Retribution Alliance Chat

I will say this, the in game chat is buggy. I am sure I have NOT seen messages from other people. Sometimes I have to restart my game and I see new messages, so if someone doesn't do that on a regular basis, the messages can scroll off and you would never see them.
So I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to people. Communication is key and I don't think anyone is a slacker in our alliance, there are times when everyone does really well. I know we have people from all over the world in this alliance and we don't know whats going on in their neck of the woods. Like I said, we'll monitor it, and make changes if it requires it.
Now that we'll be able to see the stats after then event ends, we can track things a little better and go from there. I was thinking since the in game chat is buggy and might not be the best reliable method for communicating someone will be gone. I wonder if how else to do it? Maybe if I got everyone's email address? I could email them if they miss some events to check in on them and find out whats going on with them before we take action. Forum communication is ok too.
Perhaps post in the forums if someone mentions they are on vacation or not going to participating in an event instead of using the in game chat?
I agree though that we are a team and even if you don't need the covers, other members might, so scoring 200-300 points in a PVP event is fairly easy to do and helps out the team.0 -
we have to get the falcon yellow.. it is GODLY.....
30% more power to strike / protect / attack tiles? imagine pair him with Psylocke .. or Wolverine... as a PASSIVE yellow..I can see UNLIMITED potential in this guy.
Falcon / OBW / Psylocke or Patch or BP or anything
Falcon / Spidey / Patch .. good for attack and defence .... (Strike from Patch with Protect from Spidey)
Or.. Falcon / Bullseye / Daken ... if the later 2 weren't annoying enuf already.
Or make him a good team support with IW .... (Imagine her Protect tile is 1k....)
Level 1 yellow is already 30%.. yellow 2 is 40% ... OMG... if yellow 5 is 70% ... he will be on EVERYONE's team.... this Falcon yellow is a deal breaker
Not to sure about his blue....redwing pet bird... can change attack tiles at level 2... meanning HT black will be a bit affected...
Viola. .his purple... create protect tiles... 9 tiles at level 1 ... o come on... tat's too much...makes spidey looks bad....
So gogogogo.. this Falcon should have decent life too..
Man.. this char is like a passive skill in my other MMORPG game.. D3 (Diablo 3)...
NM...
BTW... the main just opens up the rest of the 3 other map... 2nd more map will be started 12 hrs after the 1st map.. and the 3rd map will open up 12 hrs AFTER the 2nd map... so plan your time wisely...each map is like 1.5 days....0 -
Hey Will I heard about this groupme chat that's available in the app store. I think it is both android and iPhone supported. Someone starts it and the rest email that person to get in and it's not buggy. Maybe that's an option.0

Mmmm... 2nd (or is it 3rd already?) tournament for Ophidiann in a row to score round 00
-
I haven't heard anything.
Personally I feel that all members of the alliance should also be members of this forum community.
Not only is this website a great source of info for all things MPQ, but this alliance subforum is probably the best way we have atm to communicate with each other regarding our play status, etc.0 -
The fact that Ophidiann has some (really lowish amount - ~4000) points in PvE and still nothing in yet another PvP forces me to think we should be finding a more active/verbose member...0
-
It's starting to get really tough to get into 100 in PvP with the handicap we are currently facing0

I'm back now, so I'll be able to give a more consistent effort. Yesterday was a brutal day of travel, didn't have any time to help out.0

Thanks for chipping in when you had a chance it definitely helped.
Welcome Home there should be some nice rewards waiting for you.0 -
Yea, it was nice to reap those rewards. Thanks to everyone in the Alliance.
I'm a bit miffed I missed out on that Human Torch PvP. Looks like those high progression rewards were fairly attainable. I just didn't have the time to grind up all those points.0 -
So I have been thinking about our alliance and starting to hear some faint grumblings. I think we all need to be on the same page and have the same expectations, otherwise people are going to get upset and frustrated.
So with the new tools in, we are able to see who is doing what. That's great to a point. What I didn't want this to turn into is a "This person isn't pulling their weight, lets kick them." type scenario. To be fair, there wasn't a lot of expectations or requirements when we put this alliance together. We all wanted active members and do reasonable well in events, but not much more than that. So there might be people that joined thinking this is going to be a super casual fun alliance and now we are turning more competitive. I am saying we need to figure out what we want to be so if we decide to be super competitive, which is fine if that's what everyone wants. We just need to make sure we are ALL aware of this transition and either be on board and move forward or find another alliance that is more what they want.
So we need honestly ask ourselves, what type of alliance do we want to be? Because that is going to determine, how we play and what our expectations are.
They have changed the alliance reward structure slightly for 1st and 2nd place, so not really a huge deal. I have a feeling they will be changing the alliance reward tier structure even more. They might add more tiers:
1-2 , 3-5, 6-10 etc
If they make this change then we will need to see how we fit in. As of right now, there really isn't a huge difference between 3rd and 99th now. What we have been doing is not worrying so much about rankings but at least getting the Top 100 rewards even if a few don't really pull their weight sometimes. Again, these alliance rewards tiers are not in yet but we should be on the same page regardless if they are in or not because it affects our mindset and expectations.
A. Super competitive - Top 10 ranking, Trying for 1st or 2nd on a consistent basis but at least getting top 10 in all events. Burning through Hero Points to maintain rankings in PvP, Everyone should pull at least 600-1000 points per PvP event. Must be very active player and not miss events unless real life gets in the way (vacation, school, family). If you don't pull your weight after a week unless you have a valid reason, you are kicked and replaced.
B. Very competitive - Top 50 ranking. Using hero points to maintain position in PvP, but use them wisely. Everyone should pull at least 500-900 points per PvP event. Must be active player and can miss events due to real life. If you don't pull your weight after a few weeks unless you have a valid reason, you are kicked and replaced.
C. Semi Competitive - Top 100 ranking. Use shields when you want, No expectations on performance or event participation as long as we maintain a top 100 ranking, otherwise low scorers and non-participators will be warned then kicked after a few weeks. Must be active player and can miss events due to real life. If you don't pull your weight after a few weeks unless you have a valid reason, you are kicked and replaced.
I know these might not be perfect but hopefully you understand what I am trying to do here. We can't have half of the people thinking we are a C type alliance and the other half thinking we are an A type alliance. Then the A's resent the C's and so on and so on.
So lets talk about this first before we take a vote, poll or take action by kicking people for non compliance or anything.0 -
I think we are fine as we are, but it's sort of weird how we place in tournaments. Sometimes we are placing high, and sometimes we are placing only a few points enough to get into the top 100. As we currently are, I am fine with our members playing how they currently are playing, but when the time comes when rewards are tiered better, we are going to need the players who place in the low 100s every tournament to get to at least 300 points a tourney. We all know who they are, and all those points add up in tournaments and that is the difference between getting that 2* and 3* cover. I don't necessarily care if they aren't pulling their weight like you said, but when almost half of our alliance doesn't put up a few points, it puts extra pressure on us to ensure we get into that 100 range, which shouldn't happen because it is extremely easy for a 20 member alliance to get into the top 100 every single time, which we have been struggling to do lately.0
-
To me the biggest determining factor is communication. If you don't have the communication ability to help other alliance members out (either through play tips or your availability schedule) you are doing a great disservice to us all.
So, I think 'casual ... but committed' is my baseline expectation of the alliance. Especially with summer rolling around and many of our members (slowly) getting max covers in most 3 star heroes.
So, I don't expect 600-1000 out of every player, every single time. But I do expect 300-500 (in every event) and good communication at all times. Basically someone that's going to play an hour a day, every day and post something somewhere (either here or in chat) once a week.0 -
I would hope that we could always shoot for top 50 but as long as we finish top 100 I am okay with it.
I am fine with the way things have been and the only change I would like is when people know they are going to be not playing to let the rest of us know.
Toxicadam told us he was going to be away and he managed to squeeze in a game or two anyway. With him gone I knew I needed to score a few extra points in PvP and so worked on that.
There will come a time when I won't be able to play for a week or so and I would like to think that my teammates will pick me up as long as I let them know it is going to happen before I leave.
So far even with the varying amounts of dedication we have within our alliance we haven't missed one 3* cover yet. All that we have missed is 500iso and 50HP a couple of times. Most of the time we are in the top 50.
My attitude is to play my game the way I want to play and if the team needs help in the stretch run then I'll kick in there. I trust everyone else to just play and have fun and the placements will work themselves out.0 -
What I am currently getting is:
1: Communication with the alliance
2: Let us know if you won't be able to play for a certain amount of time or for a tournament ahead of time
3: We don't expect you to get 800 points a tournament, but do try to do whatever you can to help when you can
4: Have fun and reap the rewards
Is this about correct? Anything else that I'm missing?0 -
So personally speaking, I think things are good. Unless there is a real big motivating factor to change, I think what we have been doing has been working.
I do think there are those not on the forums and missing out in the communication.0 -
I'm good for trying to hit top 50 as well. I'm an active player but I know there will be times that I can not play. I totally agree with Colog that communication is key. If down the road that they change it from top 50 to something like PVP individual rankings then we will need to revisit this discussion.
Right now I like that we are casual but still competitive.0 -
So as far as the alliance goes, I like the casual but committed moniker. I think that is a good way of looking at it. I hate that I couldn't compete more heavily yesterday (I just missed on my last Punisher red cover ). But I plan to pull my weight during the week. Typically for me I can play pretty heavily during the week and a good bit on the weekends. However, my wife despises this game, so that can create some challenges and usually some long trips to the bathroom!
I think the key is communication. I will also tend to be a more competitive pvp player since I can do that on my own schedule since there are shields and other dynamics that make it more flexible. PvE can be a bit more challenging managing refreshes. Luckily rubberbanding usually makes up for it, but it didn't seem to yesterday. The way I look at it, we have to be balanced otherwise we will burnout (or even get banned from playing by our roommates ). I have to admit, it was nice getting the alliance rewards yesterday even though I couldn't contribute as much as I'd like. I'm also happy to return that favor when others can't commit due to other obligations.
That said, I don't think it's unreasonable to contribute a little bit. I think we can easily be in the top 50 and even top 10 if everyone is available. But, getting top 100 is fine as well especially if people have trips, obligations, or other things that come up. As long as you just contribute what you can and communicate, it's no big deal to me. I think we have seen that alliances can bunch up at certain points, so 300pts could be the difference between a top 50, top 100, or worse placement. I think as long as we can stay top 100 under the current reward system, it will probably keep everyone happy. At least for me it will since getting the covers seems to be the key to staying ahead!
Good job in the PvE so far! Keep it up!0 -
I think that 300-500 is not a big thing to ask, especially considering the recent changes in MMR where you are faced with 3* teams only after ~700-800
Until anything changes, 3-99 is definitely all right - however anything below 99 is actually not
And yes - communication - at least sparse, using the ingame chat - should be a requirement...
(oh - and I do think that we have top 10 potential if everyone is active and trying to do their best ^_^ )0
