Sitting on 243k, so gonna make the push for the 8k ISO later. Was hoping to get the blue DD to finish off my 5/2/5 DD but oh well.

Sitting on around 780 for Unholy Outlaw (yay BP covers) but not shielded though. But looks like 133 Thor/Hood/OBW is enough to deter most attackers icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Just checkin in. 650 in Hood and 230k in the PvE.
  • Checking in as well!

230kish in PVE, will make final push to hit the 250k mark. I was gonna push for #1-2 but I pulled my 5th yellow IW from a heroic token so now just going for the Cap covers icon_e_biggrin.gif

Shielded at mid 500s in Hood event, I'm hoping that gets me top 10 (currently #4) so I'm gonna keep my eye on that and jump out if need be.

I see you shielded, all fancy-like, in my Hood bracket. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Top scores seriously ballooned in the last few hours.

  • Yea, I don't know how to break past 700 any more. I get past 550+ and I'm seeing the same 6 ppl that have around 400 ponts. I attempt to grind out 5 wins and they retaliate along with a few other ppl with 200 points and I'm back where I started.

The only thing I can think of is to keep shield/reshield all my way to 800+ ... But there is no way I'm wasting that much HP just for a few more points and maybe a shot at a IW cover. Then If I'm competing against a mid tier player or a tanked MMR player, I don't have a chance.

I just refuse to tank my MMR.

Yeah, 700 seems to be a magic threshold at which, pretty much regardless of MMR, you'll be exposed to and matched with 3xL141 teams. It's a nightmare. I see you broke just past it, though. Good job!
  • I just cleaned out my Facebook friends list. I'm looking to add only 3 people and hopefully they will do likewise.

    My handle is Ben Lohse
  • Why only 3 people? And I believe FB friend-adding must be mutual
  • My idea is that if you only have 3, all of your FB rewards will go to those people every day. If they do likewise, you will be getting a lot more FB rewards than you currently are.

Finished the PvE at 250k ... I won't be able to do more than that because I am still at work. Hopefully that still lands me in the top 20 when things are all said and done.

If everyone in your friends/sharing list plays with the same consistency, the rate at which you get shared rewards will stay constant regardless of the size of your sharing list.

    Think about it.

Determining (and relying on) the consistency of play of 3 people is much easier than 15-30 people.

Perhaps, though you'll then need to make sure that the 3 you pick are more dedicated than the average of your 15-to-20-player pool. Otherwise, you still lose out, comparatively. After all, in PvE, every node's initial clear gets a guaranteed "real" reward, and 15-20 active players will be doing more initial clears than 3 players. icon_e_wink.gif

    Whew

What a run. I got the 8k iso reward this morning and did a few more nodes. Looks like we finished pretty good. Good job all. I placed in the top 50 of the main bracket so I'm happy.

Nice thing about this event, I didn't have to grind nearly as much as usually to still get ALL the rewards, so I'm happy about that. 9 days is a stretch though....but I loved all the iso and stuff, I have been able to push many characters up.

    Good job all!!

So I have a question for everyone...

Do you guys tank at all to lower your MMR to place well in events?

Now that alliance rewards are in the game, tanking doesn't help our team so is there any reason to do it?

My strategy has been to tank one event to place better in the next one. For the most part it seems to work ok. But now I am wondering should I just man up and deal with my mmr?

I know a lot of people may need the hulk rewards so now I am wonder if I should just go for it and not worry about mmr....

    What are your thoughts everyone?

    Tank during LRs...
I am just having the game opened on my phone and either:
    1) if I have the time - I beat all the seed teams - which brings me up to 130-200 and put on worst characters, and then retreat every single match until I run out of 'throw-away' heroes or my ranking drops to 20... this means a LOT of "losses" which are counted against your MMR - this is much more reliable, though more time consuming and boring then 2)

    2) if I do not have the time - I beat all but one of the seed teams, put on a tank team and forget about it - this however means that you rely on other people to find you... not that reliable unfortunately ;/

    Not tanking PvE events
  • Honestly I just go for it. I've never been concerned with my MMR. I understand everyone has a different strategy. Just going for it has always worked out well for me.

Anyone have any idea where we finished in The Simulator? Last check I did was with about 30minutes to go and we were #15. I kept playing until the end to add to our total but I couldn't check our ranking while I was grinding away.

Because of my roster I'm definitely a different case but the tanking for MMR has never made sense to me and I just play away.

What is the feel does everyone need Black Hulk cover? I can push a little higher if it will help especially with nothing else going on and I sort of want to test Lazy Cap as soon as we get our blue cover.
  • I bought my final 2 black Hulks a few months ago. So, I don't need them. But I do need that last red cover to bring him up to 141. So, I'll be trying for a top 10 finish.

I don't plan on joining until the final day, but if it's the only event going on I might have to join earlier.

My Hulk is 4/1/2 so I will be trying to end up in top 10. I am glad it ends before I go on my cruise.

Also woo for 1/1/1 Lazy Cap.

I really hope I do not miss out on Lazy Daken while on a boat.

ok, I'm just gonna go for it then and not worry about my mmr so much. I don't think its that terrible anyway.
