One drawback on X-Force -- the X can be centered on an edge.

Either they should center the X on the 16 central tiles, or ....

They should rename the power as ^, v, >, < or x Force

Yeah, that's not cool. The description specifically says it destroys 5/9/15 tiles; you should always get that amount.

This still doesn't look anywhere as good as Patch.

I've had patch maxed for a while, I'd take X-force maxed over patch any day. Patch's green does as much good as harm, either you hold onto it and don't use it so you don't get decimated, and then suffer, or you use it too early and suffer.

I think patch is fine sitting the way he is since he's easily a disadvantage if not handled properly.

I'm at 5/4/4 right now, really want that 5th black. Btw I can't wait to take X-Force into a match with the Don Goon and have enough black from the AP destruction to cast Surgical Strike twice, lol that will be fun.
  • For the yellow ability when matched, when are the 6 tiles destroyed? (eg after/before tile fall) If enemies match it, do they get the cascade chance?

Enemy does not gain the AP from the cascade triggered by this ability.

Yippee! Just from tokens and rewards my guy is already 5/5/3. Time for some levelling.

Mine's sitting at 4/4/5 right now because those are the covers I've gotten. I'm going to move him to 3/5/5 because it'll require the least amount of cover adjustments
  • Those of you playing with X-Force, especially those with a maxed one....any thoughts on the new buffs?
  • He's slightly better than Thor and slightly less dummy proof. Aside from the all-powerful Sentry this easily puts him as #2 most powerful in the game when not considering anything that's hard to measure (like The Hood). It should be noted that similar to Spiderman, X Force hard counters himself in a mirror match because X Force's strongest color is green, which means the side with the first Surgical Strike is almost always going to win since that'll probably immediately combo into 2 X Forces which combos into something else and the human player probably will get Surgical Strike first in a mirror match. So it'd be crucial to have your featured character higher than X Force but that requires a significant investment. If you don't have X Force, you'd need Punisher or Daken who are the only two characters with black as highest power as this prevents Surgical Strike from chaining into anything else. Depending on the team setup you might be able to get away with a character with purple as their strongest color too.

Playing with a level 173. I really like playing with him and he isn't even maxed yet! He has a lot of potential to be a top tier! Am I now in bizzaro world?

    TL;DR:
    1) Yellow is true healing
    2) 5/5/3
    3) Don't be lazy, check the enemy team to optimize black power

5/5/3, max level wolverine x-force here. Took it for a test spin. I don't think I need to try a max yellow build, here's a breakdown of my experience
-Black - 5, but some anticipation is needed. 5 in black means that you're not lazy, and you adjust your team build for every matchup. If their strongest color is red, and your team has no use for red AP, you better bring someone in that can make use of that AP. Alternatively, you could set up your team so that every color has an active ability behind it. Haven't put any thought to this yet.

-Green - 5. Damage and cascades.

-Yellow - 3. TRUE HEALING (the hp you recover stays with you after the match), but I honestly don't believe there is a reason to max this. At max level, he runs 10,960 hp. 3 yellow will heal for 4243. While maxing yellow will bring you from death to full health, and knock out 3 more tiles, the damage is pitiful (less than 1,500 at max level). The other 2 abilities are better at dealing damage and causing cascades. The tile destruction is just a pity gift, for failing to protect your countdown tile. Compared to the other 2, I can settle for half max-hp true healing.

MY NEXT TEST: What happens if the enemy team has two heroes tied for strongest color. Currently facing a GSBW (79 purple) and 3*Thor (79 red). Will post when I find out.

one thing i didn't even notice till i test drove my X-Force is that his black also drains their strongest color of 10 AP, which is big in addition to generating AP, destroying tiles and doing damage for every tile. The way they redid his character is really quite amazing, they thought about his abilities and made sure his powers were actually 4* worthy....i'm gonna say that black has the potential to be the most powerful ability in the entire game if used right.
  • Black should be broken down by color you're facing:

Green: Likely game ending without any need to setup because you'll have a Surgical Strike and probably enough green to do 2 X Forces plus whatever cascades into more moves.

Red: Red is no longer the powerhouse damage skill but a Fireball or Star Spangled Avenger is still plenty powerful.

Yellow: One of the powerhouse colors and no shortage of awesome abilities. Can always use Recovery for sustainability if needed.

Purple: A relatively hard color to find a strong ability. Only Fury is top tier out of strong purple, but Fury + X Force seems like a very slow team. Deadpool has a strong purple, but not exactly durable.

Black: Likely a lost cause because you can't chain into anything else with Surgical Strike. Could do BP + X Force, but this team just doesn't seem like it'd work out that well with all the color overlap.

Blue: Another hard color to fill. Fury is again the only top tier blue user and the same problems apply, and you got even less options for decent secondary blue powers.

If there are 2 colors tied for the highest power on the opposing team, it will only pick one. I need to do more testing on this, but HOPEFULLY, the color black picks is based on the enemy team position (such as taking the first of a tie, or the last). More testing needed.

So if the enemy team has a Hulk, and the enemy team strongest color is black (from some one else), casting surgical strike means one turn without triggering any anger (even surgical strike itself) (unless you cause more cascades later in the turn so black tiles come back). So that's an interesting but limited use of Surgical Strike against strongest color black enemy team lol.

IceIX posted the tiebreaker is the same as usual, middle > left > right so I assume this is valid.

Love my new X force! Green hitting for 3k at 170, black hitting for 7k(typically killing them) and if you get green practically a double kill. Yellows heal is slow but good, the proc effect is less then wondrous. 15 games only got matched(hell even destroyed) once did 900. Surgical strike is my new favorite move, SS on a punisher, killed him gained 4 black(including the 11 to use SS) used it again : )
  • Played with him once and he ended up fully healed. He's going to be everywhere and they'll wait until people spend money on him before nerfing him.
  • Goons do not behave as expected. Test it on the Nick Fury node. Commander is in middle, Spy is on right, and Nick Fury is on left. All are level 190. Nick Fury is down, and used Surgical Strike and got purple, which is not the top skill of the commander (it's yellow). I had the spy targeted when I used Surgical Strike, so not sure if that had any effect, because the Spy's strongest color should be purple. Note that goons are tied for every possible color.
