Well, My only hope now is to get a cover or two from the FOUR recruit tokens in the mail.

That's right. I Top 2-ed my Hard Mode bracket. Easy was Top 25. Four pulls to keep my hope of a 200k red DD cover alive and a finished OBW(fell behind too much in Doom's round for a realistic Cap cover chance).

...Crud. Time to appease the RNG again.

Oh well. At least I don't have to sully my roster with those 3 Hood covers I was holding.
    SELL. SELL. SELL.
Are you saying it gives a lazy thor, or that it has a lazy thor, because with the later, I need to go and do it posthaste before the community scaling kicks in

Got 2 blue psyducks and a red Ares from 3 tokens. Not bad.

All week I've been looking forward to his turn being powered up. Good luck with your token pulls!

1st is 167k as he started the new subs and earned about 3k. I am 2nd at 164k. Ad for tokens, with my 4 pulls I got a yellow lazy thor..whohoo. now I can finish him and since I pulled a red and a green after cashing in 120 regular tokens and 21 heroics.
  • 1st in both subs (which is a 1st for me) and 1st overall with 167,149.

6 tokens: 3 Hawkeyes, 1 Bullseye, 1 Wolverine, 1 Ares. All useless to me. icon_rolleyes.gif
  • I got lucky and pulled a yellow lazy Thor.... Great timing!

Anybody have any tips for round 4? What are some good team to use against these jacked up monsters?

Depends on your lazy thor situation.

Hood, GSBW, LT could be brutally quick. Or use OBW for complete denial of service while face mashing.

It will be hard to throw patch or the like in front of the LT behemoth as a self healing tank, but Daken could be a goer. He's the only strike tile generator who doesn't get in Fat Thor's way.

Psylocke could be an option. Her red can compare in damage to Fat Tony, depending on how many covers you have, and her blue and black abilities aren't too bad. Her, the hood and LT give you some options, strike tiles and attack tiles. I'm loathe to use patch or punisher because Thor's all about the green. He loves his Benjamins.

Thanks for the advice sir... My LT is Lvl 77 2/3/3... Thinking about purchasing one more cover? But I swore of spending money until the fun balancing happens and lazy characters stop

I used nearly all my banked 160k iso on fat thor. Buffed in simulator call of storn does 6222 and 3100ish damage. Too bad my hulk isn't high enough to tank shots for thor but thor, Mags, and rotating 3rd will be my main team.

162936, first is at 165414, how are other brackets looking?

That's one hell of a cannon. Can't seem to get enough C Mags covers for him to get in the rotation. I have a more complete X Force than Mags.

Yeah, that red cover is kind of a kitty, at least you don't need 5 top 2 finishes, like hood's yellow
  • I really want that 8k iso. icon_cry.gif They got to jack up the points quick!

The current hard batch is pretty brutal at high level. That doom/panther/soldier fight is pretty much game over if they get too many black gems. And got my butt handed to me by that spidey/psylocke/controller fight as well.

It doesn't help that my lazy Thor has relatively few covers (1/2/3), so except for his hefty amount of HP he's pretty much dead weight because his powers don't do much damage.

Good news - they did. I just finished Hard Mode at 14,000 points. I do not have the time or patience to jump into Easy Mode, but the required character nodes are at 2500 for me in there. Plan on a big finish, I guess.
  • OK, this is it. The greediness of the devs finally done it for me. ***k this game.

After 3 months, I finally see an event with an OBW in it to win (there might have been some LRs where she was available, I didn't play in all those). So my goals were not even exceptionally high. Finally I could move her from lvl 69, where she is sitting since months.

Yet, the event is geared for the high end players, again. There are 2 modes, Normal and Hard.

But to win, you have to compete in both of them, and the majority of the points are coming from the Hard mode. And even bigger slap to the face are the Essential fights, which are all much easier than the others and worth more points. Basically more than 2/3 of the points are coming from the Hard mode + Essential fights, making the game highly favor the highend players and spitting in the face of the midlevel ones.

So basically those who had good enough lineups to score those characters are having a field day tackling those easy, point heavy fights, while those who don't have the essential characters are forced to fight all the hard battles multiple times if they want to finish at cover position. I don't have the time nor the enthusiasm to do that, so I'm essentially locked out from cover positions.

I was patient in my transition, I was waiting for the proper covers for months, I was collecting Iso (I'm sitting on 140K now), slowly leveling some other *** characters when I had the chance. But the heart of the matter is that after 3 months, none of my main force characters got any levels. Now, that I could get 1 single cover, I have to face unfair odds.

The final kick in the groin is the Lazy Thor character being the essential one, with lvl 25-30 enemies and 2500-4500 points each. So those matches worth 4 times more than the non-essential ones.

This game design is extremely flawed. You can't buy specific covers, and the events are geared for the ones who already have good lineups.

Actually they aren't. It's about a 50/50 split. Hard mode missions are worth twice as much but easy mode's rubberbanding is super effective.

So it works out about the same.
  • 4 at present with 179723, haven't been able to do my refreshes properly but it has left me in a decent position to get top 10 if I can bring it all together in round 4
  • Hard mode nodes are worth exactly double the points of the corresponding easy mode nodes. However, in my experience, the easy mode nodes get more community attention, so the top score in an easy bracket is a fair bit more than half the top score in a hard mode bracket. I've seen cases where the easy mode top score was *more* than the hard mode top score.

The "essential character" nodes are worth roughly 50% more than the end nodes of the two main tracks. They tend to have lower average levels near the end of the subs because community scaling inflates the levels of the main tracks more, as not everyone has the required characters for the standalone nodes. Having the required characters is a significant advantage, though somewhat less so in the Simulator event overall, since each set of subs had a different required character (Psylocke, Doctor Doom, Black Panther, 3* Thor). Even without the required characters, it shouldn't be too difficult to get into the OBW reward tiers with a bit of attention to timing and such.

(For the record, my OBW is level 61, 3/4/3. I wish very much that OBW rewards would come out more often because I use her a lot, even though she's partially built. I only have two 3*s that are marginally useful unbuffed, so my main roster is pretty solidly 2*.)

5th at 160746, probably should have ground out a little bit more instead of leaving points on the table to avoid scaling.

Top of my braket is colognoisseu at 169644

yeah... a retribution member .... lucky i'm not in his bracket... would have kinda of sux to compete with 2 retribution members....(u know.. a 1,2 finish) ...I join Retribution coz of his roster... very very nice indeed...

and down 30k to the leader who is at ~162800... 2nd sub was completely unplayable for me with too high levels to be able to do anything with my roster so I lost some lazy cap covers there... not like I even want that guy... just need one to unlock essential nodes in next event...

Did you ever find yourself an alliance?
Got into Retribution - kinda like it... not the "top 2-3" kind of alliance but definitely up there in "top 10-15" which suits me just fine

Ok... nice to meet you.. i'm in Retribution myself...
