red is the only thing that might have to be reworked because of the low cost.

IceIX mentioned sometime this week that C. Mags was up next on their list for nerfs after Spidey. It seems like Spidey changes are finally coming in a week or two based off of inferring off of his posts, so I would expect C. Mags to come relatively "soon" after: I'm guessing in a couple months Demiurge time . But yeah, hedging just in case the nerfs hit after two weeks: not sure if 5/3/5 is gonna be good after nerfs.

I've been using Pun/C. Mags/Falcon as well, and I was still going for env crits in jungle/desert. I think that strategy is still faster than strike tiles + inspiration: most of the time it was hard for me to both get 9 green AP and then find yellow matches for inspiration immediately after: it was much faster to just match 6 blue, then spam crits and +5AP/desert green. If I had to choose between Pun/C. Mags and Pun/Falcon, its still pretty easily Pun/C. Mags: the team just does so much more.

What was your final score? If you were top 100, it may be that low- and mid-level players were targeting higher-value targets near the end and players with high-scores did not see you in their MMR or considered you worth too few points to be worth the effort.

I spent most of the last half day of this event seeing endless strings of 141 teams worth less than 20 points, no matter how much I skipped. Occasionally I gave in and fought one that didn't have LazyThor on it just in the hope that it would shake things up a bit...

Anyways, last hour of the event, same thing, skipping low point 141 teams, and then all of a sudden after two dozen or so skips, a MN Mags/cStorm team worth 31 points out of nowhere

I scored 956 and placed 49th in my bracket...rats! I really needed the covers to finish my patch, what luck. Below is top 10 of my bracket. Karma for getting a human torch from a standard pull! Curse you mpq lords!

that does suck... sorry to hear. Similar thing here though. Not sure what happened, but it completely locked up on me (no pun intended locked). Caused my phone to complete reboot within the last few minutes. During that time, my shield apparently expired with a minute or two left.

by the time my phone rebooted and had the game back up, there was <1 left and I had gotten a few hits and Def wins, but fell from 21 from 28. Fortunately, it could have been much worse I guess. Still frustrating.

They should nerf LThor first, he is more op than cmag

Yeah, pushed me out of top 10. But I had a 141 pun/OBW/weak Falcon node saved and managed to finish it within a minute at the very end.

So I actually made top 10 in the bracket of doom!
