Seriously? Server crash again without any events ending? Pretty bad considering only one PVP is running, and no PVE's. Wonder if they just entered the code to send out the compensation tokens and it caused the overload.

It's a conspiracy so I couldn't play to pass you on the leader boards beast.

I need someone to help update event stats until Friday or Saturday, no way I want to do that post on mobile in my hotel room, and I didn't bring a laptop with me. Any takers?
  • I can do it. Just joined again. They restored my account. Hopefully I got everything back as there is no way for me to tell the difference. From now on I am backing up my save game on a microSD card as Facebook is unreliable in my opinion. Again I will be able to post results. Thanks for all the patience while I got everything sorted out.

I'm pretty happy with my two scores over the weekend considering I went to the wify's family reunion, had spotty reception, and got "I'm going to kill you looks" from her anytime I had my phone in hand:-) But I have to get back on track. Can't let you catch up beast!

I know those! I get those same looks from my fiancé...
  • First of all I am glad to be back. Being dead in game was frustrating to say the least.

Posting for Beast1970 as he is unable to due to work. Now that Unholy Outlaw has finished we ended with a finish of 48th out of 24975 alliances (notice the big jump in alliance participation since the Deadpool event ended) with 15,336 points. Our placement earned us Storm Mohawk yellow, 2000 ISO, and 100 HP. Individual stats are as follows:

Beast1970 - 1236 (beating out Jim1200 again...say what!?) (also is this a new personal best?)
    Jim1200 - 1108
    entrailbucket - 1049
    Spanntastic12 - 934
    White1 - 926
    Felux - 910
    Kuangster - 881
    Ratfink845 - 844
    PorkBelly - 832
    Apkahym - 812
    ashish.utd - 772
    blacklist47 - 771
    FOAD - 747
    Ads_2013 - 715
    solesoulsorrow - 664
Bobby Digi - 646 (I feel this is respectable as I only was restored with 7 hours to go and also had to divide my time between this and TaT)
    pbrownusmc - 616
    Neilorax - 580
    Nintenji - 483
    Proximity - 426

Currently up is Category-5, in which the reward is Deadpool.
  • Weapon Tex-Mex, sometimes the devs strike gold.
  • Look what I just found from: Re: The joke is no longer funny; end death brackets.... now!

It's not about who you play individual matches against, but who you share brackets with.

To clarify further, there are brackets full of forumites that 1100 points won't get you top ten in, and others full of noobs where 600 will win the thing.

Case in point, I''m in a happy bracket with THREE X-Men and three commanders from CareBearStare, Dormammu and Olympus. Something tells me my 1278 points won't net me the 5th place I need icon_e_smile.gif while a teammate is 5th with 800 something points in a bracket where the first one is 900 something.
    We are recognized!

All right, Category-5 has now blown through. Fierce competition as the rewards were Deadpool, this one took a significant effort for those of us trying to finish high individually. We finished 29th out of 23983 alliances with 17758 points, setting a new alliance record for most points beating the old record by about 1000. We were also just 553 points out of Top 25 for this one. Our finish earned us Deadpool red, 2000 ISO, and 100 HP. Individual stats to follow:

Beast1970 - 1513 (set a new personal record, new alliance record, and beat the tinykitty out of Jim, third time in a row. Plus, it was fun and I topped the two X-Men in my bracket)
PorkBelly - 1359 (new personal best as well, I believe)
    Jim1200 - 1228 (I can't believe you finished in third!)
    entrailbucket - 1151
    White1 - 1144 (yet another with a personal best!)
solesoulsorrow - 1113 (holder of the previous alliance record of 1434 points scored in the first Fresh Cut event)
    Felux - 1110
    FOAD - 1077
    Kuangster - 1055
This is a great point to comment that nearly half the alliance pushed above 1K, great job guys!
    Ratfink845 - 923
ApKaHyM - 881 (congrats on your personal best here!)
    blacklist47 - 878
Spanntastic12 - 845 (lucky man, missing the end of your shield and still staying top 25)
    Nintenji - 678
    pbrownusmc - 665
    Ads_2013 - 651
    Bobby Digi - 650
    Neilorax - 496
    Proximity - 272
    ashish.utd - 69

As far as I am aware, our injured reserve list only consists of Ratfink845 which will occur at some unspecified time in the near future.

Next up is Weapon Tex-Mex as pointed out by Bobby earlier, in which the reward is Human Torch. Don't forget the 1100 progression reward is Deadpool red if you need another for your build.

Good luck out there and see you in the chat!

I keep getting my butt kicked by you Beast! But after seeing that last screenshot, I think I was in a super easy bracket considering I didn't even have to play the last 24 hours and still got 2nd. Great job everyone for a great team effort!

not trying to blow my own trumpet but its worth saying that i was the only player in that top 10 with no maxed characters, which leads me to ask the question on why i end up in these brackets, does the size of your roster make a difference?

p.s beast this score was also my personal best, just incase you are keeping records

Weapon Tex-Mex is done, and a great job to the alliance on this one! We finished in 22nd place out of 24906 alliances with 16642 points setting a new alliance record for placement. Our finish earned us Human Torch green, 3000 ISO, and 100 HP. Individual stats to follow:

    Beast1970 - 1303
PorkBelly - 1189 (nice jump at the last minute to take Top 5 rewards)
    Jim1200 - 1127 (I tell ya, you're going down this season!)
Felux - 1110 (Welcome to the 1100 club, enjoy the Deadpool cover)
    entrailbucket - 1037
    Kuangster - 1003
FOAD - 996 (Nice score, sorry you got smacked around so much getting here)
    pbrownusmc - 917
blacklist47 - 870 (all that, and enough PVE points right now to earn two Deadpool progressions)
    Spanntastic12 - 814
    White1 - 801
    Ratfink845 - 746 (nice points, n00b)
    Bobby Digi - 726
    solesoulsorrow - 717
    Apkahym - 663
    Nintenji - 629
    Neilorax - 615
    Ads_2013 - 613
    Proximity - 471
    Ashish.utd - 295

Again, thanks to everyone that pushed 600, we get to enjoy an extra 1000 ISO for our finish. Pretty sure everyone except entrailbucket can use it!

Same note as last time, Ratfink845 is the only member in "gone for a bit at any time" status. Thought he was in away status for this event, turns out he was just being a n00b and forgot which day the event ended! Had to be said, I promised I would in chat.

I'd like to tell you what event is next, and what we are competing for, but it appears that the devs may have fallen asleep at the wheel as there is nothing up right now! Enjoy the short break, go find yourself some intermission music.

As there is not other PVP running right now, the Season IV scores should be a real and accurate indicator of how we are doing with 7 days left. Currently we are ranked 24th as an alliance, with the reward brackets being 6-25 and 26-100. We have about a 2000 point lead on wrecking crue, and are about 400 points behind The X-Men 5. and 700 points behind 5DeadlyOmens. Additionally, I am 319 points ahead of Jim1200 overall for the season. Someone else will have to take over next season, beating Jim is not really sustainable, but I'm giving it my best for the next week! Last season he beat me by over 1300 points.

Good luck out there and see you in the chat!

I can't let you take the season crown away Beast. I might have to try and push more. We'll see though, I have been really trying to use as little HP as possible.

Ok, I'm posting this as a fair reminder of expectations. We have mentioned a few times now, both here and in chat, that we have a reasonable expectation that everyone push for 600 points in PVP events. We expect everyone participate in PVE events, and generally we discuss both here and chat as to how much we care about the current PVEs. Participation in PVE should be evident, a general guideline would be to clear at least the essential nodes or equivalent daily during the event. If you check the scores in the PVE you should be able to easily judge this, obviously discarding the high scores that grinders put up.

Here is some of the reasoning behind the expectations. There are three Commanders. PorkBelly founded the alliance and supplied the basic attitude and aims for us, then set about recruiting people with similar goals. The other two Commanders helped fund the alliance expansion. For those of you that are unaware, a basic 5 man alliance only takes some ISO to start. Each spot opened beyond 5 requires HP to open. Spot 6 is 600 HP, spot 7 is 700 HP, spot 19 is 1900 HP, spot 20 is 2000 HP. So all together, a 20 man alliance requires 19500 HP to form. To put that in monetary terms, a Stark Salary of 20000 HP costs $99.99 USD, so the Commanders actually have an investment in this alliance.

Our expected return on investment comes in enjoyment of the alliance aspect of the game. We stated we want to be at least a top 100 alliance, but not grind everyone into the ground. The next things I have to say may be unpopular, but need saying. We discussed, for nearly a season, whether to set a minimum threshold for points per event. A large part of this derives from the perception of freeloading when we would see some members work enough to gain the 300 point progression event token and stop, while others were shield jumping multiple times at the end of events to ensure the alliance was able to win covers. We finally decided that 600 points is fair, and should be easily achievable. We have solidly been a top 100 alliance since Season 1, and lately have been scoring in the top 50. Here comes the unpleasant part: If you don't feel you can achieve 600 points per event, you probably are not ready to be part of a top 100 alliance.

Now that the unpleasantness is past, I have seen everyone we have able to achieve that score. This observation was part of our decision to set the bar at that point. 800-1000 is much harder to reach, and much harder to maintain, and we get that. 600 points should be achievable in less than a day (Ratfink took less than 2 hours to post 600 points in the last event). So it is achievable by everyone in the alliance. Back to being the bad guy: if you aren't reaching 600, you are not pulling your fair share of the weight. We will have high scorers like myself, Jim, PorkBelly, entrailbucket, Felux, etc. that will reach up past the 1K mark. Those will push us past top 100 into top 50 or top 25 range, but the base of 600 points per member will ensure we always hit top 100 even if members have a bad night or two.

Again referring back to previous posts, we most definitely understand that people have a life, and as such, things may occur preventing them from posting these points. It has happened in the past, and when we get a heads up either by a post here or a PM to us, no big deal. If a 600 point member cannot participate in an event, the upper point guys can split that score and push a little more to compensate and we still get top 100 rewards. Relatively easy if we know it is coming. The disappointment comes in seeing someone score below 400 points with no given reason, again, appearing to freeload. And when this becomes more frequent, others notice and begin to comment, normally in PMs (as would be appropriate).

Above all else, we want the alliance to be fun. We want the chat to be used, and not always just for game tips. We want to be friendly. When issues with other members becomes a concern, it affects the whole alliance and causes dissention and strife.

So, my personal belief is the only ones actually invested, that could even possibly say the alliance owes them anything, would be the Commanders. I also believe none of the Commanders have that attitude, therefore, neither should anyone else. If you are registered on the forum and have posted in this thread, such that the Commanders have your forum name, you will receive a PM about your participation level before anything happens. Always. But, if no change is seen, if we have no reliable way to contact you, and the amount of participation you are willing to contribute is decisively less than most, you may log in one day and find yourself no longer part of the alliance. Again, I stress that advanced communications will prevent this every time! Feel free to ask in chat and multiple members will most likely relate the times they let us know something was up, and they are still here. But we (or at least I) can no longer feel bad about considering the removal of a member for these reasons. As such, here is my explanation to you, should this happen, in advance.

I welcome comments and debate, as I feel this post came off pretty heavy handed, and I do not wish any miscommunication about this subject.

Having said all that, good luck out there and see you in the chat!

600 points should be achievable in less than a day (Ratfink took less than 2 hours to post 600 points in the last event).
Exactly. When my account was resurrected by Customer Service I was able to fight my way to over 600 points in two runs with 7 hours left before the end of the tournament. I believe it was Unholy Outlaw. Also even though I was booted from the alliance because I couldn't help for 4 days they graciously let me back in once everything was fixed using temps to fill in for top 100 alliance results. Let me tell you, I needed to be booted because I was hurting the team, and in fact asked for it as I didn't know if CS could help me or not. I have been a part of some pretty bad alliances and this one is definitely not one of those. Communication is never an issue unless it is your own. With this post/agreement in mind I believe we will be a top 25 when we want and no lower than top 50 when we relax and it has been this way for several seasons. Even more so with some of the heavy hitters we have.
  • Well said..I'll definitely try to pick up my PVE scoring ...but all in all I think we have a really good alliance and I appreciate being one of the circle.
