Simulator Basics part 2: Electric Boogaloo (Mar 21-30)

This will be the most difficult sub for me. In the first three I had 96 Psylocke, 541 Doom or 79 Black Panther. This time I have a 30 2/1/1 Lazy Thor whose only role was to be a punching bag, but he can't do even that since Ares covers all colors. I hate him. And this isn't the only bad news this time. The levels started in the 120-140 range which means they will definitely reach 230. I hope I will at least keep top 50 in main.0

The way i am looking at FaThor is because i only have 1 colour each of him, he just sits there scoffing cakes and pies, which is fine by me as he usually gets to the end without losing any health. All because Ares takes his colours, but that saves me wasting precious health packs on him most of the time as he hides in the back, too lazy to move.0

I don't know why this surprises me each and every time, but I keep forgetting that everything except the last round of subs is completely irrelevant because there's a gazillion points more on the board at the end.
Finished round 3 at 169k (2 in my main), and 7 hours later the leader in the main has 188k and I'm looking at missions which are worth 5.268 points in the hard sub and 3.000 in the normal sub.
Yes, of course I'm still going to finish in the top 2 in the main, but I had actually planned to take it easy for the last round.
Thanks to the devs (as always) completely marginalizing any lead you managed to open up during the first three quarters of an even that lasts 10 days, I still need to put in the time to keep up.
Yes, I understand, people need to have at least the impression that they can still catch up, but does it really need to be _this_ extremely biased against players who play these events from the start?
I really might try entering on the last day next time, ISO be damned - just to see what happens.
Well, I'm a little cranky because in all my tokens (16, I think?) I managed to pull a grand total of 1 (one) lazy Thor0 -

Haha, Amen brother!
At the end of Round 3 I had about an 8k lead on 3rd. I thought I might be able to actually skip a refresh. Ugh!
I had some good luck with token pulls though: Psylock black and blue, Hulk red, LazyThor green and IW green. I'm still gunning for top 2, but if I don't make it it'll still have been a pretty successful event.0 -

I'm rotating, mainly cos I'm going through health packs like they are cookies.
Using M Storm on levels where the environment tiles are useful, using OBW regularly to steal AP where possible (though no one tanks purple for her, and at these levels she's not lasting long). Using Hulk where I need to tank tank tank, he's a good green-feeder to Ares. Using various level 85s for **** and giggles when all my 'main' roster are downed and I'm waiting on health packs to regenerate.
Basically, if I had kitchen-sink man I'd throw him at this too, and would still not be able to defeat Hitman / Rags / Baglady....0 -
This round will end up being really tough. My levels have already scaled much higher than before. It seems even the LazyThor missions will end up being 230 soon enough. Devil Dino was already up to 210 6 hours after the start.0
-
I had to miss the last round. Only 50k behind the leader after doing a run through the two new subs now , though, so maybe I'll be able to catch up.
On a side note, Daredevil landed two crotch kicks against me today and took out two team members in a single match three. Never seen that happen before.0 -

I mainly have used FaThor, Ares and i change my 3rd guy depending on health and who i need to use. Its usually OBW, Wolvie, Punisher C.Storm or Daken0 -
I'm just really sick of the endless grind for minimal rewards.
I've finished top 15-40 in the last 3 simulator rounds and yet my overall rank is 74??????? Not that I care about these moronic "gold" cash cows for D3, but at least try to make it fair. 10 days of this garbage is sickening. Grind grind grind for 20 ISO and the "chance" to win lazy, Uninspired ****.0 -
I must be in the minority here. After finally figuring out i dont have to grind all the time and just to do the higher rated nodes and whatever other mission i feel like doing, i have actually enjoyed this event more than other recent ones. The scaling was hit and miss but overall, better than before. I usually got tired of these 10 day events by day 6, but here we are with just 2 days left and i havent torn out my hair yet. Been in the top 25 all event, and i am more than happy with that. No need to push myself and get angry for those covers when that will do0

I agree. I wasn't a fan of rubberbanding at first, but now I love it. I can play only 4-5 hours in each set of subs and place in top 5-10. I now remember how I was doing in the event that introduced Daredevil and I . I didn't want to miss even one rotation and I think those were the busiest days of my life. By the end of the event I had an expression on my face and I had to take a break for some days. In the next event I decided to try a 1 rotation strategy and I was . This is great I thought. Now I know I all the secrets of the game. I am officially a MPQ . I agree though that the enemy scaling is hit or miss. Mostly hit (for me) but when it misses it hurts. It hurts a lot.0 -

It's the same for me. I think it's just the cranky people post more often so it drowns out all the people who are doing fine and enjoying the event.0 -
Idk, it was nice to be able to jump on and snap up 5K+ nodes and jump pretty high in my bracket. Saves time I might need...for diablo 3.0
-
I'm done with the "normal" missions (sim 01-04),but the points for lazythor missions are not getting lower!
What am I missing?0 -
My Easy nodes have formally caught up to my Hard nodes. Level 230s all around. I (got) stopped at 197,000.
I do not think that I will be winning first in any subs this last round. Main bracket is the thing now.0 -
For the last 3 sub's my team was Spidey/whoever was buffed and could tank Blue for Spidey/And Patch or Punisher. But Fat Thor just sucks if you only have one cover. I've been using Spidey/IM40/Fat Thor. I'm still leaving most missions unscathed, but it takes forever without strike tiles. I may have to reassess.0
-
The Simulator node with C.Mags, GSBW and C.Storm is EVIL. It locks out ALL of my 85 2* Heroes.
I'm left with Psylocke at 89, the Hood bosted to 98 and Lazy Thor bosted to 131.
Started levelling Ares but he's only boosted to 80 now. This battle will be rough.
Threw in Loki to have a use for Purple AP.
EDIT: Thank god AI uses GSBW's pink instead of Magnetic Tranlsocation.0 -
The tokens for this round have been pretty kind to me: several Astonishing Wolverine covers, with which I have had AWFUL luck.
Of course, they've been even kinder to my friend, who has pulled 2 4* Wolverine covers from the four tokens he's used...
but this is also the same friend who claims to have gotten Modern Hawkeye from accidentally tapping the "Recruit Guaranteed Hawkeye" button. <-- Can anyone corroborate this?0 -
I have a question. I manage to stay top 75 in main so far. I did most of the easy sub starting with essential fights, but got wiped on the one with oBW (level 230 oBW's Espionage hurts like tinykitty) and did not advance further. Not much sense in doing those last missions anyway, they are level 230, same as Hard, but give only half as many points, just some OCDness.
Similarly only did essential fights in the hard sub so far. I've lost all faith in the event tokens and they will turn to Heroics anyway, so my goal is to stay in main top 75 and maybe try for top 50. Do I have a shot at top 50 - top 75 while only doing the essentials 3-4 times more and maybe some other missions in Hard?
My bracket is uber-competitive and pushing the multipliers like crazy (my #68 score would be enough to be #1 in some other brackets lol), which is good if I intend to rubberband, non?0
