Dormammu - Recruiting Now!

Hey there everyone.

I named & started the alliance based on my affection for the Steve Ditko- Stan Lee run in Strange Tales where they introduced the character of Dormammu.

Feel free to post strategies/tips/tricks that you like to use in the game.

I'll probably drop in from time to time and make inane comments based on my gameplay.

I also just saw that a few extra slots just opened up.

I'll post in the recruitment thread again to try and fill those.

Crocodiliac is currently out of town on business until Tuesday.

He's a game designer/freelance writer so his schedule is probably going to be a little erratic.

You guys will also see me go away periodically. I'm US Navy, currently on shore duty, but my job involves travel that includes 16 hour plane rides to go halfway around the world, and some underway time on submarines so no chance of playing. I'll try to let you guys know when I'll be away ahead of time. I will probably be returning to sea duty this fall, will take me out of action for 3-4 months at a time periodically due to underway time. I'll bring it up when it gets closer to see what we want to do with me then.

FYI - I'm a college professor & I live in East Coast US so the timing usually works out pretty well for me.

The tourneys/events that end at noon ET are usually a little bit tougher but I can usually still manage.

& Beast, i'm sure we can figure something out when that time comes.

I am a Sales engineer for Citrix systems. I have a 2 week commitment coming up that will not allow me to play much, trying to do my best while I have the time. I would really enjoy not getting the boot while I am away

hey guys, finally joined the forum...I thought I did a long time ago, been lurking for months now. nice to meet everybody, sounds like we have some interesting folks. I'm a computer programmer; I work for the agency here that recovers organs for transplant. I keep kind of weird hours because of work, and I might disappear occasionally if something crazy happens, but it's usually not too bad.

anyway, looking forward to much success with you guys!

The bucket of entrails is completely unrelated to work, in case you're worried...that was the name of my death metal band a long time ago.

BTW, if anyone in the alliance has slick photoshop skills & wants to put together a cool signature graphic for Dormammu U, I think that would be pretty cool.

That is pretty easy.

We would upload the file to a host (postimage or some other site) & then just edit your profile under the "user control panel) & link to it.

Hi guys, apologies for taking so long to join the thread! Thanks all for letting me join such a friendly group. We seem like a strong bunch so will hopefully do well!

As for me I'm in England so annoying a lot of the events finish about 4/5AM. I do work shifts though so don't worry, they'll be some instances when I'll take adavantage of being on a 12 hour shift!

Was nice seeing us get top 100 for Punisher rewards. Was my first 2 covers of him so I'm very grateful and thank you all.




I did have a quick question if someone could help me out fast though.

I just pulled another purple OBW cover from a heroic token.

That would put my current build to 4/4/3.

There is also another OBW in the hunt rewards, again purple. Putting her up to 5/4/3.

In an Ideal build I would love to have her at 3/5/5... without a doubt.



My question is this. Should I even bother using the covers????

It seems like her purple at 9 has been very useful and clutch for me.... putting it up to 11, even if only until I get the black covers later, seems like it would do more harm then good???

Or am I completely off here.... Is it better just to level her to 85 as fast as possible so she does more damage, and has more Hit points so I can take more hits with her.


Any feedback would be appreciated and thanks a bunch.

Well, you've articulated the source of the conflict.

It really depends on 1) the levels of the characters that you're pairing her with, 2) what colors they use & 3) how much you want to use espionage.

Since espionage only works when widow makes the match, you would need to raise her levels if you want to capitalize.

However, I use OBW primarily for healing & countdown control & AP stealing, I like to keep her in the back anyway.

So, I would probably not use the purple covers. The only thing you really lose by doing this, in my opinion, is the total amount of health that she can heal when she uses blue.

Espionage really shows it's power when matched with attack tiles. She can be one of the strongest hitting 2 stars when matched with a Draken or other attack tile gen. The only thing to be careful of is some other Chars can out damage her for base match damage and you loose the Espionage. I have run her forever at 3/5/5 you can use the other covers to get her to lvl 85 and then just switch them out when you find the ones you want.

Interesting. I frequently forget about the strike tile combo with Espionage.
