  • Man levelling 3* is expensive. I just spent 23K on 12 levels icon_e_sad.gif
  • Same here. Punisher went from 113 to 120. For about a billion ISO.
  • Ugh I've almost totally giving up on this event. I just do each mission once and knock the 1000 pointer down to 1 and that's it. Nearly at 180,000 so I should be ok doing this and getting my Thor covers. It's just too long. Maybe if we didn't already have 10 days of simulator and brotherhood I'd be ok, but 3 ten day events really burn you out and make u wanna stop playing. It be nice if they were a week long, or even just one 10 day event a month would be good.thank god it's nearly over, until next week where we have a new 10 day event based on 3* Thor lol

  • Subs rubberband to the global sub leader though: I think my subs that just finished also were at about ~10k/~15k, so I feel like something else must be going on in gamars case.

Subs do use the global sub leader for rubberband. I mean, you can see the sub's increased points before you were ever in a sub bracket. If it's based on the sub bracket you're supposed to belong to, there's also no way the modifier would ever be that high because you should belong to a sub that's just recently started even if it attempted to extrapolate that.

*sigh* Still no Hulk or Gamma tokens

Try 2* Thor (3/5/5), mStorm (5/5/3) and oBW (3/5/5) if you have them. Even if with lower levels/non-ideal covers, the enemies can't kill you if they never take a turn. (particularly true in desert enviroments). I only have 1 yellow thor cover, but I can still take down full 230 villain teams as long as it's a desert and I have 20 minutes to spare.

    Thanks for the advice.

Thing is, Thor and oBW are BARELY leveled (2/1/1 and 2/0/1 respectively and only AFTER I got the Red Thor progression reward and pulled another Blue oBW so it was after this last round ended) so the whole cycle, regen AP, heal, never let them have a turn business doesn't work a good majority of the time. Or rather, I have to be able to take the hits long enough to collect the right AP to get it all rolling.

mBW can stun lock but absolutely can't stand hits. Thor is underleveled and so can't really stand the hits either. MStorm id kind of okay but wasn't meant to stand hits, either, etc.

Oh well; I'll just have to keep juggling around and seeing what works.

(Yes, I am missing a Red Thor cover from Prologue; Juggernaut has repeatedly refused to give it to me.)
  • I'm basically just trying to do a controlled fall, since I'm around 500th place and these subs are just killing me. Since there should just be another round of subs after this followed by the (unrepeatable) main map missions, I think I should be able to stay in the top 1000 just doing a few missions at a time.

Well the end is near, I am #26 with 204K points!!! and two days to go. I am little bit tired, I want the event to finsh, win the Thor covers, and rest a little bit. 9 days is too much for an event, I think 5-7 days would be better (or at least don't do three 9 day events in the same month icon_razz.gif).

The last time I did the Hulk event I barely got to the last reward and I finished #500 or something like that (I got all the Hulk covers but I didn't win the XWolverine). I don't now if now they are awarding more points per fight or the prenerf Ragnarok was too difficult to win more than once without too many loses but now I am winning way more points (I think will finish with around 240k less points, 80l above the last reward!!!).

I agree with everyone else's sentiment about this dragging on a bit long. I also agree it is probably due to having 3 10 day long events all in a row. I'm definitely ready for this to be over and looking forward to taking a break from PvE for a bit. Of course that could all change but, hopefully there'll be a week where it's just some PvP events + lightning rounds so I don't feel like I need to be on 4+ hours a day playing. I'm currently hovering in the 250 range in the main bracket wondering how much effort I would need to crack the 200 mark. Now that the fights have all soared into the 230 range doing more then 1 pass per map per session is getting tedious but I would feel a bit silly finishing at 215 when if I had just snagged a few more points here and there I could have bumped up to 100-200 range.
  • Worst event in a while. I don't know where's your "scaling" or "rubberbanding", because I have barely 30K points and I keep getting these 230 leveled opponents. Extremely unfair.

And besides, most of the desert events with maximum points are Black Panther only (money grab much?)

    Lame. Completely lame.
  • I've never seen a game punish their players as much as this game. I can't even finish a ful sub and my enemies are only 130. A self rag with mobs that generate his colors every turn is just evil. Not fun. Seeing him dual cast both abilities and just wear you down in 5 turns 2 games in a row and finish your day for 3 hours is no where near the realm of a fun game.

Also allowing us to see other rosters is just salt in the wound. I'm in place 200ish in easy node with 100 patch 85 obw and a 80ish punisher. What does spot 1 have? A 85. A 70 and a 60. Yeah that encourages me to keep grinding

I also don't get why have a easy and hard nodes when the mobs are all the same level.

The concept behind this game is great. I love it. But I'm getting to where I really hate playing it
  • Only been playing for a few weeks, and this is my 2nd PvE to be a part of.

First lets talk about what my main trio for this event consists of.

It started with --> am currently using:
Thor 5/1/4 maxed level (don't remember what this was) --> 5/1/5 Level 70
cStorm 5/3/3 maxed level (again don't remember what this was) --> 5/4/4 Level 83
    BP 0/0/1 Level 15 --> No change

I trade out BP for Punisher on his missions:
    Punisher 0/1/0 Level 15 -- 1/2/1 Level 21

    Thought process...
Push Green and Blue for the larger attacks with black as well for final strikes.
BP is Heavily powered up for this event. Namely his health. Even with the *still* 0/0/1... his heath is bumped from 950 to 5441, and his blue strikes got a bump from 10 to 47. Which makes him perfect to take blows for my cStorm when collecting blue. He takes damage for the team after matching Black/Blue/event tiles
Thor is also powered up, and is my main damage absorber after most matches. He takes damage for the team after matching Red/Yellow/Green.
Storm is there for her blue attack and (in emergency) the Raging Tempest.

Thor's Red/Yellow strikes come in handy when I need to wipe out an annoyance(daken, a sniper with a 1 count remaining, etc)
    ---

    What this has netted me:
I have been in the top 100 in all but one(110ish) of the sub events. I am currently fluxuating between 150 and 250 on the main leaderboard

Obviously, I'm scaled lower than alot of others, as I see people around me with entire rosters in the 100+ levels. But I'm going to take advantage of opprotunity while I can before scaling does hit me.

    Observations:
First thing I notice is that there is not much difference in grinding the subs out from the shotgun, and waiting til the last 8 hours to start and leisurely go about doing the missions at a much higher reward. The points awarded on the intial mission by waiting have been as high as 7x what it was when I looked at it when the event started. I understand the purpose behind rubberbanding, but really shafts the people who put in the early effort over those that put in the same effort at a later time.

I've made it a routine now to bleed the main board and go through the story missions first thing, as the levels there tend to skyrocket after 8 hours(at least for me). I don't do this for the event points, but for the ISO collection for leveling. I then break and come back to the game to make a push in the last 8 hours. I focus on BP and Punisher missions, as they tend to be much more managable than taking on 100+ levels in the main story missions.
  • I'm just playing this one for the HP at this point. I don't think I have a realistic shot at the Lazy Thor cover (hovering in the 7000th-8000th range). Not having a single BP cover really cost me a lot of points over the duration of this event.
  • ..and now I'm done for the day cause all my guys are dead and I'm out of packs. I got 2 more starter nodes done before venom and rags pretty much perma stunned me and devoured and whatever move rags does to clear the middle. I think I got 3 moves in before I was dead. I do want a challenge but an actual chance at winning would be nice. When you can't clear the 3rd node in the easy bracket something is wrong.

I didn't bother with the regular nodes for some time -- only do the BP mission a few times and maybe the Punisher one. Since passing the last reward places seem more stable than before, I hope it stays that way. Guess everyone is exactly as bored/tired and only wish this thing was already finished.

Yep, those have way less levels and far more points in them.

That would work if I also didn't get screwed by scaling in the last event too an actually had a black panther.

Is it just me, or is this event actually no fun? v.v

    I mean

    a) No Gamma Bomb Token, so u end up with Daken/Bullseye/Hawkeye covers more times than not

    b) Another Week, another new character.. one that u dont even WANT, but they will punish you for not getting him ... in the next PvE event they will do next week where they give out the next 3* u may have wanted v.v

... my missing motivation screws me out of getting into the first 6666 places... and strangely that only motivates me to play even less *sigh*

I've played one mission today, Black Panther for just under 4000 points. That's the most I've ever seen for one mission. As for the overall placing, I'm thinking it's going to take close to 200,000 overall to get the three Thor covers.

Look at it this way: your "reward" for grinding your **** off for 9 days is having to spend more HP on cover space for one cover of a character ( that you already have). A character you only need so you have a better chance at winning another character (that will cost more HP for cover space) that you won't be able to use right away.
