  • Yo, I've changed my mind on the Daredevil covers. Won a Wolverine green cover from the No Holds Barred tournament and I'm concentrating on leveling him up.

Pulled a Hulk cover from a standard recruit token yesterday, pretty rare, guess he's still mega weak at level 18 though!

My plan is to win the OBW covers from the week long tournament, you gonna go for more Daredevil covers?
  • I got the first daredevil cover last night. I feel bad, but hopefully I am not the only one who will be contributing almost nothing to the one star tournament. I sold off all my one stars for roster space, and now all the ones I have are level one. At least I can contribute more to the simulation event.

Work really screwed me over yesterday. I ended up getting home with 10 mins left for the first subevent. Placed 25th in both instead of top 10. I was first for the first day and a half icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif .

I'm going to aim for the same for this second subevent. Lazy cap doesn't appeal to me and I just hit my first DD cover. I'm gunning for the Lone Star event. I'm at 1/2/2 Hood covers and current first place in my bracket so I'll be focusing all on that. I've started transitioning from 2* to 3* for like 3 weeks now but work schedule really prevents me from climbing faster and I'm at a good point where I don't need to buy HP for covers.

Gl to everyone! Remember, pacing is more important than grinding.
  • Awesome! Glad to hear your all taking advantage of the simulators rewards. It's probably, in my opinion, the easiest way to stock up on 3 star covers. Congrats on the hulk cover. It's always nice to get a 3 star surprise in the standard pack, but yea, most 3 stars aren't real useful until u level em up past 85.
Sorry to say I won't be any help in the lone star skirmish as I have no one star characters but good luck to those competing!

Serious question: How the smeg do you actually get 3 star characters leveled up enough to be useful in this game without spending loads of real money or placing in the top 10 in tournaments (which seems very tough)?

Just time, really. The PVE events are huge sources of ISO and, if you focus on one ***, you can fund a lot of levels in a single event. I've never bought ISO, never won a tourney, and only been top 5 a few times in anything. I got most of my *** covers from lucky standard pulls, with some from the random heroics I've accumulated over time. I've been liberal about spending HP (earned in-game) to gain ability levels, at the expense of roster slots. I know there are arguments against that, but it's worked for me. I haven't regretted it other than maxing Rag's last green right before they nerfed him. I've been playing fairly regularly pretty much since launch, though, to give you an idea of what kind of time is required.
  • Yeah the PVE events are great for ISO, theres usually always at least 1 misssion with a bit ISO reward of 1000+

We are making a respectable showing as an alliance and if we keep it up we should keep getting rewards and keep growing icon_e_smile.gif

Very true I've been playing since you could heal/review your character by leveling them up in the preview version and am just starting to see my three stars reaching an effective level. Granted I made some bad choices selling Spiderman covers for iso early on...
  • Currently we are ranked 46th with 978318 points overall
  • Damn boneshizzle! Im at 77000 and I thought I was killin it. Nice work

Currently holding 1st in Lone star by 70~ points and shielded until tourney ends. I just want them Hood covers icon_mrgreen.gif

I'm going to be at work when the events end so I'll probably aim for top 20 in both subs. Keep up the good work so far!
  • Lately I won a 3* Spiderman cover and a purple Daredevil cover. I'm thinking Spidey is definitely worth creating a new roster slot for but I was thinking of selling Daredevil as I only have one cover and I'm not completely sold on the character anyway. Anyone think that's a bad idea?
  • I would hang onto the daredevil. Keep the Spider-Man too if you can but daredevil can be a real asset. He's capable of completely hijacking the playing field, crippling your opponents ability to collect Colors and eventually just shutting them down completely with stun lock. He works great with other utility characters like doom, Spider-Man or OBW. I sold some 3 star cards early on because I didn't have the space or needed iso and I'm feeling it now.

I absolutely love Daredevil's Sausage Drop downing an opponent, because it's instigated by a move the opponent makes directly.
"Ah ha! Some red energy, overlooked by my inferior opponent! I will scoop it up and add it to my reserves post-haste!"
"Wait, what's this!? Behind the barrel, a spandex-clad freak crouches, and now he's launching his genitals directly into my fa... AHHHHHH!"

    Plus there's that lol

That isn't my numbers that's the numbers for the Alliance. icon_e_smile.gif Im sitting around 56,000 ranked 251.
  • Don't know what's going on but in the Thor event right now I'm only being paired up with teams that are way above my level and I can't beat anyone. Plus my 'powerd up' Thor sucks ****, he only has red ability that does like 108 damage, way to go Thor.

There are times, usually at the beginning of a tournament, where your fighting bots. If you can recognize these bots (because they keep the same user name) you can usually score a few easy wins. These are opponents like wannabskrull, battleange1,kicksthatkick, b4conmagic, monkeyman1204 and a few others. If you choose the weakest of these they usually respawn a similarly weak bot in their place until they find you a weak opponent. Conversely, if you choose the strongest bot, it tends to match you to stronger opponents. Sometimes you just get stuck in a really competitive bracket. Good luck
  • Just managed get to 300 points on the Thor event so I got the 2* token. Our alliance is now at 35 on that event and placing in the top 100 nets us a 3* Wolverine cover, definitely worth going for.
  • I'm going for top 5 in my bracket for LoT and top 10 overall in The Simulator (top 5 in my bracket regularly). Both seem very achievable at the moment as normally I'd need to be sitting on 600 points in the PvP to be in touching distance but it seems the Simulator is distracting people's attention.

Got up to 300 myself yesterday.. got my Captain America** yellow. But yeah the rewards are pretty good with potentially multiple Patch covers to be grabbed between Player and Alliance rewards.
  • I'm trying not to spread myself too thin but I'm top 20 in all events right now. Thor, hood and simulator. All excellent rewards and our team is fairing quite well in all. Keep up the good work.
