    Your defensive team = the team you won your last fight (not "played" - you can play and lose/retreat and this will not set the defensive team)

    Your defensive team is the last one you won with. The way I do it is in the beginning I save one node with one of the seed teams and once I've hit my first resting spot sub Spidey with something more formidable. Later on when I'm skipping I'll keep one of the low level fights for the same reason.
    So my sequence goes like this:
    1.) Drive to a particular points level
    2.) Remove Spidey and replace with something more fearsome OR if you want to tank three low level replacements
    3.) Win the match against the "easy" team
    4.) Throw up the shield

    A lot of us have different play styles than you so at the time point you mentioned I probably was somewhere around 240. But that came from being at 400 and having a nice group of high point retaliations all lined up. I picked this up later and and shielded a little over 90 minutes before the end at 545 to go concentrate on the PvE which was my focus all weekend. I noticed we rose quite a bit towards the end and I unshielded with five minutes to go to hit the one 35 pointer I had lined up to try and move us into top 50, but I just couldn't finish him off before the bell.
    As long as everyone is playing I am happy to let them choose how to spend their in-game resources. What I like about being here is no one is asking me to change the way I play and I like it that way.
    There will be a time when you can't play as much for whatever reason makes sense to you but yet you're going to login and have a nice Alliance prize waiting for you too.
    I am in this Alliance because I trust LordWill to make the best decision for the team as he has so far.

    R50 update is out and we can now chat in-game under the Alliance section.

    Here is where I really take 1 for this alliance...

    The prizes are not needed by me at all.. Psylocke has been 5/3/5 since 2 months ago... so was seriously thinking of not even shielding... i just need 600 points for the last green cover of Ares... if i shield up for these 2.5 days.. the cost of HP can BUY the cover outright (500 hp)..... So the only benefit is if I win #1 spot to get the 3rd blue cover for IW... Then shielding makes sense.. if not I was just letting me gain ISO for next 2.5 days ... (would not have cared about the points...) but since this alliance has stood by me since I was 'mysteriously' booted... I have to do my part too....

    (Now i realise, when one has max covers on everything... really lose the motivation to participate in certain tournaments...)

    p/s: when this tournament started... Retribution was ranked #2 on the Alliance ranking... just so you all know....

    Nice, looks like you're off to a good start. This early on, i typically don't shield for two reasons: 1) Ensure I rack up retaliations. When shielded, I find I don't get attacked nearly as much 2) Keep MMR down. If you successfully accomplish these, then a push late in the event should leave you in a good spot and save on shields

    Also, hoping to finish strong in the PvE event. I've been hovering around the top 5 of my bracket every time I do a refresh. I haven't won one of these since the Ares event.

    Completely agree with Colog. on this. At the end of the day, I think all we want is the cover, an extra 25-50 HP is nice but it's not a big deal. If there is a PvP tournament where you really want the covers and the alliance rank isn't up to par, sing out. I'm sure most of us would be happy to band together and make sure we get the alliance reward.

    So now that the tools are in place now, I am thinking we have been a man short for quite awhile. It looks like Gnusy doesn't have any of the lazy characters, not even the ones we won as alliance rewards. So I am thinking he hasn't been online for quite some time.

    He was one of the first people to join but never had a forum account or anything, so never communicated with him. I was hoping everyone would use the chat to at least check in.

    So I am thinking we should probably replace him if he hasn't logged on for that long. I don't feel its fair to the alliance to be gone that long and not say anything, they could have at least created a forum account and said something to us. I understand life happens but its been at least a month I would estimate?

    So thoughts?

    Haha yeap, gratz to you. I was hoping to ride out a top 2 finish but you and songoku made a mad rush at the end. All goods, I didn't need a yellow x-force anyway.

    Gah such a waste, he has a pretty good roster.I vote yes, if this was WoW, he would've been kicked even sooner icon_lol.gif (miss one raid = "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU? OMG WE WIPED COS YOU WEREN'T HERE") Can't say I miss that lol.

    Yeah I would have to agree with everyone else. The main issue is there is no way to communicate with him. That plus the fact it doesn't seem he has been playing since before the Lazy Thor event......who knows when/if he's going to play again.

    I would say that we should first find a suitable replacement and if Gnusy hasn't contacted anyone till then - be it ingame or through the forums - perform the swap (kick + invite the new player)

    LordWill - Unfortunately, it looks like Gnusy isn't active any more. He has a killer roster and was obviously very active at one point. I have no doubt we can find someone who will be able to actively contribute pretty quickly in his place though. The new alliance chat feature will greatly help in these circumstances going forward!

    I bet you that gnusy was one of those guys that were locked out from playing due to the IOS7.1 bug this game had unresolved for almost a month. People started reporting it right at the beginning of March. Same time Lazy Thor was introduced in the Hulk event replay.

    Quite a shame if that is what happened.

    Anyone running Max IW, Max DD, and Max Hulk is obviously running that team for defense. IW and DD to me are a very boring and slow team to use. Plus, I can think of way better uses of ISO than IW. So, my first response would be to skip and play the next person icon_e_biggrin.gif

    That said, having spidey/c.mags/OBW will be important due to Hulk's Anger. If you have it, then I'd say C.Mags, Patch, either IM40/Hood to support AP. C.Mags will help ruin IW due to overwriting her defense tiles and invisibility if it's necessary not to mention his ability to create endless turns with low cost blue/red skills. Patch will provide ample damage and strike tiles. IM40 and Hood will be the AP battery. Plus IM40's recharge gives Patch all of his tiles making Best There Is even besterer. Only exception may be adding M.Storm (especially in desert environment!) to completely neutralize DD if you're worried about him. Her red and green skills will help wipe the board clean of any traps and would still add to AP. Plus, Patch should shield for her red/green.

    Out of the group you mentioned, I'd go Patch/Spidey/IM40. I'd start of targeting IW and try to build up yellow AP. One successful recharge would guarantee a good stunlock+Berserker+Best There Is which should kill off the hulk. I'd then just repeat the process all over again. IW can be a huge pain if she can get a cascade and start laying defense tiles/bubbles. So I'd target her after hulk or possibly before depending on what AP the cpu collected

    Aussie, thx for your insightful knowledge. Guess it will be a race to collect yellow since IW would use the invisibility to protect DD who has the lowest health after he placed traps all over the board. Lol.

    Maybe i swap out the DD for IM40 then. Hmmm.....
