Emyrt, please stick around a little bit longer, at least til a week past the end of Season 1 to see if they learn (unlikely, I know) and fix some of their recent mistakes. That is my plan, sounds like its pasa_'s as well.0

It's really a shame that this game lacks any progression at all once you've reached 3* territory. I'm convinced they could make tons of money from players at all levels if they just kept the power creep going, similar to what you get in more traditional MMORPGs. I'd be curious to known why they refuse to pick up such an excellent opportunity. Maybe rumors are true, they acquired rights to the Marvel Universe only for a short period of time, thus lacking any interest at all in long-term sustainability.Emeryt wrote:In fact, if not for You becoming homeless, I'd suggest all of us leaving the scAvengers. emeryt. .. I am also thinking about the same topic. I spend a lot of time farming lr each week.. made some progress... with reference to the recent changes.. it will a comparsion on a mobile game with unforseen changes vs reality. .0

I fed up with the changes, as 80% of them are making this game more and more unfriendly.
So take into consideration that there might be a vacancy in the scAvengers.
In fact, if not for You becoming homeless, I'd suggest all of us leaving the scAvengers. Just to make a statement.
After my last comment gained some ups I was thinking we can poll for the opposite direction.
How about declare us on vacation for the next month? Treating casual play, including no-show fair go. Then look back at end of season2 if the game is still
around actually.
My current thinking is I drag through this last week, then give it a major rest.
If the poll shows about halfway we can form the ex-scAvengers alliance for those that rest, I can offer like 3k HP for slots, guess we'd have no problem to have 10-15 slots from saved stock as needed.0 -
Fellas, I would hate to see you all go away. I can't claim that I haven't had similar thoughts, but I know that I would leave Django in capable hands and that it would continue beyond me. I hope that if some of you do decide to leave you can set up a succession plan to continue your traditions.
On the other hand, have you considered merely becoming a casual alliance? Forget the grind and just play for the heck of it. I bet you all would still place top100 with very little effort and miss no alliance covers. So what if you no longer maximize everything. You could still hang out together and have fun just messing around.
As far as the revs go, I'm pretty sure that they are not as ill-intentioned as is so often inferred. They are just muddling around with an inexact science and not everything works out the way they plan. Things could still improve again.0 -
dlaw, I don't want to be a part of it. I feel I'm not welcomed.0

I'd feel sad to see you guys go. You were a bunch of fun and extremely decent people. I'd suggest toughing it out for a few more days, until Season 1 ends, then relaxing for Season 2. Don't strive for massive Season points. You're a 20-person alliance full of very competent players, so you guys can easily get the next Fury cover without much stress at all.Emeryt wrote:dlaw, I don't want to be a part of it. Let's wait and see how they proceed with the Oscorp Tower, not breaking anything score related is probably going to increase my mood slightly. And I hear that PvP brackets might be back to the old way.0
-
I'm not understanding what is extra stressful about season 1. I got a target painted on my back on the recent set of events (Doom/Rag/Loki) because they're not characters I've leveled up, but I don't find it too hard to make a decent push for 900 and then stay shielded. Won't hit top 5 in the current ultra competitive environment but I don't need the covers offered anyway, and if I do I'll reconsider my roster make up (having a level 18 Loki is asking for be attacked by everyone). That's more than enough to meet the average for the alliance score needed to secure a Nick Fury cover too. I mean sure it sucks to be attacked by literally every guy out there but that's what you get when your featured character is level 18. I consider myself taking season 1 pretty casually and I'm only 1200 points behind Emeryt in the season bracket. About the only change I've made is that I got to play to 1am to put up an 8 hour shield for the events that end in 9am that I'd normally either let my rating drop and have to spend 300 HP for a 24 hour shield, and that's because I figure since I need the season points anyway might as well play a bit more to try to see if I sneak up a bit further than normal and save 150 HP.0

I don't think it's extra stressful though it is extra boring. Same placement requires like twice that many games. And with unhandled MMR twice that long games too.
With additional pain to see the top10 filled with people not needing the covers at all but be there just for alliance/season points.
The experience is mixed, I actually enjoyed the last Rags tournament where I got more beating than 7 previous ones combined -- but was attacking all kinds of huge teams left and right instead of just obtorverines. And got the 2 final loki purples too with a regular 2x3h shield. (But then looking at only 141 teams at entry of next tournament is not what I want.)
My rag was fair with 75 (almost 8k health), and got all the attacks regardless, also I wasn't shy to go against the full with 10k. All due to some breaindead matchmaking idea that tries to put all veterans in a small arena firewalled from everyone else.0 -
The last few events have been very tough on the veterans since there's some excessive amount of shielding at the top, probably due to season 1 ending soon, so the few guys who don't shield have way more guys hitting them compared to normal. I was grinding to 1100 and sometimes higher without shields in the first few events and didn't come close to that in the last few events, though of course a lot of that has to do with the fact that they also involve my weakest heroes. Still, hitting 900 and shield doesn't seem like awfully hard to do. I figure hitting 900 and finishing top 25 = 150 HP - 150 HP shield = 0 HP so that doesn't seem like an outrageous amount of effort.0

all of these changes are frustrating. the reward nerfs are the worst, but i still play the game for fun. honestly i never thought about the game being bad until i joined the forums and saw all of the other complaints. sort blissful ignorance. i play because it's fun and i don't see myself stopping. i do see me spending less $$$ (which is going to be hard because i have only spent $100 since the beginning, and that was when HP was on sale twice) until the devs make the game a little more vet friendly. I'd hate to see anyone leave the scAvengers because we are a good unit and very competitive, but i do understand. when i do start getting to serious i stop for a bit, then go back in for fun, not to win. i just change my perspective and the game stays fun. just something to thing about0

For those not browsing the forums that much, IceIX confirmed the veteranness-based bracketing in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7382 this forum. MEH.0

Well, if it's grouping veterans with veterans, then at least you don't have to worry about taking that Loki cover someone else might have needed.0 -
I also like the idea of sticking together and taking season two easy. I'm hoping that some of the back end things will swing back to a more stable playing environment but with all of the recent negative changes its been quite hard to keep up and still have fun. The Daken event left me with a very sour taste in my mouth...0

Guys, just hang in there, you are suffering from massive burnout. Some of the changes suck, but speaking from a company standpoint, they have to keep growing revenue if they are going to stay in business. That being said, some of the issues you are seeing in PvP are a directly result of alliances and the LR changes. the reason you are seeing so many PvP's with Loki and Rags is that they shifted from guarenteed covers to token packs and thus have to still make the covers available. As for the crazy scoring, I attribute this to alliances on some aspect as they are creating more hp for people to spend on shields. The other thing I have noticed is you have to push a little bit each day in PvP. And keep your MMR low!!!!!
I have have had no problem recently because I suicide tank, not retreat, suicide to death. It takes longer, but I have noticed hit points lost in match seem to have a huge!!!! effect on who I see. If I go in and retreat with some 1*'s I have to do this 10-20 times to see any kind of a change and it's not much. But if I go in with 2*'s Thor/Ares/Wolverine and I die on purpose, health pack them, and do it again, in 2 suicide tanks, I go from 3x`141's to 3x85's. I did some tanking like this 4-5 times in a row, using IM40 since I don't need him very often, Hulk, BP, and some other high hitpoint benchers and I dropped way too much. to where I was seeing 3x1*'s. I also have not made a push in the SHEILD event, since all I care about is Nick Fury anyway, I think this has helped me too. So while I think retreating does work, you have to put in more effort then losing on purpose with some hit point fatties, sure the matches take a bit longer, but the results are greater, and it actually takes less time losing on purpose a few times, then retreating 30 times.0 -
We have a madaken tourney coming... I was thinking if it's better played with loaner daken, or if using my own not apply the blue cover? On low levels looks like only good to mess up the AI and other bad effects. Also need playtest how Heat works with 0 covers as Mags likes to eliminate blues.
The alliance cover is the green, I definitely need it and probably many of us, we will need some punch applied being down by 2 and expecting a serious go all around.
@phaser: lately it's ill-advised to discuss workarounds on public forums as the tactics that are widespread are killed off by devs.0 -
Woke up to the new r53 and am having the common problem of no Facebook login and no events displayed. Tinykitty...0
