So, I'm only doing Sims 08, 09 and 10 by this moment after initial clears, still only top 118 in the main (have to do hard sub 08 – 10 before the end of the current refresh and then 1 more time for both easy & hard in the final refresh, then try to rubberband Round 4), do I have any shot at top 75 with this tactic? My lazyThor is useless although we'll see what he can do with 100 levels worth of buff. Lol. Not fretting too much over Cap, but I'm doing worse and worse in each PvE despite having a better roster each time.

edit: doing Hard Sim 08. I dunno why but I left Criterion for the last, hoping for easy healing and victory lap. Matched a couple of CD tiles easily. AGD not ready yet though.
Do ho ho! Enter unmatchable deadly Detonate at the very bottom of the board.

I almost retreated, I swear. But then I re-read the ability's description and let my heroes explode in blazing glory.

3 healthpacks gone if I want to do Sim 09 and 10 right now, but at least I didn't lose my time for nothing by retreating icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Is Lazy Thor boosted for the last sub? Please say he is, I've got mine at level 100 and if he's boosted he should destroy virtually everything in his path.

Yep, he is boosted by ~100 levels. Lucky you icon_e_biggrin.gif We poor shmucks will go the MMN + Spidey route and utilize every other dirty trick at our disposal.

Edit: Wow, after doing my second to last clear of Sims 08 – 10 and them only I climbed to #1 in my Hard sub, number #9 in Easy, and #79 in main. Top 75 in main seems achievable now, although one has to forego green checkmarks.
  • I must have landed in an easy main because I am currently #16 and I have barely played the last subs (#72 in Easy and #86 in Hard). If this continues I could skip the last subs and still make top 50 for the 2 Cap covers. However, I assume the last subs will give more points if the 300k progression reward is meant to be achievable. Currently the #1 in my main has 147k so unless something changes drastically in the last 2 subs, there is no way to get to 300k. That, or my main is just lazy. icon_e_biggrin.gif

I'd say my main should be pretty competitive, I started the Sim almost immediately when it launched. Our leader? 150k. That 300k reward seems unachievable, and what is much worse, the 250k reward seems unachievable either.

Edit: rejoice everyone fearing that newbies overtake veterans in PvE, in my main out of top 10 only 3 people have level 85s as their maxed heroes, everyone else sports 2-5 maxed level 141s or a ton of level 100+s.
2 S.H.I.E.L.D members and one DeadlyVenom in top 10, yeah I definitely got myself a non-slacker bracket lol.

I im 2nd and 148k, maybe next subs will be worth a lot more.

Hopefully, because we already have to forego tons of ISO rewards due to trying to play optimally, so that 8,000 ISO reward dangling there like a carrot in front of, you know...

Well, that scalated quickly icon_e_wink.gif ... 4 or 5 nodes are in the 230s... freaking hood is 243 in the MBW/flamer node and im holding my ground with a lvl 59 Ares/ lvl 41 Spidey throwing the ocasional widow when my lvl 32 BP isnt requiered.

I come here often to cry about this kind of things but i'll come around icon_razz.gif

  • Yeah, the 250k looks out of reach ATM. IIRC I had 58k in R1 102 in R2, expect like 160k in R3 what predicts finish on 220k. What is waaay too short.
The last round must be much easier (not likely due to accumulated scaling) to provide more points. I expect base points go to 100, double of R1 tops. But it still doesn't look enough to cover enough points.

Unless the devs drop in adjustment to scaling as happened many times in past.
  • It's difficult to care about the Daredevil progression rewards. Because, it's Dardevil. Although it was quite gratifying to watch my opponent in Simulator where he was required match 3 reds where 2 were traps and murer 2/3 of his team.
  • I am going to get nowhere near close to 250K let along 300. I switched to minimum number of missions and have done under 20 in the normal set and only 13 in the hard mode and there just one refresh left. Some nodes are still going to reach 3x230 in the hard mode however. I will only do a similar number in the final round of subs also scaling is just too damn painful to do any more.

Yeah, scaling is kicking in a little, despite only doing two instead of three runs through the BP nodes this time.
Sim 8 in the hard sub is sitting at 219 / 220 / 217, which is just this side of annoying due to the high health of Iron Man.
Sitting at 155k in the main, which should be about 170ish after the subs end. No idea if the 250k is doable, we'll see.
  • No way I make 250,000 unless point values explode next round. I did a few nodes in the morning and finished at about 154,000. That should get me to 160,000 or so by the time this round ends, putting me at an average of about 53,000 points per round.

It looks like I will walk away with that other Daredevil prize and a handful of Lazy Cap covers.

    So, quick question...

The best time to play would be last hour right? Thats when the nodes get their maximun refresh value? Or is it now?
  • At the end of first round the overall top leader in my bracket is around 52K, and since I know I was hitting close to the no rubberband area with 52K it's hard to imagine any bracket having a score significantly higher than that.

Since points go up by 25% each round, at this rate we extrapolate total points to 52K * (5.5) = 286K.

That said, by this round we should already have 52K * (3.75) = 195K, and in particular this round has to be responsible for 52K * 1.5 = 78K. I see the top of my two sub brackets combine for 45K so far and I really don't think it'll increase by that much before the event ends. I'm pretty sure the scaling is making people not wanting to grind out, and if people aren't grinding, then the rubberbanding modifier doesn't go up, because someone has to pass the previous sub bracket leader to increase the rubberband modifier. It took more than a day for the hard modifier to hit 10X, and there are stretches of an hour or so where it was completely unchanged. People are probably not grinding because they find out it's disadvantageous to grind due to the PvE scaling, and even if you don't care, having all those 230s is likely to simply cut off any attempt to grind just from the difficulty.
  • Last hour all the way.

I should get the red Daredevil (which is the last cover I need for him, so that's cool), but I won't get close to 250k. I will probably finish round 3 with 160k points, which is nowhere near enough to get to 250k. Unless points seriously explode, which is unlikely.

You can play the hard missions earlier if you want. Based on the simple observation of the point totals in both brackets and that hard missions are supposed to worth twice the points, you can see that hard and normal brackets have almost the same total points so far. This means hard is benefitting very little from the rubberbanding compared to normal, and the less the rubberbanding, the less of an effect to play later. That should hardly be surprising since hard is hard enough that nobody would want to play and the rubberbanding doesn't go up if no one is playing besides whoever was the overall sub bracket leader.

I find the fights in the current subbracket much more managable than the ones before. No more goons + thor utter cheese combo.

The Iron man with the yellow and red producing goons made short work of my party, and was quite early on, since then he grew a lot...

Though fortunately no need to touch him really. The essentials are easier this round indeed. Interesting I saw the desert one scaled to 210 while the other remained at 120-140.

Assuming the points for the next round go up by another 25% of the original point value as they have done each round so far, we need to be around 170k by the end of this sub-event to have a decent chance of reaching 250k.

    Calculation: 250 * (1 + 1.25 + 1.5) / (1 + 1.25 + 1.5 + 1.75) = 170.45.
