I did most of the easy sub starting with essential fights, but got wiped on the one with oBW (level 230 oBW's Espionage hurts like tinykitty) and did not advance further. Not much sense in doing those last missions anyway, they are level 230, same as Hard, but give only half as many points, just some OCDness.
Similarly only did essential fights in the hard sub so far. I've lost all faith in the event tokens and they will turn to Heroics anyway, so my goal is to stay in main top 75 and maybe try for top 50. Do I have a shot at top 50 - top 75 while only doing the essentials 3-4 times more and maybe some other missions in Hard?
My bracket is uber-competitive and pushing the multipliers like crazy (my #68 score would be enough to be #1 in some other brackets lol), which is good if I intend to rubberband, non?
You can pretty much get to like top 10 by just grinding down the essentials in almost every bracket I've seen. You only need the other missions if you're trying to make the push past top 10 to #1/#2, and given the other missions in this round seem to be very hard in general, it's not even clear doing those mission is beneficial since the risk of a wipeout is too great.0 -

Simulation 4, is a total trap.
Can't go around Onslaughting Modern Storm or Daken to quickly remove them from the board, or Devil Dino will turn right back around and Prehistoric Bite one of your roster to death on the very next move... Modern Thor is almost just as bad as Thunder Strike tends to leave lots of loose green around for DD to pick up as well.0 -

Alright, Hard mode is officially named "one bad starting board and you're done."
Running lazy Thor / CMags / Hood (80 / 141 / 97) where I'm allowed and substituting 93 Psyduck for Mags where I have to.
Psyduck works surprisingly well even unbuffed, but there's almost no margin for error.
Done with hard (25k), and debating to run through normal once and then not playing until the last two hours.
Should be enough for top 10, hopefully.0 -
Ok, once he's scaled and boosted to level 258, Daredevil actually becomes a problem.0

I mean top 10 of your sub bracket. I don't know what your score was prior to the R4 started (since once is starts the numbers fluctuate a lot). In the worst case you can assume you'll fall by 1-2K after getting a top 10 sub bracket finish, since the main bracket is 5 times bigger so top 10 is a sub bracket is equivalent of top 50 and I don't know where that puts you in the overall standings. What you could do is do all the essential missions sometime today and note what your place is in the overall bracket. If you're only #75 after you done all your missions, then you don't really have a shot at holding that position unless you start playing way more since there's obviously a lot of people who haven't done their missions yet. If you're in top 50 overall, at least you have a shot for holding #75.0 -

I used Daken for the Daredevil fight. It's nice to troll the AI back the same way they trolled us with Heroic Oscorp.0

Tight brackets for me. At 158k in main, not sure how I can ramp up to 250k but we'll see.
Current standings for me in both brackets...
1 in hard at 27,089
2 in normal at 18,551.
Probably only 200 point difference between up/down position.0 -
Your in the same main as me locked. I am sitting around 38 at the moment but I am just waiting for my next refresh to burst back into that top 10. I went bed last night and woke up at 49 played 4 nodes and was 9th. Catch up has been easy in the main bracket0

I'm sure this has been mentioned in the previous 37 pages but it's a big ridiculous that you don't stand a chance of doing well in this event without the rotating buffed characters. I'm lucky enough to have all of them so I'm certainly not complaining but if I didn't I would be mad as Hell.
For this entire event I've done nothing but grind the Essential nodes down to 1 a couple times a day in both regular and hard modes. The only normal nodes I've touched are the yellow path leading to the ISO pile on normal difficulty. Doing this minimal work I somehow managed to hit #1 in my overall bracket for a brief period this morning and when it's all said and done I'll easily clear the top 10. I realize that there's a progression to the game but this seems overkill--I don't see how it's possible to get a lazy Cap without at least 2 of the rotating buffs.0 -
Can anyone tell me, with a straight face, if you used modern hawkeye in any fight?
Thats quite a handicap, no matter how buffed he is.0 -
I decided to level The Hood (2-4-1) up to 61 and wow did he come in handy for Simulation 3...the constant AP steal is incredibly useful. Having Lazy Thor with 5 green covers and at level 75 is also useful. I need em both though since I've been relying on Spidey, so most fights are 230's.0

I've looked at him in a mildly considering manner...and then I went with someone else. Mine is fully covered at 5/5/3, but only level 30 (before the current event buffing). I have a mid-level Hood, so if I had ridiculous amounts of extra ISO, I might toy with that combination, but that's not the case here.
On a side note, bah, another earthquake.0 -

We should do a challenge-like minigame. Go win a node with him and post the evidence.
I still havent been able to make the opponent spring a trap. I dont know how does it looks like. Maybe the animation is different? mayby confeti comes bursting through the led screen in celebration? who knows, they"ll never spring a trap set by my DD. Entropy will come first.0 -

I used him in a few fights earlier against Hulk and some other opponents where I really needed the stun and didn't have a better option. Only a 3 blue Spidey and CStorm too squishy against level 150+ opponents.0 -
M. Hawkeye was awesome when his crit multiplier was buffed back in December. I pushed mine up to level 45 back then. Haven't spent any ISO on him since. And I think I've only used him when required to.
His purple is a liability. Not only is his damage CD tiles that are easily cleared, he forces one of your useful characters to take damage for him. I'd prefer M. Hawkeye jump in front and take damage for everyone else. At least then he'd serve a purpose.0
