  • i almost hit top20 in captain marvel but it was possible because of storm 5 red mistres, my team was magneto obw and storm and it took like 5-10 min to kill 300+ lvl thugs. but now storm was changed and i'm truly wondering if they do same or more hardcore pve event will it even be possible for average roster like mine to handle it.

I'm curious to see what the structure is like.

If it is 3 days, I will grind the entire time nonstop.

If it is 7-10 days, I will most likely join late to maximize my chances of placing & counting on the rubberband for points.

That has worked well for me in the past 2 PvE events.
  • I fear much for the Deadpool event. I believe the competition for the top 100 alliance will be very very fierce.

As a prelude to the Deadpool event, we have now finished the Oscorp:Heroic PVE. I'd like to thank everyone on behalf of those needing Hood for pulling together on PVE, if this is any indication we should be able to achieve a Top 100 finish in Deadpool! We set a new PVE record for us finishing 23rd out of 24934 alliances with 1459891 points, earning us Hood blue, 2000 ISO, and 100 HP! Again, to put things in perspective, only the top 10000 alliances earn any rewards, and a quick trip to the calculator shows we were in the top 0.09% of all alliances. Not too shabby, guys! Individual stats to follow, which also reveals our new recruits are exactly what we needed to help the alliance's PVE performance:

    Felux - 96602
    Apkahym - 96160
    Jim1200 - 93033
    blacklist47 - 87702
    Bobby Digi - 86666
    Kuangster - 85677
    Nintenji - 83841
    entrailbucket - 83487
Beast1970 - 82667 (really not used to being this far down the list, kind of feels good...)
    Neilorax - 80237
    PorkBelly - 78510
    Ratfink845 - 78507
    solesoulsorrow - 74489
    White1 - 68289
    Proximity - 63624
    FOAD - 61413
    Ads_2013 - 48789
    Spanntastic12 - 38682
    ashish.utd - 36788
    pbrownusmc - 34728

So, the results we put up in this PVE were what I was talking about back on page 9 of this thread. Our top member put up 96K, our bottom put up 34K. We have enough grinders in the alliance to put us where we want if everyone puts in some effort. The PVE I posted about on page 9 had the top member putting up 100K, but the bottom member put up 2K, and we finished that PVE in 65th place vice this one in 23rd place. Last season we had missed the top 100 mark in PVE a few times.

I'd be interested in hearing from some of you as to what you did differently this time. Specifically, White1 had voiced concerns about PVE before (which we reassured him would not be an issue). Ratfink has also expressed PVE concerns in chat before, but still put up great points here. Did you guys do a hard grind, or did you try the twice a day route? Did this PVE cause burnout, or was it manageable? Please take a few to post what worked for you, because if it worked well and reduced the stress of prior events, others here may benefit from your experience.

Personally, I tried to limit myself to hitting PVE twice, maybe three times a day max, and only hit each node once starting at the lowest point node working to the highest. While I saw enemy levels go up, it wasn't too bad at the end, and I finished right in the middle of the alliance's score. Doing more quick math, the average score was right about 73000 for this event, so you can use that as a reference point as people share what they did to see where they end up. The only additional grinding I did was an extra clear of 4 nodes in the last 30 minutes of the event. I generally tried to get home for lunch for my first clear of the day, and waited until right before I went to sleep for my second clear, which evenly spaced them out and took the best advantage of rubber banding for me.

I'll let him explain more, but PorkBelly waits until close to the end of the event and takes advantage of the bungee cord on crack effect. The main reason I start close to the beginning instead of following Pork is the ISO harvesting. I generally need the ISO more than the covers for these, unless there are new characters, so I make sure I start early to maximize how much ISO I bring in. Pork's strategy is probably best for ensuring covers from the event, but he does miss out on individual rewards from the subs as well as ISO from nodes. Bear this in mind as others share their experience and make sure you understand the pros and cons if you decide to shift your method of play. If you are unsure, just ask, there are enough of us that have tried different methods and can help point out the effects, and perhaps help you decide what is most important to your roster at this time.

Again, great effort everyone! This is our third Top 50 finish in a row, and again, compare this Top 50 to the last PVE placement of 127th place! Good luck out there and see you in the chat!
  • I just hit the essential nodes up twice a day and grind the last hour of subs or the main event. Now for Deadpool my strategy will change as I want him.

I tried joining around 12 hours prior to the end of the 1st sub, which I think was at least 24 hours into the game. With rubber banding I jumping into 3rd in the alliance grinding that. Then I grinded at the end of the 1st sub. I did the same with the second sub. I didn't play for a full day. With rubber banding my highest node was 4000 and I think at one point I jumped to 1st in the alliance. By the end of the 2nd sub I finished 2nd in my bracket and the last day there was very little rubber banding and I did those every 6 and ended 2nd in my bracket. I don't know if the timing was exact, but I definitely did not feel like I played even close to the amount that I normally do, but I placed better than I ever had in my bracket.
  • end times are still dictating my strategy in pve but i also followed porkbelly's lead, left the first round as 5am finish, came in on round 2 5pm finish was perfect did a sweep at the start 2 sweeps in the evening, then hit essential's every 2-4hrs and as hard as i could a hour from the end and finished 2nd in my bracket, last round was 5am finish so just did what was needed for the 60k reward and then essential's every 2-4hrs, i was still in the top 50 with 5hrs to go and ended up #77

i have resigned myself to not being able to compete for top rewards in pve, but was left happy in the end, posted a score no burnout, got 2 hood rewards and made it into work the next day.

    all good icon_e_smile.gif
  • Darn. Accidentally skipped the opening dialogue for the PVE event with Hawkeye. So used to hitting the double arrow button to speed things along. Anyone, feel free to post that icon_e_biggrin.gif

Cage Match is now complete! Again, great finish, we were 30th as an alliance out of 24369 alliances with 16230 points, earning us Modern Thor red, 2000 ISO, and 100 HP and extending our Top 50 finish streak to 3 PVPs, 4 events overall. Individual stats to follow:

    Jim1200 - 1074
    Spanntastic12 - 1065
    White1 - 1036 (congrats on breaking the 1K mark!)
    Kuangster - 1001
    Ratfink845 - 966
    entrailbucket - 945
    Beast1970 - 931
    PorkBelly - 929
    Felux - 915
    Apkahym - 863
    Nintenji - 841
    Proximity - 832
    blacklist47 - 831
    Ads_2013 - 763
    pbrownusmc - 739
    Neilorax - 697
    FOAD - 618
    solesoulsorrow - 607
    Bobby Digi - 446
    ashish.utd - 131

Next up is Lord of Thunder, in which the reward is Hood (again...). This plus the last PVE plus progressions in the current PVE should damn near give everyone a full Hood. FYI, I finished my Hood covers last PVE, been playing since last October, not that I'm bitter or anything...

I'd like to thank everyone that broke the 600 mark as it allows some of us to save some HP we would otherwise have to use shield hopping to keep the alliance score up in the top 100. It also reduces the burnout some of us were feeling, so it is much appreciated.

As a reminder, we have a few members on the injured list, as far as I know the following are still fighting through issues and may have reduced point inputs: Proximity, pbrownusmc, Bobby Digi, Jim1200. I will add myself to this list for Tuesday through Friday as I'll be out of town for business.

Good luck out there and see you in the chat!
  • back to full health , 3 days of intermittent access due to extreme weather
  • Will do what I can for Thor PVP, but having problems balancing it with Deadpool PVE. Currently focusing primarily on PVE, since the alliance needs those points more. Since I only need blue Hood cover, I will do what I can for PVP, but am happy with alliance top 100 place finish.

I agree with focusing mostly on PVE for Deadpool right now. Judging from the PVP scores in my bracket, I believe everyone is doing the same.

    And the servers are down.
  • I apologize for my super low score. Was hoping to push from 300 to 600 in the last hour, but with the servers down I can't do jack.

Not too worried about PVP, we should still end up in the top 100, even more likely if the servers stay down. Last I saw we were top 100 in PVE, I'd just like the servers to come back up so I can confirm that before I go to sleep. I had thought the server crash problem was a thing of the past, but if any event would cause it, Deadpool is the one.
  • I wanted the 400 and 600 score HPs. That's the only reason I care.
  • Same here. Got cut off by the servers. I wanted to make a last minute push in Thor. Oh well.

Allright, here are the results from Deadpool vs. MPQ! We finished in 83rd place out of 26057 alliances with 577666 points, earning us Deadpool purple, 1000 ISO, and 50 HP. We enlisted the aid of a temporary member for the first time, since Bobby Digi's game is down at the moment, which was enough to ensure our top 100 placement in this much contested event. Everyone should feel proud of our finish, as stated by IceIX this event was the most participated event since launch! Individual stats as follows:

    blacklist47 - 37736
    Apkahym - 37559
    Nintenji - 37499
    Felux - 36821
    entrailbucket - 36753
    Beast1970 - 34823
    Ratfink845 - 34387
    Jim1200 - 34350
    PorkBelly - 33718
    Neilorax - 32301
    Kuangster - 31690
    solesoulsorrow - 28905
    pbrownusmc - 26725
aeonblue08 - 26709 (Thanks for the temp fill, enjoy your covers)
    Spanntastic12 - 23214
    White1 - 22194
    Ads_2013 - 21806
    FOAD - 21704
    ashish.utd - 9935
    Proximity - 8837

We believe the next PVE will be Thick as Thieves, which was painful the first two times around. We will see what the rewards are then cast your votes to see if we grind or just casually play that event. Personally, I'm hoping the rewards are Bullseye or Bagman...

Good luck out there and see you in the chat!

Well, Lord of Thunder went out with a whimper as Deadpool killed the servers one hour prior to the end time. I know many of you were counting on that hour to boost your scores after investing the time in PVE for Deadpool covers, but even with that we finished 61st out of 22252 alliances (notice many alliances didn't enter this event at all) with 11158 points. Our placement earned us Hood blue, 1000 ISO, and 50 HP. Individual stats are as follows, not reading much into them due to the messed up event end:

    Beast1970 - 945 (Beating out Jim1200, I will point out...)
    Jim1200 - 923
    Apkahym - 807
    White1 - 807
    Felux - 783
    Spanntastic12 - 725
    entrailbucket - 641
    blacklist47 - 634
    PorkBelly - 621
    pbrownusmc - 616
    FOAD - 587
    Kuangster - 566
    Ads_2013 - 509
    solesoulsorrow - 430
    Proximity - 420
    ashish.utd - 356
    Ratfink845 - 303
    Nintenji - 273
    Neilorax - 155
aeonblue08 - 57 (again, thanks for the fill for Deadpool)

Currently up is Unholy Outlaw, in which the reward is Storm Mohawk. Make sure and let us know if you need her covers to ensure we participate to the right level on this one.

Injured reserve list is as follows: Bobby Digi, pbrownusmc, Beast1970 (reduced points Tuesday through Friday).

If you message the Commanders and don't want your name to show up here, let us know. I figured this was a good way, without being too specific, to let everyone know why so-and-so's score is low for a bit. Again, we are taking the scores above with a grain of salt between concentrating our effort on Deadpool and the last hour server crash. With everything back working, and no PVE going on, the expectation is back to 600 points each in PVP, except for Jim1200 because I'm catching back up to him in Season points...

Good luck out there and see you in the chat!

I'm pretty happy with my two scores over the weekend considering I went to the wify's family reunion, had spotty reception, and got "I'm going to kill you looks" from her anytime I had my phone in hand:-) But I have to get back on track. Can't let you catch up beast!
