If his green can overwrite countdown tiles at max rank (I think it can but have no tested) then this would make an almost perfect counter to Sentry's World Rupture. Of course it'd be difficult to have enough green AP in time.

I don't care much about those first 2... but I couldn't care more for the XWolvie, so much potential and just absurdly weak character imho. Seems to me as even at level 180 is easily beatable by almost every other 2* character.

Guys, is there a company to XWolvie, you could think of defensively or offensively, which would make him a useful character until buff comes? I can level him up (I have covers) but I am just not sure whether it is worth investment at this stage.

It's not worth it yet. I've fought some level 200+ xforce and they're laughable. I'll take them on over any maxed 2* even. You know it's bad when some of the "whales" haven't even maxed him out when they've maxed every other character

Well, as I see it we have IW as the defensive 4* and Fury as the specialist 4* so 4* X-Force should be an offensive juggernaut. I'd prefer for him to focus on either two things - successive damage - the way Psylocke was supposed to work - or high burst damage. For instance

    Fury - Red - 8AP
Wolverine goes into a rage opening with a massive strike and continuing his assualt non-stop. Does 300 damage. Does an extra 1000 for every 8 Red AP remaining (does not use that 8)
    Level 2 Reduce AP
    Level 3 Reduce AP
    Level 4 Reduce AP
    Level 5 Reduce AP
Think of it like CMags Red attack...highly spammable, low damage unless red has been saved up.

    Adamantium - Blue - 8AP
Before Striking, Wolverine unsheathes his claws. Places Strike Tile onboard with a value of 150. Places a protect tile with a value of 150.
    Level 2 Reduce AP
    Level 3 Reduce AP
    Level 4 Reduce AP
    Level 5 Reduce AP
Designed to amplify his ability to kill/attack non-stop, while keeping him alive. Works in conjunction with Red attack for massive damage strings.

    Regeneration - Yellow - 7AP
Focusing on his mutant abilties, Wolverine continually heals himself. Places a 1-turn countdown tile that heals every turn, but cost a yellow each turn.
    Level 2 Increase healed amount
    Level 3 Increase healed amount
Level 4 Place 2 CD Tiles
Level 5 Place 4 CD Tiles, perform instant heal of base value, increase AP required by 2.
Think Flame Jet in reverse...instead of damage it heals wolverine. His need to feed Fury and Adamantium would prevent him from becoming an unkillable tank with this ability, but he could LITTER the board with heals, protects, and strikes, while single handedly killing the other team.

I always facepalm when I see people putting up an x-force over their maxed 2*s, or even partially leveled 3*s

I would fight a maxed X-Force (some 10k health?) over Hood (5k health) any time of the day...

I legitimately feel bad for people when I see them using X-Farce in PvP and then I check their roster only to find he's where they've dumped all of their Iso. Cue Admiral Ackbar, "It's a trap!" Then I stop feeling bad and pound them into goo because X-Farce is terrible at any level.

bottom line - there's no combination which would make him useful, making him just a collectible... thanks.

It would need to a buff for the ages for him to actually be a good option.

I just hope they do these nerfs/buffs soon (they should do all these changes before september).

Specially mags and xwolvie, I don't know why hawckeye is first, nobody cares about him.

I'd be glad to see a (successfull) buff for 2* Hawkeye as I'm convinced he has some potential.
Sadly, now that I begins to have an honest 3* roster, chances that I pick Hawkeye for fights are low icon_e_sad.gif

me neither, what I do know though is that his drop rates from heroic packs are similarly high as mStorm, at least in my case. I assume they took the approach to buff/nerf those mostly owned/used characters as priority and then proceed with others...

    Me too.

I've been using him in my tanking rotation and even with random placement he's been doing amazingly well. A four turn stun is nothing to sneeze at.

I remember using him, buffed for a pve (the hunt I believe?), when I was still transitioning from 1* to 2**. I was amazed by his red and blue arrows and was sure to have found the most powerful character of the game icon_e_biggrin.gif

I auto-attack teams having hawkeye in rooster even if complemented by some tank (like hulk or so). It is very rare that the 'red' or 'blue' arrow countdown actually triggers the ability. Board shake-up does the trick... It may be solid character for offense especially if the buff removes the random, but on defense I am not sure if it will change anything...

I like the Yellow but the other two will never happen. Abilities that reduce AP are a no-no now.
  • No they don't reduce AP, they reduce the AP COST so at 5 covers one match lets you fire it off.

That's what he meant before. The devs have indicated that they won't really be making moves where cover levels simply reduce the cost anymore. Basically I wouldn't expect moves below an AP cost of 5-6 going forward because those tend to be the most OP and gamebreaking.

So I pulled my 5th yellow from a hulk token.

The jump from 4 to 5 is brutal and miserable.

But of course, I would never play XForce unless he was significantly balanced..,

With that in mind, do I use the 5th yellow hoping that it is awesome after he is balanced? Or do I cash in for 1000 ISO?
