  • I am definately still pushing for covers, as I'm well behind lex. I also missed out on a Fury cover when my previous alliance missed the 100 mark, so I'm behind even with just him.

That said(and I've said this before) I'm finding myself dreading PVE in almost every incarnation of it. Its just a complete grind to me. And the length of them(7-10 days) takes a toll on me.

With PVP.. they are in 2.5 day cycles. I can take a full day off, then spend the last day and a half pushing for the covers. And on the chance that I miss an event.. a new one starts fresh, and I'm not playing "catch up" like I do in PVE. Not to mention that I can win the same rewards in a 2.5 day PVP that I took up to 10 days to get in PVE.

So I'm all in for PVP, especially for the essential covers(ie the current daken ones). But definately won't be heartbroken if we take a more casual approach to PVE going foward.

Oh definitely. I'm not arguing that she's a good character. I'm just saying that with a limited roster of maxed 2*s, since the healing change I have to use everybody available. So the question was really whether or not Cap/Moony was the best team combination out of Cap, Moony, aWolvie, and mHawkeye.
  • I'm doing the exact thing as chief (in the same situation too, actually). I missed on the 1st Fury cover and only have one maxed 3*.
I'll continue to work for covers especially those top tier ones like LDaken, Sentry, etc...

For PvP, I start when there is one day left now and usually aim for 800-850. For the previous few PvPs before Krakadoom, it could get me Top 5.
However, I was out of the Top 10 with the same points for Krakadoom so I'm not sure if it's due to it being the last season PvP or just my bracket.
Anyway, for covers I really want I'll try to get 800-850 whilst for those I don't need probably around 700.

I have changed the way I play PvE after the Shulk one which I grinded a lot. I've been starting late and getting the rewards for main brackets but foregoing progressional ones. I think I will continue this way from now on.
  • Hi there,

This was a great season talking about scores, but not taking into account that we "lost" Emeryt icon_e_sad.gif

I will push as hard as always (I only missed two PvP while being abroad) but we are in summer and I won't have so much time to play (in this PvE I'm not scoring so high although I still need that Cap Red) and my holidays starts on July the 22th until August the 10th icon_e_biggrin.gif so I will be offline. If you need to kick me in order to get any reward, feel free icon_e_wink.gif

See you in the chat icon_e_biggrin.gif

On the holiday note, I will be away all week next week, but I might have internet access and a little time to kill late at night (my girlfriend isn't nearly as much of a night owl as I am). Either way, don't expect any insanely high scores from me that week. Probably.

And Anubis, no way we're kicking you. We'll just have to either pick up the slack ourselves or be content with lower scores for that period. But you've earned that break, dude. icon_mrgreen.gif
  • I'm trying to jinx the devs to make the next season alliance prizes not interesting to remove all pressure from current top alliances.

Enjoy your holidays Der_Lex icon_e_biggrin.gif and thanks for all buddies.
I will come back with renewed energy (if my two little kids let me rest a bit) icon_e_wink.gif and as long as you can make me an spot when I come back [or after the end of next season (if there is another icon_razz.gif )] I don't mind to be kicked for the sake of the alliance icon_idea.gif all of you deserve the best icon_cool.gif
  • Not really interested in dropping someone from the alliance for a short term absense. On top of that, finding a recruit with the understanding that it could be a short term spot can be stressfull for everyone.

If it was long term(talking months here), or someone who has lost interest in the game, that's one thing. But lets not rock the boat over a couple weeks.

Do you think if they removed the name and alliance of the player in PvP it would help? Never knowing who you are playing does mean you may attack your own alliance, but it would also help out against these mega alliances who can just bully everyone out by only attacking other alliances and never their own.
  • I have a feeling snikrot will be back. This time he might want to keep who he is on the sly though. I figured when they didn't shut him down immediately that they were going to let him stay. Seems strange to wait so long.

    @Phaserhawk - it certainly wouldn't hurt.

That would be a really bad move. Not really productive either as those really interested can recognise the roster.

Part of the metagame (at top at least) is that you know who is around and what to expect.

Also is that alliance bullying more than myth? Even talking about a single player falling victim? How we get to 'everyone'?

And as mega alliances go, even the movement to put some limits on swapping got nowhere a few months ago.

I have to say. I am really loving our alliance right now. I feel we are competitive without being hardcore. We all play to our personal satisfaction and it puts us in the top 50-100 consistently which is great. It says that at our own pace we are a top alliance. We are pretty active in the in game chat, are active on the forums, and we are super flexible. Somebody's gone for a bit we dont care, somebody really needs a cover, we all put a little bit more in. I really think we have come together as a group and feel super happy. It does help a lot when regardless of the **** Devs and tricks they pull, having a great alliance makes it tolerable. Thanks to everyone, lets continue to be this awesome.

    P.S.
I'm still not sure what is going on with Copps. I put in a request a few weeks ago to have his commander status removed but not have him kicked. I was told I couldn't because I wasn't the creator of the alliance. When I said what had happened with Emeryt and asked if I could become the creator, next thing I see the issue is resolved and Copps commander satus is removed. So I may or may not be the creator now, but I wanted to keep people informed.

The world forgot that Snikrot was Emeryt, a tortured hero with the power of one million exploding threads.

Hope Emeryt is having fun outside. His presence is missed!

Our forgotten hero would be glad to say thanks for nice post but unfortunately dark Demiurge powers keeping him away icon_e_wink.gif So I will dare to say this in his name - thank you for memory.
  • I think Copps played a few hundred points in most of the events for like 2 weeks. I vaguely recall him even dropping a note in the chat one time.

I hadn't even noticed that. Lame.
  • As I said on the chat, I'm shutting down MPQ for good, following an old plan. Meaning not play, not launching the game and leave the forums too.

I think I harvested everything the game could have offered, many times over really.
And while it would be possible to drag on life keeps many things that are much better and more productive. And just looking at my games, those abandoned or the ever-growing pile waits just for the install -- I guess most of veterans here agree they deserve the time better.

I must thank Emeryt and Mog for creating this great alliance and all the members who started or joined since to fill the ranks. I certainly would not be around for months without them. icon_e_smile.gif

I'll be taking a peek like every too weeks if there were significant changes for better (not likely) or some new content added worth checking out like new non-MEH character (4 of the last 5 didn't meet the mark) or the new PVE chapter (supposed to happen eventually).

Forum PMs send out mail alert that I may or may not notice, if I do I certainly check. And I'm available on steam chat.

Take care everyone and keep up the best spirit of the game.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

All the best, Pasa. You were an awesome alliance-mate.
  • Could not resist to log on the forums just to up a handful of posts...

The new patch reads completely awful (except for BP yellow change) and the new teamup feature looks dumped on the game my the usual group of monkeys who never played a full game of MP let alone a tournament... And QA nonexiseten as ever -- how many trivial bugs they could twist in with this almost trivial feature?

Hope you who play along enjoy the game -- to me it looks like going the same bad direction switching the next gear. (Though I see Will promised some basic TU management just 2 major patches ahead...)
