I'm 100% sure my Prof X got killed while invisible, in round 6, by Phoenix.

EDIT: And I'm fairly certain Old Man Logan damaged/killed more than one character in the previous round,

Same with my professor. The invisibility tile was still clearly on the board. When GG somehow stunned him then match damaged him to death.

    Has happened twice this event

IIRC, stunning an invisible character usually works if the power targets a random enemy (I think I've done it at least once with Spider-Gwen). I don't remember if it works for stuns that target the entire enemy team.

This is how Prof X can die.

Funny, I had two rounds where Prof X was the only one left but had no offensive tiles left to buff. Only a protect tile. It eventually got buffed that even her AOE wouldn't hurt him. Eventually won one of those using match 5's, and lost the other.

I just beat round 6 twice with Kamala (green at 3) Mohawk Storm and 4Cyke. The second time I ran it, Phoenix and 4Cyke didn't even get a turn. The first time I tried it I nearly won, but made the mistake of thinking "Oh, I've healed fully, I should take some match damage before I fire these powers." Don't do that. Get the lighting rolling, use Cyke yellow to make green and Mohawk yellow to boost Cyke's red. It just goes on forever. Downside is it is a SLOW battle. But a slow battle I win is fine by me.

TL;DR- KK, 3Storm, 4Cyke. AP and healing forever.

    Hope it works for you!

Interesting. Will give it a shot.

    Another non-5* team:

    Cho/kp/Peggy (or xfdp or im40)

Run both Cho and kp at 5/5/3.

    Collect ap prioritizing black/blue/green/purple.

Cho provides a persist CD for kp to pop. This does 11k damage for me. If the CD is at 1 just let it expire, the green ap and cascaded it can possibly generate are good as well as damage.

Only use Cho green if your blue ap threshold is met. This does 19k damage for me.

As for kp yellow and purple, spam yellow as often as you can. The CDs work with his black and extra damage and strikes are great. For purple try and end each round with a skill and have enough purple ap for a cast. The ap drain + Peggy passive usually mean this prevents the new boss from using a high damage ability.

Peggy is there just for her passive, though red can be useful against cap and blue can be good for any goons that want to prevent boss damage. Try not to use blue until after a Cho green usage.

Im40 could speed up Cho green extra damage condition but I feel giving up Peggy passive isn't worth it.

Xfdp will probably trigger his passive at rd6 and higher. He could be useful though again I think Peggy is probably better.

Hope someone gets good use from this team.

Updating this, Just went 3/6 on clears in rd6. Note that I have 4* scaling so my boss rush in this round are levels 411-419.

I swapped out Peggy for Xfdp as my Peggy is not yet champed and she ws getting obliterated pretty fast. As expected any match 4 and xfdp passive triggers for 3k a pop. This adds up in a hurry. Cho/kp/xfdp is health pack intensive (I think anyone not using health packs after an attempt needs to share the secret) but it's getting the job done.

I don't see myself playing past the Peggy red, though, as rd6 is stupid enough and I assume rd7 will be even worse. Ill report back with how this team does when I hit rd7 (should be my second attempt of the next refresh).

Which round? Most people have found that team only works up until about Round 5/6.

    HOLY ****, IT WORKS!!

Boss wave got exactly ONE move. The rest was a longish, but successful slog to victory. Nice! Possible I got lucky, but going to try again

There's a 5-star winfinite that is MUCH less reliable than GSBW/PX/SW: OML, QS, PX.

I've been having good results in round 5 versus 426-433 bosses with it. I've already got champed peggy, so it's more an exercise in "can I" than "need to".

this does not work in round 7

For rd7 this team still works. Xfdp passive still only triggers on match 4 or better. Bosses scaled to level 426 now.

I could continue this slog but it's just not fun.

round 5 currently. it only works if you get widow's purp off before anyone is downed.

I've just managed to clear round 4 twice now with Hulkfinite

    (Which I found here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=53235)

As someone with only really 3*s to lean on, this has been a godsend, so I thought I might share it here.

I've managed to win once in round 6 (my scaling is level ~500 now) using Logan/Phoenix/Cho. Gonna keep trying with those three as Cho is actually handy for his blue and green; the passive damage from blue racks up nicely with strikes out and green is quite good for both the board destruction and the damage with that blue kicker going.

So far I've been finding that Logan is actually a pushover since he doesn't get to start with 30 of all his colors like in round 5. (Stupid round 5.) Surfer isn't really that bad, either. He'll hurt you, but he doesn't melt your face.

Phoenix is the butcher here, and my lone victory came in being lucky enough to deny red and have my not-yet-dead Phoenix get in front of the inevitable 20-red-murder power. Once enemy Phoenix blew her load, that was enough breathing room to pound her down with Logan and Cho before my own Phoenix got up again.

Just made it to round 7 and Banner/Hulk is the first boss. I don't know if I just had a bad board but he made match 5's and cascades like a madman and the match damage was already bad enough so match 5's were doing ridiculous damage. I got wrecked.

Ditto. Desperately need RHulk or RHulk TU's to slow him down

Edit: After three futile attempts with Surfer-Switch-Fist, I switched to OML-RHulk-XDP. XDP died almost immediately to Banner, but constantly draining green bought me enough time to get through him.

It's Surfer-Galactus behind it. Transformed OML during Galactus and then unloaded all the yellow/red, downed him in one turn.

Dunno if it's sustainable, but keeping Banner from transforming I think is the only way to get through it. He does so much damage match/cascading from it.

Nope, it was luck. Next 2 attempts were complete failures with OML killing one of my team immediately.

Luck is still very much the foundation of Boss events. Lazy.

kK Mohawk and hulk is working for me but takes 20mins each boss hit. Switching hulk for cyclops half the time down to 10 mins but the team takes more damage. You end up needing 3 health packs instead of the 1 to heal hulk. One time my hulk was downed by the second boss and I still end up winning that fight. The other benefit of the long battle with hulk is you end up health pack neutral. Cost one but in the time it takes to down the 3 bosses (with minimal tile destruction damage) you generate another. Optimal clear is out the window but at least I'm progressing through the rounds.

I used X-Force, Iron Fist and 4clops through the first 5 rounds (up to bosses level 350+). Most of their powers shake or alter the board and being a rainbow team where no match is useless usually allowed me to chain powers until the bosses were dead. In round 6 I had to cheap my way through with faux-finite (winfnite replacing switch with Phoenix so she tanks all damage while collecting purple.) Note that once you get enough purple, if Phoenix is not dead, you have to wait until she dies, since her strongest colour is green, not purple. Sadly the only 5* with purple as strongest colour is Black Widow herself.
