Registering cards from Free boosters

Like everyone I hate this new thing of 1 card each 2 hours. The feeling is that the drops are worse compared to before the last update. So, I decided to take notes of what I'm getting in these "free boosters". I will post my data here, and everyone is welcome to do the same.

Worthy mention that it takes much more work to take cards each 2 hours, and up to now I had never succeed in getting more cards than previously, as my maximum is 9 per day (even considering my job, and the amount I sleep, both help me over most people).

So, in 27 cards:
20 common, 6 uncommon, 1 rare.

8 Origins; 6 Kaladesh; 6 Amonkhet; 7 Hour of Devastation.
17 dupes; 10 New.

New cards were 5 common from HOU, 1 common from Kaladesh (Hightide Hermit), 3 uncommon, and this good and unexpected rare. 3 out of 6 uncommon are dupes, even considering my collection. HOU gave nothing except common cards, and could still produce 2 dupes.

Day 4 just started... with another Aven Initiate.

I haven't been keeping exact track but I know I opened less cards than you because I'm missing more but I got two rares since the new system, Vryn Wingmare (a dupe) and Madcap Experiment (non-dupe). Apart from that there were some HOU commons I hadn't had before. I really like that it's only standard.

One of their goal for that change, must have been to make the player goes back more often to the app without having to give more rewards. 

Except for their producer and their excel sheet, I don't think anyone is happy with it.

The one pack also only gives you cards for Standard, a feature that was requested by many.

Good to know that people are still pulling rares. I don't think I've sniffed even an uncommon since this was implemented.

Just to mention, I HATE the fact it's just standard. Possibly would like it in the future, but for now, it makes much harder to me get any cards from BFZ and SOI, while giving me tons of dupes from Origins, Amonkhet, and soon HOU. We could have an option to include / exclude legacy cards, but I know I'm asking for too much, considering deaf devs. Also, events could give boosters from any expansion to your choice, instead of HOU, Amonkhet, etc. Again, asking for too much. They are never going to cooperate with the players, making easier to complete your collection, as they want to sell more boosters full of dupes. As a completionist, I'm hating the standard thing.

Anyone knows if the "basic" booster (3 cards) is also standard?

I will post detailed info again when I gather more data, but for now, 3 more cards today, and they were:
- Llanowar Wastes (my 5th copy of it, while I still miss Caves of Koilos and Shivan Reef)
- Aspiring Aeronaut (non-dupe)
- Riparian Tiger (dupe)

I have drawn SOI from the three card so I don't think it is standard limited

I do agree you "feel less lucky" opening one card than opening three. You aren't REALLY less lucky, but it has to do with psychology. If I open a 3-card booster, I have 3 identical shots at seeing a rare. If I open 3 1-card boosters, I ALSO have 3 identical shots at seeing a rare. But my lizard brain might notice this: "I opened more 3-card boosters with at least 1 rare than 1-card boosters with a rare." Do you see the flaw though? Same total cards, same total rares, but since with 3-card boosters I "pull the lever" fewer times, I feel like I won more often.

I have a feeling the decision to make the boosters "Standard Only" is a "cart before the horse" problem. Remember that they planned to release booster crafting before HOU's release, but later delayed booster crafting in order to get HOU out on time. If we had booster crafting, an answer to "You can only get Standard cards from free boosters." might be, "But you can craft non-Standard boosters using duplicates." So maybe they made the code changes for 1-card Standard boosters early on because it was easy, then didn't revert those changes when they decided to delay booster crafting. That makes a little bit of sense.

Obviously without booster crafting, it feels cash-grabby. I have a feeling that by the third or fourth booster crafting update, you'll be able to more easily get the non-Standard cards you want than you could when you have 3-card boosters. Maybe I'm just crazy optimistic.

Also for the record: I just opened a Longtusk Cub from a free booster, I'm pretty happy right now.

To add: I pulled another dupe rare (Fetid Imp) from one of the free boosters today, making it the third rare since the new system.

I've pulled a Mythic (Torment of Hailfire) and a Rare (Imaginary Threats) from the 1 Free Card, the rest have been commons/uncommons.

If that helps at all. No clue how many I've opened since they implemented the change.

And another dupe rare today: Glint-Sleeve Siphoner. That's four rares, even if it's three dupes. Doesn't really change my mind that the new system is so much worse.

5 out of 6 cards were common. 3 uncommon I got were non-dupes, at least. 2 more new cards, a common from Origins, another from HOU (which is not really wanting to give me cards).

About 30 packs in for the free card booster, and I received my first non-common. Mythic Yahenni, Undying Partisan. New to collection, all but two of the prior commons were new as well.

No problem, mate. I'm not registering data from other people, just because they aren't usable. Someone comes and says "got a rare", but this is not useful without the amount of cards taken, how many of other rarities and so. Of course, people that want register data can use this thread. But for now I only take notes of my own.

Again, 5 ou each 6 cards were common. New cards were 1 (not that useful) rare, 1 uncommon from HOU, and 3 common, 1 from Origins (Evolving Wilds), 2 from HOU.

In a full week, this is what I got:

63 cards (9 per day):
50 common, 11 uncommon, 2 rare.

19 Origins; 15 Kaladesh; 14 Amonkhet; 15 Hour of Devastation.
43 dupes; 20 new (11 common, 7 uncommon, 2 rare)
From 20 new cards, 10 were from HOU, 8 common and 2 uncommon.

I don't feel lucky looking at these data.

Today, up to now, 3 common (1 new) and 3 uncommon (2 new).

I also have paid attention to the 3 cards boosters I'm getting, and I'm being convinced these are standard, too. Even why, they are together to free 1 booster in the vault, and you can "look at the cards" (just standard).

Thanks largely to your excellent data, drop rates for 1-card free boosters can be seen to tracking the same as for 3-card basic boosters.  ~3000 recorded 3-pack drops had around 80% commons, 17% uncommons, 2.5% rares, and 0.5% mythics.  Your results here are pretty much bang on to that.

Curious fact: just got my 6th Cartouche of Knowledge, and I still miss Cartouche of Ambition.

Oh, and just started next day with my 3rd Thriving Rhino, 12 common cards in sequence (1 Uncommon in last 25 cards).

I guess my data is not valid at the moment. Something MUST be messing with drops ratings. 35 common cards in sequence can't be explained by bad luck or something. Also, 1 Uncommon and 47 common in last 48 cards.

I believe this has to do with that jewel pack they have sent by mistake at tuesday. Since it, from day 9 to now, its 4 entire days of common cards in free 1 card booster. Also, just common cards in basic 3 cards boosters. Normal 5 cards boosters from expansions are coming with no rares, usually 1 dupe uncommon.

I claimed that item, but didn't use, it's in my vault. Am I cursed? Someone else have it in the vault? Someone experiencing the same thing? Are devs doing this by purpose?

If common cards are supposed to be 80%, something is happening.
