I play to max progression in PVE, and I quit Boss Rush entirely before reaching round 3.

There just weren't enough kitties in the tiny garden for me to give with continuing that slog.

I'm going to look at this in comparison to the rewards from normal PVE placement. Normally, 1% of players could get top 10 and a Legendary cover. I'm guessing more than 10% got a cover this Boss event. Frustrating play, but more getting a cover is a positive.

71% of responders in round completion thread got past 6 or better. Sure, not the entire community comes here, but promising numbers. I don't endorse Boss Rush at the difficulty it was set at, but rewards were still good I think.

I think it makes more sense to compare to other boss events like Galactus, Ultron and Civil War. Anecdotally, I normally get two covers from one of those, and I got 0 from Boss Rush. Now, I got zero because I quit once I realized it wasn't going to be at all fun, so obviously ymmv.

Edit: Actually, I generally get three: round 7 plus 1 from progression.
Compared to Civil War? Yeah. Waaaaaay less prizes. Our alliance went 7 and 7 to get 6 Legendary covers for each member. Just saying, if even 10% of total players even use the forum, that indicates 7% give-or-take, getting a cover rather than 1% from placement. Comparing difficulty of Boss Rush to Civil War, I'd like more prizes, but comparing difficulty of Boss Rush to difficulty of top 10 out of 1000, I got 2 covers instead of a most likely zero. I'm relatively happy. And looking forward to a rebalance to down the scaling, if you please.

Anyone seen any official response to Boss Rush anywhere?

I think a thread lock is more likely to happen.

    Probably. From the Forum Rules:

    12. No spamming. This includes posting off-topic content, advertisements, low-content posts like lone emoticons, or any other posts that do not actually contribute information to the topic at hand (such as *bump* posts).

So, if this thread is to be kept alive, we should always ensure that we contribute relevant information. Kind of like this post.

I'm wondering if Peggy yellowflag.png in combined arms is a coincidence. It's going to be an ugly event (although not as bad as BoP) but I for one, gotta claw my way to 900. I still need one more yellow since that was Round 8 in Boss Rush. (I made it about 1/3 of the way through 7.)

900 is achievable, and without 5*s everyone should have a chance at mauling each other for points.

While there will be better teams not everyone has access to, everyone with a viable team should be able to knock the snot out of each other and drag up.

They've calmed down since last year, though. Anniversary II saw me get a week's vacation from the forum for hurting a red name's feelings. (In truth, I said something pretty rude. Still think a week was an overreaction from a new mod, though.)

Except that forum users are not randomised from the games population.

Edit: Hm, that doesn't sound like correct english... Maybe there should be a '..?

I like that thread. And my information contributing to the topic at hand is that an anagram of Boss Rush is "So, Shrubs". Obviously foreshadowing something or other.

So are we assuming that they have no intention on addressing the boss rush event issues or are we all just supposed to forget it now that we have a change to Star Lord and a 4* Blade?

I would say it is a fifty fifty chance. The big thing for me is that the longer they avoid addressing the issue the longer it has to fester.

The players get more angry and frustrated at the lack of feedback, and the few red names that still post here get nervous about the flames that will follow any response they make to these sort of topics.

What's to comment on? A huge swath of players played it, every single 8 hour refresh. Heck, a lot of people even finished the thing. They don't give one single solitary kitty how much everyone hated it. Their numbers and metrics show that the event was a huge success. The only way we could have made the event a failure that prompted a response and/or action on the dev's part would have been to jump ship and not touch the event when it stopped being enjoyable (round 4 for me). Since that didn't and will never happen, Boss Rush v2.0 is a go!

They should probably address this. Their consistent player aggravation rate is something they need to worry about for their careers.

They have a very low success rate on wheeling out new concepts, have what can be considered very predatory practices for a free-to-play platform, and are now winding up their player base before ignoring them.

How will that look at future job interviews, if they run into someone who knows this?

What about bidding on future franchises in the near future?

Get ready for the following phrase or similar on your rejections: "We are sorry, but your design philosophy doesn't quite gel with what we are going for."

Where are the numbers and metrics you speak of? I personally haven't seen so many people give up on an event before. I'm not trying to be flip, I'd actually like to see data from the event; especially how many people played throughout the event compared to other pve and boss events. However, it seems despite 40 pages of discussion we get silence.

D3 owns the numbers, but there's a poll on this board showing several people in this small part of the community finished the event. There's another poll indicating that most of them didn't enjoy it. Whether D3 uses that feedback is up to them, but our own community numbers indicate the event was successful.

(I quit after finishing round 4, and had to use what I would consider an exploit (Hulkfinite) to get there).

That people finished it is not going to be held up as proof that the event was a success. They will compare participation, playtime, etc. to previous boss events to gauge how it was received.
