How is everyone else doing? I see we moved up to 9th in the overall alliance ranking.
I am 74,872 in the Main after first clear of these subs. I am currently #2 but was #1 after the first clear. Despite not playing the first round optimally I was just a couple hundred off #1 when the subs closed last night. My main competitor for top of the main is Psykopathic of the 5 Deadly Venoms and he is playing very optimally.
Based on our Alliance results I think we are where we want to be right around the top 10.
I just played my way to 352 and #1 in the One-Star Skirmish. Those of you who are going to play this, take Toxicadam's advice on using the Prologue to heal up your guys so you get more matches in. This is a technique that is widely known on the forums but not so much in the general player population which gives us all an advantage in getting extra matches in.0 -
bleh, I'm at 64k right now. I missed a few nodes last time around and didn't give myself enough time... Was a busy weekend for me doing family stuff. I'm going to try and stay more on top of it.
I'm just glad we aren't one of those alliances where they are starting to talk about cutting people not pulling their weight. I mean wow. I like to be competitive but having run a guild in World of Warcraft for awhile, I understand people have lives and aren't going to spend every second on the game. I think we are doing pretty good.0 -
Yea, good to see that comment Will. The way the rewards are doled out/tiered there isn't really a big enough chasm between them that requires max 100% effort at all times. Just play the way you normally do and we will all do well enough.
Although it would be nice if there was a mechanism that let you know if a member stopped playing for weeks at a time. That would be nice to know about.0 -

That is why I will always stay a Retribution member because you are letting us play the way we want to with no pressure to perform. I am looking at these other Alliances bickering and complaining and wondering if they are having fun yet. I am happy with the group we have and nobody should feel they need to do anything more than is possible within the way they live their lives and how MPQ fits into that.
You did a good job LordWill picking our team.0 -
Thanks guys!
Yea I was reading where one alliance is asking people to check in so they can keep track of it on a spreadsheet! LOL. That will NEVER be us. EVER.
I'm sure they will add something later on to just see if people go inactive/stop playing.
I agree we have a great team.0 -

Holy ****. Spread sheets. I totally agree. Love this alliance not to hard core but most everyone wants to perform well.0 -
I agree. I like this team because it's relaxed. No pressure to play all day everyday and be in constant contact. We work well together and have done great in tournaments. And I know I don't post a lot this being my 2nd time but I keep up on things to see what people are up to and how well they're doing while having fun doing it. If I ever can't play for a long time I'll let everyone know. Right now things are good sitting at 78k waiting for a refresh. Thanks for letting me be a part of this team0

I agree as well. I'm so glad we are in an alliance of good people who care more about the people than the stats. I think we are strong enough to always maintain a top place without have to be cutthroat about it. I also was in a very competitive WoW guild, and that just leads to burn-out and high churn. When I played EQ I was in the same guild for over 5 years, and developed a lot of close relationships from it. So kudos to LordWill and the rest of you.
As far as this new event(s) go, I was at 71k points this morning and in first place, I haven't done my latest round yet. I didn't even realize the 1* tournament had alliance rewards I was planning on playing it anyways, and definitely will do my part to make sure we can all get a yellow cover.
If you read about the Simulator thread, you will see me post about how I am trying to maintain my lower MMR and still stay competitive.
Remember, all you have to do is place near the top at the end of each round. The way rubber-banding works, the only important round is the very last one. You will never place near the top unless you can play during the last few hours before an event closes, unfortunately. So until then, all you have to do is keep within striking distance.0 -
This second set of simulator is a pain in the place where the sun don't shine!
At least it seems like most ppl struggling in my main bracket. I'm like 50th and 19th in my subs and still top 20 in my main bracket. At 77k points now.0 -
Sitting on 81k points on the main (#5) and #12 on easy mode and #8 on hard mode. Been OK so far, I have to say I'm glad I pumped all my ISO and spent a bit of HP on LazyThor, he's a friggin beast.
Yea definitely liking the relaxed atmosphere, why stress yourself out?
Unfortunately, this round ends at like 2am for me, so hopefully I can scrape out a top 50 finish for the token.0 -
83k in 2nd in the main bracket here.
Going to hit the 1 star tournament tomorrow. Going to try for at least 300. Yellow hoods for all!0 -
Won't be able to contribute to one-star much apart from starting feeder mobs. just started cobbling together a *team last week, won't have the iso to level the toons.0

Looking at Numez's post I have a question? Do you have to at least win one game in an event to get an Alliance award?
What I mean is if any Alliance member chooses not to play in One-Star will they get the Alliance award we earn there anyway? Or do you need to at least have one win under your belt to get an Alliance award?
If it is the latter then make sure you go in and skip around to find a team you can beat so you get whatever we earn even if you don't have much of a one-star team.0 -

Everyone in the alliance gets the reward regardless if they participated in the event or not.0 -
Good job on the PvE and I look forward to our Yellow Hood!
I'm having a good event so far. I'm actually sitting #1 across the board. That's never happened for me in PvE, so that's cool. Not sure if I'm just in a non-competitive bracket. I'm around 15K/21.5K in the subs and 92.5K overall. Unfortunately I will be traveling tonight for work and it's going to throw a kink in my timing. I should still finish strong, but will probably lose my top placement. Oh well! I want to get some Thor/Hood pulls! I've only been getting Bullseye out of the event cards.
For anyone that's struggling in the PvE, here are some things I've found to be helpful. Also, I don't have the luxury of a stun-lock spidey so if you find yourself in the same boat this may be helpful. If you've found other good strategies share them as well since we all might have different rosters
-Ares and Doom buff is incredible! They do huge damage. For Ares, 6 Green AP is good for 2K of damage. Plus they harmonize well, so when possible I run with them. I also have a max AP steal Hood that helps collect all the AP from the goons which usually means I can trigger an onslaught every 3-4 turns.
-I find Sim 3 to be the most difficult. The goons feeding Green to Patch is infuriating. Loki is DEFINITELY the way to go here. Let Patch lay all of his tiles and then flip that tiny kitty! Doom again harmonizes well here because his blue feeds black as does Hoods AP steal. By turn 3 Patch goes berserk, so you have to get that AP collected quickly and may want to boost to save up on health packs. You don't have to worry too much about damage as Patch's strike tiles and Doom's Demons should help eliminate the team quickly now!
-For the Desert levels, I usually run M. Storm since her red leads to Oasis and an infinite AP loop. That paired with Ares' Onslaught usually makes for quick work. However, Storm is an opponent on these maps so she's unusable (I doubt that's a coincidence either). I am fortunate to have a C. Mags, so I usually use his Blue to create critical tiles and trigger cascades. If you have a Hawkeye/Bullseye that can create critical tiles, put them where you can join the environmental tiles. If you didn't already know, on desert an environment tile match with a critical tile is an automatic Oasis. If you can get 4 in a row, it's good for 3! Load up on that green AP! [Enter Thunder Clap/Onslaught/Berserker/Call the Storm or lots of strike tiles via Wolvie/Punisher]
-When going against Juggs, deny red! A level 160+ juggs headbutt isn't what you want (4000+ damage)
-I find Daken the most annoying. I've found 3 major strategies. 1) Avoid green, save up AP to kill/stun 2)Populate red tiles first with Wolvie/Doom 3)Let him lay strike tiles and use Loki to reverse them
-In honor of our alliance name, I have to give the shoutout to Retribution skill. If you're facing foes of 5000+ health, that's a nice way to finish off the fight! As this event continues, the enemies are going to continue to scale so this will become more and more useful!
I hope some of this helps you! I'd like to hear what works for you as well!0 -
I just thought I would share this with you guys....

And yes she plays MPQ too.
I had to put it on her tablet since she would always want to play when I was playing. She really likes it too. I help her do events, just small stuff to help get her recruit tokens and such but she is freaking lucky when she opens them. I did some of the easy simulator with her, she got 2 of the progression reward tokens and got TWO green X-Force. I mean geesh kid, I'm not even that lucky. She has been opening my tokens for me for awhile and boy she is my lucky charm.
Anyway,hope everyone is having fun!
Thanks aussie for all the info!0 -
So IceIX posted some info about the up coming Lord of Thunder event:IceIX wrote:It's got Alliance rewards, yes. Currently the top 3* reward is Patch and the event now has its own Comic Pack which it didn't have before.
Time for some Patches to go with our Hoods.
We will be so fashionable.0 -

Nice going everyone on the 1* event. My Hood thanks you And I am loving all the extra iso we are getting for the subs as well.
So have a question for you guys, I have a few 141's. It makes me appreciate them a lot due to how much work and iso it takes to level them.
Right now I have about 60k iso. I could dump it all into one 3* and give them a mega boost or get a few more 3* chars up to level 100 or close to it.
Would it be better to get like 3 characters up to level 100 or focus on just one and get him to 128 or so?
My strategy has been to focus on 1 character at a time, and sometimes dump some iso in the powered up hero just to bring them to a functional level. I am finding though especially with the simulator, that it would be better to have more choices and I should take the time to level up some of the characters I never spent much on, The Hood, Loki, Doom, etc and get them to that 100 level mark.
So what do you guys think?0 -
I would tend towards getting a diverse roster of 100+ 3*'s.
I can't remember the exact numbers but getting from 100 to 141 takes like 50k iso, while you could level a 3* from 15 - 100 or so for that same amount (or slightly more, as I said I can't remember the exact numbers).
I find the sweet spot is around 110 to get them useable/competitive, then from there I slowly build up the ones I use most often. If a new 3* comes along that looks good and I have enough covers, I'll work to get them to that sweet spot again.
Anyway, it's a lot more fun when you have 5 heroes to have fun with compared to say 2. I used Punisher almost exclusively for a while since he was my highest level 3* but it got a little boring, so now that I have other 3*s to use i.e. Thor, GSBW, Hood, it's easier to pair up with other heroes and have more fun.
And at the end of the day, if you come across an unlucky cascade and your core team gets wiped, you either have to use up health packs or wait for them to get revived.
So, if say my Punisher/Spider-man/Magneto team gets wiped, I can jump straight back into the fight with Patch/BP/OBW for example. I still get my rainbow.
EDIT: I definitely recommend the Hood if you have 5 blue. I can't tell you the number of times I'm one AP short of using an ability, then when my turn comes around, his blue procs and lets me fire it off. In saying that, it depends on your board as well so sometimes it doesn't work out too well. 5 yellow would be good to have but if you have someone else who uses yellow, it's not a big deal. You need a big damage dealer with Hood though i.e. 3*Thor, Patch, Punisher; as on his own, he pretty much sucks. Any of those 3 with Hood/OBW is a great defensive team. You could even pair OBW/Hood with Psylocke I think. Cheap abilities that keep getting fed AP would ramp up the damage real quick.0
