Unless it's a surprise, Saheeli will definitely not be in the vault this coming Thursday - Kiora & Sarkhan are scheduled for that. Look for her either next Thursday, or the Thursday after.

Hey guys and gals. New to the forums here, but I've been skulking around for a while. Figured I'd actually make my first post count.

You mentioned that these new packs will be for all the previously released sets (BfZ, SoI, Origins, and AER.) My question is whether or not you will make all these available all the time, or will you rotate them the way you do now?

I'm one of those whales that isn't afraid to go out and get what I want.. And I would really like to be able to just grab packs of each set as we need cards. I know you've lumped the expansions together with main sets, but maybe try to replicate the way that it's done with paper magic and make them all available individually?

For example, I've been hunting GaH since it came out, and I've started needing some of the cards from BfZ ( like coastal discovery, to the slaughter and scatter to the winds), but instead of buying Aether Revolt with Kaladesh, maybe make Each set available separately?

    Thanks for listening!
We are all very grateful to know we're being heard!

I understand packs from Kaladesh will not disappear after the update. I am unsure if they are completely unchanged or will they also have a chance at a masterpiece card? Again these are the hoarde packs that have been saved. I think it was explained as no, but a firm yes or no would be very informative. Thank you.

That's at least a firm no. The Masterpiece cards will be in the other categories. They said specifically that not just the Kaladesh but any of the packs that are saved will still be there until you claim them and then they will disappear just in the category that you see now. The Masterpiece cards will be in the new category so not obtainable from the current category.

For the people worried about events costing gems, I am reading it as only the Trial of the Planes costing gems. It feels to me like they designed this event to be tough and another way to earn the new mana jewels quicker without straight selling them to players. The mana jewels will still be available from other sources, but this is more of a "lotto" type way to get the jewels quicker and will depend on your skill to advance in the different nodes.

That's just how I am reading it though, I could be wrong.

Good question! I will ask the developers, and get back to you with their response.

Yes, that is correct. It would only be this event that will cost gems, due to the higher number of Mana Jewels players are able to earn.

I just spoke with the developers, and their plan is to have the sets rotating on the same content delivery strategy as before.

Bought 4 premium packs, got only dupes. Yay for "less duplicates" promise!

I'm disappointed that there are no events active. Are those coming later today?

I am of another opinion - many of these announcememts were overtly vague and underwhelming.

A lot of these changes seem to be reworked to increase profits, with promises of fixed solutions. If there is no actual statistical information as to why drop rates are better for players, for all we know, we are less likely to receive duplicates per pack simply because there are fewer cards than before :')

Bought a premium pack eager to be proven wrong!

Dupe Madcap Experiment, Dupe Dubious Challenge, Dupe Cultivator of Blades (Guaranteed Rare), Dupe Aetherwind Basker.

I received no new cards in my premium pack, and I remain very doubtful that there have been significant changes to duplicate rates. We still have no numbers to go on, of course.

I bought a Premium Pack and received a (New) AoI, a (New) Hydra and a (Dupe) Servant.

I have no complaints -- this is a random game --random things happen. One pack isn't a very good sampling.

I am very disappointed with this current update. Since I started this game, it had been free to play, but you could spend money in order to advance faster.

I have enjoyed playing the game, and have spent hundreds of dollars within the game in order to purchase mythics and planeswalkers because I wanted to get better at the game and do better in events.

Now, however - based on the Trial of the Planes events cost to play and the rewards of that and other events, it is not even possible to play every daily event without paying money to buy gems because you cannot earn enough gems each day in order to play every daily event.

I understand that your company probably feels that you are "adding events" and that you don't "have to play in every event." I, however, feel that this significantly changes the dynamic of the game from a "pay to advance" strategy to a "pay to play" strategy. One I do not enjoy.

I want you to know that I will also be posting a similar review on iTunes with the lowest rating until the cost of the Trial of the Planes event has been eliminated.

I love the deck saving feature

I'm really disappointed with this new update. Introducing a new currency, reducing the number of cards available in packs, and increasing the price of guaranteed mythics isn't player friendly, especially for new players. The update would have been easier to stomach if it included any player friendly features. But there is still no new story mode content, no deck slots, no improved planeswalker selection, no use for runes, and no ability to craft specific cards.

I understand the need to introduce new monetization strategies and I've gladly spent money in the past when I felt I got a fair return on my investment. Now I can't justify spending anything.

Third the card packs we have done some balance tweaking to help reduce the amount of duplicates and give the player a higher chance at obtaining rare cards.

We will be monitoring the feedback coming in for anyone that has any questions today. Feel free to comment in the forums, and we will do our best to provide answers.

    Thank you!

Reduced amount of duplicates....yet after opening packs after the update every card were duplicates even the rates.
