  • After a lot of work with my mediocre team, I managed to place in the top 50 of the Thor event so I got my first Patch cover, plus one from the alliance reward. My team's getting much better, I've got 2* Wolvy to level 52 now and after I've won some OBW covers from the main event prizes i'll be in even better standings.
  • Hell yea. Just maxed out my first 3 star character-iron man. Now I just need to grab one of his blue covers to trade out with a red and he'll be complete.
  • Bonus just pulled a punisher and a hulk from the heroic pack. Sweet!
  • Hey guys.

    Whats up?

Im a non-IAP player but I guess as a result of the MMR system Im holding 1st place in both Round 4 Simulator and Round 4 Simulator Hardmode. Kind of weird how that works out.

Whatre you guys rolling with? My team is pretty trash but I suppose its expected given the fact that I don't spend anything.

I haven't been running anything fancy (mainly a 2* player myself). In most circumstances I'm running Ares/OBW/X, depending on the mission/simulator round. For example I was running Doom as my third in the previous round, but if it's vanilla I've actually been running with Bullseye (who I have maxed). I've sometimes swapped Ares for Wolverine, but that's only if he's unavailable, usually.

I've usually been playing in the 50-75 range in Simulator, but I'm lagging behind in this one in favor of going more into Outlaw. I want to get up to 600 to get that Magneto cover.
  • Yea I'm top 20 across the board but I got all maxed out 2 star one maxed out 3 star and a decently strong 3 star roster
  • Last few events have worked out well for me on character rotation, barely any of my usual PvP team were featured in the Simulator so it's been a case of:

    - Keep winning the bigger (rubber banded points) matches in the Simulator while in the 1st day of Lord of Thunder and Unholy Outlaw
    - 1st day of LoT, Outlaw and now Fearless Defenders... win 1 match with proper team, then win 1 match with a 'weak' team to attact losses and 'tank' as much as possible
    - 1 day to go in PvP switch to all-out point scoring against generally weak teams (thanks to the losses from day 1 and 2)
    - Shield up with 8hrs to go and back to the Simulator

So far that's got me 2 x top 5 finishes in LoT and Unholy Outlaw and top 10 finishes in each round of the Simulator and on-course for a top 10 finish in the overall event.

I love it when a plan comes together! Only problem now is finding enough ISO to level up those covers :/
  • Hey Dr, can you please explain your tactics for winning one game with strong team then swapping to a weaker team?

We have to get in top 100 alliance for the new event so we can get Hulk black cover!
  • Well it looks like I'm gonna fall short of my goal- collecting all the daredevils from the simulator- but I will grab that sweet 8000 iso reward at 250,000!

If I may, I do believe the good doctor's strategy is to use the stronger team to acquire points at the start of the tourney. Say 200 or so, enough to make you an attractive target. Then, by switching out to a weaker team, it appears to all those who've fallen before your might, that your rolling with a wimpy team. Thus making you an attractive target who's easy to beat. Weak players will see this and take advantage- beating your weak team. Then, when you have a good number of retaliation matches, you switch back to your A-team, crushing your weaker opponents and racking up a respectable number of points. A bonus side effect of this will be that the weak teams you've just beaten will go to retaliate against you, expecting your wimpy team. When they see your killer team, they'll think "it's not worth my characters health" and skip over you- ensuring you will get to keep those points.

Managed to clear the 250,000 progression prize in Simulator. Knew the 300K was out of reach, but still made a run for the final subs (slow morning). Ended up around 265K I think. Subs were in flux when the event ended, but might have pulled off top 2/top 10. Last 2 rounds of subs were pure 230+ for me. MN Mags proved worth his weight in gold over the last few days.

Very happy to see the showings we've made in tourneys so far. I've been trying to do my part and congratulations to everyone else doing the same!
  • What's the advantage of doing that over just keeping your decent team in and getting less trouble from people? Why is it a benefit to lose points and then regain the same points? Do you get more points for retaliating or something?

I just spent 9 days grinding away to make sure I got the OBW covers from the main event. I've just received my rewards from the sub event but nothing from the main. WT actual F?
  • Scrap that, it's just shown up.
  • Good job everyone. Really good showing.

I wasn't able to commit as much time to the previous simulator rounds so I wasnt able to crack the 250k mark, but I did just finish in the top 5 for both normal and hardmode simulator round 4.

Only got 4 x 2*s (none really that noteworthy), but can't really complain I guess.

    Keep it up!
  • I'm just venting mainly because I started a thread to address this and have sent many complaints to the developers-but is anyone else f#cking tired of getting schooled by OBW!? I just took on a team of all 85s - OBW,2 star wolverine and MN Thor- with my team of lvl70 daredevil, 141 Iron man and 110 punisher and lost!
    **** I'd that!
  • Dub, see my post above. Is it so that you attract weaker opponents and can deal with them easily instead of being presented with harder opponents only?

It should work in theory. I can't say it works for sure I'm tryin it out now and just got smoked by that black widow. I think it largely depends on whether or not the original "weak"opponent has a better lineup in their back pocket like you (or I) do.
  • Lets make sure we get that Hulk cover alliance reward. I dont need it myself but I know quite a few of us can make use of it so lets do our best to get it for everyone.
  • Hell yea I only have 6 hulk covers (5 of which are green)
Right now I'm#8 with 374 but I got no hp to shield up so see we ll see how that goes
  • I'm sat on about 300 ish, might push to 400 then hold out for a big push tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I have to sit out the Hulk. I tanked a lot. I mean, Scrapped 4 lightning rounds full of duds for the Outlaw and ended up 2nd place getting all of BP's covers. I thought my MMR would be still low, and got home to queue up for Defenders. Yeah, outside of my main team being EVIL, which really hurts me this round, my queues are all 3* with 100's. I'm just not up for an uphill fight even though I would really like some Hulk covers. Sitting at 5/0/0, but I want to wish you luck in the Hulk covers.

On the plus side though, great job in finishing for the PVE event. I finished top 50 in my bracket and along with our guild, ended up with 1/1/1 3* Cap. I'm in the middle of transitioning from 2* to 3* for like 2 months now and just decided to buy the 100$ HP when it was on sale for the 2 million copies sold event. I work too damn much to not enjoy this incredible game. Just wish they would hurry up and allow Steam to iOS so I can play this on the run/at work. I'll be upping my 3* and hopefully redeem myself in the upcoming events!

Again, good job guys. It's great being in Chaos Rising.
