    At 32k in ISO-8 event, back in first. Too bored to grind down any further.

    I'll be coming into the Cap'n Crunch event late, since I'm low on HP. I need several GSBW so I'll be riding the event hard.

    Hey Guys,

    HELP NEEDED! it's not urgent, but I don't want people to skip over this post and not give their 2 cents on the subject of Defense.

    Although it will be months for me until I'm able to invest in a decent defensive team, I'd like to know what you believe is the best or one of the best 3 and 2 person defensive teams in this game. People seem to like the Hulk because of 5 black Anger, but he never impressed me in PVP, I leave him for last and chop him up into bite size pieces. I've seen CMags on defence and he's not great. I've played against a number of 141 Spidey's and they don't impress me either. Hood can mess you up, depending on the board (lots of a bad color with no immediate matches, lets him drain you quite badly). You guys seem to like him with Dr. Doom, although Doom is usually easy to counter, at least without the Hood helping him out. Maybe Punisher and Hood, I'm not sure.

    There is no right answer, but I figure we've played enough to know what we really hate seeing on the other side of a PVP match. Let me know your thoughts.

    Quick update: I'm #1 in my bracket for the Human Torch event with 33,076 points and I'll start climbing the lazycap event later today. My plan is to shield with 800 or so points past the 8 hour mark. I don't particularly like GSBW, but i need the covers, since I'm currently at 2/2/2 with her.

    Btw, I was doing the math for level 141 Patch (I'm still far 4/2/3, but gaining on the covers) and playing him with 141 CMags 5/5/3 and 5/5/3 Hood is looking like my top team (in a couple of months). I'll use Punisher while I earn my Iso-8s and covers, but I'll play Patch when he's level 100 and has 5 green covers on him. He was extremely under leveled during his event and still was a beast with CMags backing him up. Our Savior is Da Man!

    Hulk isn't about winning matches it's about getting skipped. The best defensive team is the one that's annoying so people won't attack it

    People avoid tanks, spidey, and hood not bc they can't beat them but bc they make matches longer. If you have comparable characters the attacking team will win the majority of the time so the best defensive is high hp (hulk, bp, the fatman etc) or annoying (patch, spidey hood etc)

    Would that make Hulk, Spidey and BlackPanther/Hood your most annoying threesome? Would you add a damage dealer?

    For hulk to be an effective scarecrow I think you need a damage guy bc alone he's not scary. Like you said, leave him last and kill. Hulk is, however a patch deterrent. I pretty much refuse to use rage on hulk bc of the anger. When I ran 5 green patch I had matches where'd he'd cascade kill my whole TEAM after rage. F that.

    Spideys only annoying with 5 blue and even that only matters if you have a damage dealer too. thors are annoying. They're always one cascade away from using all three powers in one turn which usually kills at least someone. And he's fat!

Had I any team I might run something like patch mags spider or obw on offense so i could heal and play without stopping and patch/mags/some 3* on defense. Given that there's always a buffed character I guess the answer is actually patch/mags/ whoever is buffed if the goal is defensive wins. I'm basically not interested in facing max patch or mags ever so together is a no brain skip for me always no matter what

    Completely agree. Patch/CMags/Spidey is one of the nastiest combos to defend against, since you're guarding against so many colours, and while not the toughest team, nobody is *especially* squishy (like OBW or Hood) and the chars are firing off specials every bloody round, slowing the match down. High level Panther might even be more of a deterrent than Spidey, given colour coverage.

    I suspect Baglady is actually one of the toughest defenders/deterrents, but she's too slow on offense and I can't fathom how much ISO you'd have to pump into her before she became effective. The ideal team I'd like to try for defense would be her, Doom, CMags/GSBW.

    I never really think about defence, but I think that's eventually going to change. Most teams I face in pvp are 3x 141's and it doesn't really matter to me who they are, it always plays the same. Gather green and blue, pop berserker rage, lock them down with spidey, and slice them up. Heal right before the end, rinse and repeat. Once the inevitable spidey nerf drops tho, I can see people actually having to weigh the risk\reward of taking somebody on. Defence is actually going to matter. Guys like Hulk will get a huge buff once spidey's nerfed. Can't just stunlock him anymore to avoid anger completely like we do now. I haven't decided yet between him or punisher being the one I'm going to finish leveling after GSBW, but I think I'm probably going to go Hulk for that reason.

    I got to 800 and was about to shield but then I saw Hail Mary and couldn't resist. I won, shielded, then giggled

    I also beat some guy who was abusing the desert with sub 50 mstorm and OBW but he had close to 700 pts. The first time I went up against them I won on the first turn. Cascade plus desert plus berserker rage ftw!

    Alright, off to the gym I go, hope you guys can make a push, things get are starting to get interesting
