  • It sounds the Simulator is coming next. That is actually the one PVE structure I like since the ruin started. But I will be probably offline for 3 or 4 days so no chance for a shot at combined in any case.

Probably will play in casual manner, maybe a full go for some selected sub if fits my timing and prizes make sense.

I wonder if starting levels carry over from last PVE. IIRC the two enrty nodes served as personal meters, please note and post your numbers before engaging in mining the sub.
  • i had 80 ares, 81 rags, 80 bullseye in easy, 84 LT 85 cap 84 spidey in hard
  • 42/42/42 for easy unlock, 41/42/42 for hard unlock. Scaling seems to carry over to some extent, not fully though.

My levels were both slightly below 70 to unlock. The borrowed 544 falcon was pretty fun to play with on the second mission and there are no alliance rewards for subs.
  • ok since i started so high, should i suicide my roster to start the event in hopes of bringing the levels down?
  • My entry is 57 and 58 (center number is enough, the others are same or 1 below).

That means I will do some work on deleveling and yes kevin, suggest to do it when you leave play anyway so everyone is healed by your return.
  • i think i'm going to suicide the whole thing them heal 3 and run them in the season 1 simulator for ISO, then play the simulator PvE later and take advantage of RB. especially since there are no alliance rewards for subs all I need is a decent overall contribution

What's interesting is that in all three times that a PvE has had a non-repeatable node and I've thought to check it, that node tended to stay around 10-20 levels higher than the team I primarily used in the event, so if that is a reliable indicator of "personal scaling" then personal scaling seems to be fairly accurate and then after 2-3 days community scaling unnecessarily RUINS EVERYTHING, FOREVER

Random data point. My TotW node was stable at 168 for the last day+, which included 2 sessions of Alaska and Florida and 1 of Savage Land. Then, I picked up a Hood cover from the Florida rewards, applied it and *bam* up to 187. Note, I didn't level any chars, just applying the cover kicked me in the tinykitty.

    That is really interesting...

I wonder if adding the recent Falcon cover also has like effect.

EDIT: and they did by one.

are the subs standard 12 hour resets?

More than 11 hours, less than 14 hours. 12 hours feels a good enough guess.

That sounds like a really awful design decision. Maybe it's just a delayed sync? They might use the roster modification server roundtrip to retrieve and apply the current community scaling factor.
  • It's hard to tell based on any individual action since the community scaling is also constantly going up. I know I've seen the missions go up while I was away for several hours.
  • I bought a yellow LT cover with HP and spent some ISO on leveling. The entry node levels went up.

Seem those who refrained to use covers and leveling to avoid scaling were right after all. The bump is not really big at this point but may be in the equation in a way that contribute significantly at a later phase.

Just to have better confirmation, please if you apply a new cover or add levels make a note of the entry nodes before and after and report.
  • I got back few hour earlier so could play almost 3 hours of last sub, making up a plenty of points, 49.5k total, #11 in combined, looks promising for falcon covers even counting I'm not around at the finish either. Got completely nuts board on my last game on the iso-pack node, zero blue AP collected on the first like 20 turns, so several goon tiles went off and Mags died from cascade just when I got the first triplet. The really low backup party of BP(115), **cap(64 with buff) and IM40(70) fared much better against the 7k health enemies, BP eventually fell but by then I had a ton of AP and ~1k health in my standing players. They managed to take last points of X and eventually pyro -- then the mutant conveniently self-exploded taking out my party but with victory. Too bad it took more time than left of the sub so got only the prize but not the 460 points...

The falcon bug also cost me seriously in the middle (trickery converts only like 1 of the faclon's shields elaving the rest as is...)

Rags is the new boss -- sounds good as I get his last cover after just 500 more points.

Will probably play for 1 blue doom cover too.

Adding the 2 new Loki covers didn't show on levels, likely what counts is actually the overall levels or overall ISO spent on the characters, last time with Falcon I pushed him to the new level caps too, and after buying the LT cover spent some 50k ISO that showed up.

Added 1 black/1 purple to Loki, entry nodes unchanged. Added 1 red to Rag, entry nodes unchanged.
  • From my observation, it appears the game uses the community scaling if you somehow got your personal scaling lower than the community scaling, and at that point no amount of suicides will lower your levels, and it seems like it's pretty hard to lower even your personal scaling at that point though this allows you to bank a few extra emergency Spiderman/Magneto bailouts the more you get your personal scaling below the community. My level on the hard node unlock fluctuated between 125-137 on round 2 but the enemy levels did not go up or down when my personal scaling changed. The nodes all went up by a lot of levels during the last refresh but I'm pretty sure that's the community scaling kicking in during the final refresh. My personal scaling to 155 after R2, and my first node on hard was 200. After getting the 10 guys killed the personal scaling went down to 137 and the first node went down to 183. I'm guessing at this point lowering the scaling would not lower the levels any further, because I managed to lower my personal scaling to 125 before in R2 and it had no impact on my enemy levels.
  • Uh oh. I'm ahead of some scAvengers in the season standings.

@Emeryt: will you hate me forever if we place above you? icon_e_wink.gif
