So can anyone confirm reset timer? (Someone said earlier it was higher than 12, which would be a first iirc)0

#1 in my bracket now.

I think it's arguable whether or not low level players should be able to compete for top spots. However, being able to do so for less than half of the effort? In no way can I think that be logically argued.0

I agree, but most new people can't compete for alliance rewards usually unless they get invited to a large alliance OR they create their own and fill it with newbie players that can hit the high marks due to easy fights with their lineup.
I am not saying that makes it equal (because it isn't) but it's the current system.0 -
Newbies will grind. Experienced players will rubberband and it all evens out0
-
I cleared a total of 4 missions this morning and ended up in 5th and now sit in the 20's0
-
This event is kicking my **** six ways from Sunday.
I hope to rubber-band my way to getting all the progression rewards but I don't see myself getting Cap covers.
EDIT-
For reference purposes, my lineup is:
Lvl 28 Torch 2/0/1, buffed to level 118
Lvl 85 Wolverine 5/5/3
Lvl 52 Hawkeye 4/1/5
Lvl 50 IM50 5/5/3
Lvl 50 Storm 5/5/3
Lvl 43 Panther 3/1/1
Lvl 18 Psylocke 1/1/00 -
I'm having a hard time with this event (like many here, I assume).
Here's my current roster of playable characters:
Human Torch - 1/1/1, level 20 (buffed to 110)
Astonishing Wolverine - 5/5/3, level 85
Iron Man m35 - 5/5/3, level 50
Modern Storm - 5/5/3, level 50
Black Panther - 3/2/1, level 41 (could raise level to 53)
Psylocke - 3/1/3, level 28 (could raise level to 66)
Modern Hawkeye - 2/2/3, level 6 (could raise level to 37)
I'm currently running with HT, Wolvie and whichever of the remaining 4 characters (not counting Hawkeye) is at decent health. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to pump any ISO into Panther or Psylocke to help me along. (I currently have 82K ISO in the bank.) The problem is my Panther only has 1 black cover and Psylocke's red and black conflict with HT's abilities which are probably better since he's so buffed. Any advice?0 -
Do you guys have Bagman? He's actually very useful in this event against countdown tiles.0

No Bagman.0

That mission absolutely sucks...there is no good way to break up their board control.
This event sucks. I've never said that before, but this event is a steaming pile of garbage on top of a tire fire.0 -
I have a 36 bagman with 5 into snarky remark. Works out well since I have an active yellow to use when Amazing wolvie tanks. But yeah, given my main attack roster is 85 Awolvie 85 modern hawk eye and either ironman 35 or bagman, I dont think I'll get my last cover needed for Lcap, especially with work.
Here's hoping to a yellow Lcap so I. Can get my first 3* completely covered!0 -

Modern Hawkeye has been doing well against that group for me. You have to think about when to use his blue, but it's helped. Also, as much as I love wolverine's 2.8k dmg to a single target, sometimes its better to spread about 1k dmg to multiple targets via hawkeye's red.0 -
I'm using HT (one red cover), A.Wolvie, IM35/MStorm. They seem to work fine but I needed to use quite a lot of boosters to get through the fight before the last one in deadly (Rag, Bull, Daken). I'm a little disappointed in the event that it is a copy of Venom chapter in Prologue. I guess this is the equivalent of the grindy side quests in MMORPGs. I'm also a bit disappointed in progression rewards. They don't seem much this time. I don't think I played lots in last Heroic (Juggs). Was the progression rewards better than this or it is like this in Heroic events usually if anyone remembers?0

These Heroics definitely lean more in the advantage of newer players. The only reason why 1* characters are included are so they can participate in them. By the end of the prologue, you should naturally have a strong IM35, M.Storm and a decent A.Wolv (all of which are practically handed to you with all the standard recruits and copious ISOs to max these low lvl characters), and with a lower PvE rating and slower scaling, the competition is comparatively a breeze.
Long-time players, right off the bat, are penalized with a persistent PvE rating, so if you've played even remotely successfully in previous events, you are given a harsher scaling that forcibly ushers you into having to use stronger characters to compete.-
– First, you need to have the luck of collecting each of the covers for 3* characters, either by competing in previous time-consuming events or randomly through packs.
-
– Then you are gently prodded to invest HP into these characters to gain their abilities quickly to stand a chance against increasingly higher level enemies.
-
– Next, you have to invest thousands more ISOs (either through investing enough time in previous events, purchasing them, or raising 20 ISOs at a time...) to raise a 3* to a decent level. This is also putting a cork in leveling the characters that you DO want to play with on a regular basis for playable characters in these infrequent events.
-
– Lastly, even if you have a decent team that can win the battle, the scaling automatically increases the difficulty to just out of your reach, which implores you continue the
So compared to new players that are given all the tools to be more successful by just playing the Prologue, a long-time player needs to invest considerably more ISO, HP and time to be competitive against both new players and long-time players. And eventually those new players become long-time players.....0 -
As much as I want to let mHawkeye show his usability... here's his record:
Shot 4 arrows in a match, 3 arrows got destroyed: 2 in match-4s, one got stolen by Moonstone (my fault though) and I had to match it away lest I be stunned by my own arrow.
Avoided to death of Panther and crippling of mStorm.
Avoided mStorm and Wolverine (from full health) to death.
I love this guy I swear.0 -

So... In other words D3s got it figured out? That's the nature of the beast.0 -

Hawkeye's avoid is a double edged sword. It's great to to focus the damage to your tank. Make sure you put your tank to Hawkeye's left. Be warned though, if he avoids an ability that is multi target, your tank eats Hawkeye's share of damage. Too bad hulk isn't in this event.0 -
MHawkeye sucks so badly that I have him fully covered and still sitting at level 6. Enough said.0
