And away we go! Your friendly neighborhood spider-man has left the building, bringing Webslinger and Season IV to a close. We finished in 28th place out of 23892 alliances with 15337 points. Our finish earned us She-Hulk red, 2000 ISO, and 100 HP. We are up to 9 out of 10 finishes in Top 50, I'm going to suspend tracking those until the next season starts. Individual stats to follow:
Beast1970 - 1335
FOAD - 1177
Jim1200 - 1095
entrailbucket - 1077
Kuangster - 1046

pbrownusmc - 201
Next up is Combined Arms, in which the reward is Human Torch. Bring your best 1*, 2*, and 3* to the table and see what happens! I believe the consensus is play at your own desire for this one, I know some guys still need HT covers, but some don't have any 1* characters left. I'll ask PorkBelly to weigh in on this, but I don't think we are holding anyone to the 600 minimum in this event, but if you can put up points, please do for those that still need the covers.
White1 might be reduced in points for the next week, and pbrownusmc is also facing some real life challenges. Expect their input to be lower than normal and wish pbrownusmc luck if you happen to see him in the chat. A big thanks to Ratfink for still getting 622 points with his new baby, great effort!
Next post is our Season IV standings, good luck out there and see you in the chat!0 -
Season IV has drawn to a close! I think we have seen our greatest turnover during this season, welcome to the new members, wish we had something better than IW covers to share... We finished in 27th place out of 29152 alliances with 228736 points. Our finish earned us Invisible Woman yellow, 500 ISO, and 25 HP. We got passed for 25th place in the last few hours, still, this is our highest season placement to date and I'm proud of all of you! Before anyone tries to mea culpa for our placement, we were down by 3427 points at the end, and no one person was going to make that up in one event, or even the Shield Simulator in one day. Individual stats to follow:
Beast1970 - 17109
Jim1200 - 16320
entrailbucket - 14425

Well, I did it! Beat Jim by 789 points for the Season IV title! Having done that, I would never have gotten there without the constant banter from Jim early in the season, and help from both entrailbucket and PorkBelly in roster development along the way. I don't think I'll be pushing quite as hard next season, but this season turned me from a 800-900 point player into having the ability to reach the 1100-1300 range at will.
We will have to see what the rewards are in Season V, then expect a discussion here about what the alliance goals will be. Everyone's voice matters, so please chime in when we get the info. Meanwhile, good luck out there and see you in the chat!0 -
Congrats Beast on the season win. It's nice to know that you can pretty much take on whoever you want. It was fun climbing the ladder with you. Congrats everyone for a great turnout on the season. For the fact that everyone agreed that we would take it easy at the beginning, we did great!0

Ok, so what is everyone's thoughts on the current PVE? Covers are Patch, which is good. Highest progression reward is HT red, also good. Best though is that Fury is available in the event tokens. Top 50 alliances get an event token vice a heroic, and they run deep for individual rewards as well.
My vote would be we do this one, next season has not started yet and most of us have a Nick Fury which gives us a leg up on the current sub required node. I think we could do well, and at the least, most of us can use the ISO. I'd like to hear from others on this so we can come to a consensus either way.0 -
I'm in.
May the rubber bands be with us.0 -
Neither Patch nor Torch covers will be of much interest to me (if the current PvE goes as I hope it does). Individual Fury covers will be unattainable for me. But I'll play as much as I can for the alliance (and maybe some tokens).0
-
I'm in! But when am I not?0
-
I'm in it for the tokens.
2.3% chance of that purple Fury cover is better than none.0 -
We are done with Combined Arms now, which gave us a chance to put our one from each column team together and see how we did. Again, we had stated we weren't worried about this PVP. And again, having said that, we finished in 54th place as an alliance out of 25187 alliances, with a nice 11111 points. Our finish earned us Human Torch red, 1000 ISO, and 50 HP. Individual stats to follow:
blacklist45 - 985
Jim1200 - 976 (First in bracket)
solesoulsorrow - 957 (First in bracket)
Beast1970 - 920 (First in bracket)
Jameson2014 - 692
Apkahym - 652
FOAD - 623
Bobby Digi - 617
PorkBelly - 593
Kuangster - 573
pbrownusmc - 561
entrailbucket - 510
Neilorax - 506
Spanntastic12 - 477
White1 - 465
Nintenji - 307
Ratfink845 - 297
Proximity - 226
Ads_2013 - 174
Felux - 0 points due to no one stars left in his roster.
I added the first in bracket tag this time since I think it was pretty impressive for us to catch so many. I'm assuming blacklist47 also finished in first, and will update when I confirm. If anyone else did as well, let me know in chat and I'll update as necessary.
Next up is Nefarious Foes, in which the reward is Psylocke. I wonder if this points to solesoulsorrow's favorite PVP coming up? Bring your Sentry / Lazy Daken / Hood team to the table and prepare to wreak havoc!
Don't forget about the ISO-8 Brotherhood PVP! We are currently in 19th place overall, but more important are the sub event tokens. Each token has a chance of snagging a Nick Fury, and Jameson2014 has already landed one, allowing him to participate in the Fury required nodes!
Good luck out there and see you in the chat!0 -
So GuiltTrip performed his season 4 analysis, and we got a call out, snipped below with portions cut out:GuiltTrip wrote:Here is the break down this season:

Hey everybody,
Thank you for all the well baby wishes. Things are going great here, and everybody is healthy. Adjusting to life with two kids, while trying to study for my board exams for medical licensure in a month!
I will continue plugging away trying to make 600 points per pvp. 3 times a week + pie sounds daunting in the immediate future, but I am amazing at procrastinating real work, so I imagine it will get done. I will let the commanders know if I need a break. Once I make it through this month, however, life should be much smoother sailing and I can devote all my time and HP to MPQ
Thanks again,
Joshua0 -
Sounds like you are going to be quite busy. Good luck! And where are the baby pics?0

Any thoughts about season 5? I will be going for Fury at 1300 in this PVP, but I'm not all that excited about the season rewards. I'm ok if we decide to take it easy like we had agreed in season 4. But, I'm not quite sure if we really took it easy in season 4.0
-
Maybe getting top-25 should be our goal this season?0
-
X-Force yellow is arguably worse than IW yellow.
So I vote to take this season on a PvP by PvP basis again.
I'm excited about Fury, though so I will most likely go a bit harder when he is a reward.
I think as long as people make the 600 point minimum for each PvP, placement will work itself out nicely.0 -
yeah, everybody should hit at least 600 per event, as agreed0
-
Agreed. Get em.0
-
top 25 is good for bragging rights but extra 500 iso and 25 coin does not seem to be worth that big a push, happy to hit alliance point target, personally i want to beat my season 4 score, but it will depend on what each pvp offers.0
-
My vote is to take it easy, but still with the 600 point per player threshold. I agree with PorkBelly that the scores will take of themselves. I almost hit 10K points racking up horrible performances if not for missing 3 PvPs due to unfortunate phone circumstances tied with the weekend customer service break.
The reason why we did so well last season was that the events chosen were pretty good and worth fighting for covers. Others on the forums mentioned there were no DD, Loki, or Ragnarok events last Season so there were no opportunities to relax as all events gave covers we wanted. I have no doubt that when those 3 events show up we will just coast for 2.5 days.0 -
I agree with PorkBelly's proposition, but have a few concerns, reservations, or ideas... Not sure how to actually classify them, so I'll just list.
1. I would still like us to make top 100 in each event. Achieving this will always provide covers to everyone, which can always be sold for more ISO for those that don't need them. And as the rewards have always been 3* covers, that is an extra 500 ISO for those that don't need the covers. For those that do, it is essentially an extra 1250 HP, the cost of buying a 3* cover.
2. To achieve item #1, it really needs to be a group effort. I know you will still see Jim1200 putting up insane scores this season, as I expect we will see more events with Fury as a reward, but some of us (ok, maybe just me) would like to relax sometimes. For the first four seasons, I stayed awake until each PVP end in case we needed last minute points to keep us in our bracket. Some were heartbreaking, some were successful, some were unnecessary. I'm on the east coast of the US, which means now I'm staying up until 1am for the night end PVPs, and I have to be in to work by 7:30am. I'm not going to lie, it is starting to get to me, but I feel responsible as a commander to make sure we succeed. I'm about to transfer to a new billet where I'll be arriving at work about 6am, and I don't think I can sustain the 1am nail biter endings once that starts in a few weeks. I would like to occasionally shield and get some sleep.
3. We need to make sure we are all doing our best to hit the 600 point per player threshold. If that is ALL everyone does, that is 12000 points each event. Throw in Jim and a few 800-1000 players, we are up to 14000. That should get us easy top 100 to top 50 each and every PVP. What hurts is when some push to 1200-1300 points, then at the end of the event, seeing multiple 200-300 point scores posted.
4. We actually need to communicate about what people need. The communication is more required from those with less developed rosters than the rest, as I don't really care if the reward is C Mags, Sentry, Hood, etc. I have them, don't need the covers, but I DO need to know how many other need them without having to open every person's roster. Hell, I'd be glad to push to 1200 for a Loki or Rag if someone just says they want the alliance reward to finish theirs. I don't even care if you never level him, I understand wanting to complete the character! I might even push for a DD or IM40 cover if you ask nicely!
5. Apparently I am entirely incapable of writing a short post. Sorry about that.
tl/dr: I'm in.0
