    I’m confused....the chart says recruiting a 1* gives XP. Yet, when I recruit a 1* it doesn’t give me anything. Is it only for applying additional covers?

    Kind of.  If you recruit a 1* for the first time ever into your roster, you will get XP for that.  I’d imagine most players who use the forum already rostered all 1’s at one point already.

    Similarly, 2* farming only gives XP for applying covers.  Assuming that you have rostered them in the past.  Edit:  and 2* champing, adding champ levels etc give XP.

    Only reason for this change is to distract us from the dumpster fire that is wins based PvP!

    So now my xp gains are down to rng. Ever since the change I can barely draw a 3* from an elite. Had 20 2* draws in a row. Heroics are virtually all 2* and same with vaults. 

    So now there are no guaranteed amounts like doing 6 clears or dpd. It's all up to how your token rng goes.

    The XP change from opening tokens is probably the main drawback. I guess the reasoning was why should players be rewarded for opening a reward? Doing something with that reward is the key part. It was pretty handy though if you were close to going up a level and could get over the line just by opening tokens, I grabbed needed iso to champ a 4* and save covers a few times under the old system thanks to token XP.

    After a couple days with the change it seems like I've been gaining XP much faster than before. I've been lucky with some 5* draws, which certainly helps, but still. I've gained almost a full level since Thursday. As someone who doesn't play much PvP and didn't always green check PvE nodes, this is a great change for me.

    Hoarding is all about delayed gratification. Changes disincentivizing hoarding seem to be the order of the season.

    They want players that do have hoards to get rid of them so they can have the shiny new thing.

    Right, but I would wager that most players who don't mind dropping 500 CP for a guaranteed cover for an essential can replenish that 500 CP in about 10-13 days.  So not really busting their CP hoards unless you were pumping out a new 5* every 2 weeks or allowing the purchase of more than one cover in HfH.  For LT's it's really just business as usual.

    For those of us w/o a hoard, they are actively encouraging us to start one to have 500 CP on hand or enough CP/LT's to increase out probability of getting the shiny from pulls.  Just seems to clash with the anti-hoarding mindset.  

    Or I'm over-thinking it!

    With these edits, same for me. It's glaringly obvious that not all recent changes were announced.

    But, like for @Slothkins (my alliance leader), I, too, have been gaining XP much faster.

    Well, put it this way - previously there was no reason to open for a Latest character that you didn't want - so you could hoard until they left and pull for the next one, or whenever you were ready (why we have so many Gambits now).  But now they have provided both an incentive to acquire all the Latest 5s, AND a method for acquiring them directly.  So hoards should be smaller as a result.

    you're right, I agree, that was probably the thinking.  Indeed the increase in points for the 5* nodes they just pushed would support this. 

    I still think that a side-effect is going to be hoarding by players who wouldn't typically have been inclined to hoard.  Temporary hoards, I guess.

    Guess it remains to be seen if it works long-term.

    I don't know about a decrease in 3*s from elites, but it sure feels like I've gotten fewer Bonus Heroes at that level. Which had already felt like a decrease from when they were first implemented.

    Play the 5* essential node in CL9. Also, I believe that's one of the last champ rewards for a 2*.

    I might be wrong, but I believe that rage-quitting is rewarded with 3 XP, but only if you post a video.

    So, it looks like my overall XP gain is pretty much the same as before, but that's only because of the 1* farm.

    Basically I'm now buying the lost XP from mission clears/other stuff for 10 iso/xp
